Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs for the first time today! This Movie caught me by surprise with how good it truly is and deserves to be called a masterpiece!
When hard times hit Swallow Falls, its townspeople can only afford to eat sardines. Flint Lockwood, a failed inventor, thinks he has the answer to the town's crisis. He builds a machine that converts water into food, and becomes a local hero when tasty treats fall from the sky like rain. But when the machine spins out of control and threatens to bury the whole world under giant mounds of food, Flint finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew.

Fun fact: Tim, the dad, was originally just another side character in the town. Then the creators realized late into the making of the film, it was lacking that heart at the core of it. In a stroke of genius, they retooled Tim into being Flint’s father and which I think greatly helps.
This is one of Sony Animation’s best movies that is heartwarming and funny that it remains one of my favorite movies of all time and love the hair Cody.

i think it's interesting how all the food is inherently vegan because it's formed from water in that machine but nobody considers that a worthwhile invention (meat substitutes)
like he solved world hunger and factory farming and vegan substitutes that are affordable and taste like the real thing
@@SkwithOv Not only that but are probably as nutritious and as filling as non-vegan products as well. I mean, it is a product of science after all. You don't half-ass it. :P
In the sequel Chester V also said that the food the machine makes is even more delicious then the real thing too
16:32 i totally understand how you feel. I also feel relatable with characters like Flint. As someone who loves to draw and want to sell my art as products, my dad just tells me that drawing fanart for money isn't a job, but i love doing that, it makes me happy. I do know that my dad loves me and cares about me but i just wish he would stop being negative about what i love to do.
As soon as I saw the opening credits "A Film By... A Lot of People" I knew I was going to love this movie's sense of humor
I like that basically all his failed inventions actually did something useful. He improved the flying car, the spray on shoes destroyed the machine, the monkey thought translator was actually good from the start, and his rat birds saved him. I think the only one that didn’t pan out was the hair-on-balder 😂
Well he lost a lot of hair by the end of the movie, and it’s all back by he opening scene of the second movie, so maybe he used the unbalder then.
I grew up with this movie. Can't wait for you to see the sequel. It's my favorite.

If you’re gonna watch the sequel fair warning; Carl is no longer voiced by Mister T., instead voiced by Terry Crews. I love them both but for different reasons. Both are funny but for different reasons. Mister T. can be taken seriously even when hilarious, while Terry Crews is hilarious even when trying to be taken seriously.

The cool thing about those shoes flint has is that they looked bigger when we seen him as an adult, so it means that you wont need to look for shoes your size because they will grow with you

I'm so happy you were able to react to this movie as this was one of my favorites to see in the theater when it debuted. Definitely a theater movie for sure and I am happy to hear that you enjoyed it.
By the way, it took me the longest time to figure this out but I think the reason why Flint inflates his cheeks like that for a kiss is that his nose is so large that it would be rather difficult for the two of them to have that perfect kiss kind of moment, but that's just my thinking.

This is a very heartfelt movie and one thing that won’t leave my mind is when Flint pretty much destroys people with ice cream snowballs
The cop running is the best part of the whole movie.

Fun fact about the officer Earl he was originally supposed to be a gym coach but they also wanted him to be an officer so that’s why he’s wearing gym shorts he’s part of a gym coach and an officer
anybody else realized if Brent didn't follow Sam & Flynt into the vortex atop the meatball, both would have just fallen into that giant mushroom stuck to the top of the "food machine" (now Idea how to spell its name), so Brent following technically saved them

When you realize Flint's machine could solve world hunger
and probably convince vegetarian to eat meat( remember that the meat the machine-made is from water an not killing an animal)
But it can cause some problems, like chefs and farmers and fishermen lose their jobs. But on the other hand, it can stop people from hunting other animals that’s endangered, like sharks. I heard they hunt sharks for fins to make food which this could be a good thing.

It’s the criteria for a main character, they gotta be an orphan or at least have 1 parent, have a dream no one else believes in, and have a love interest at first sight
This is in my top 10 favorite animated movies of all time. A total masterpiece.
Probably one of the most epic and beautiful soundtracks in animation (along with How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda) and an enchanting story in itself.

Hey Cody, be sure to react to the sequel. It's one of the few times the sequel is just as good as the first one. However, there are a few things that don't make sense compared to the first one, for example flints lab is strung up high and has no holes despite the food crushing it in the first one.
The first time I watched this movie was in class a few years back, after I got really addicted to the movie because I thought the movie was funny amazing and heartwarming ❤️😁👍😍🤩

I'm pretty sure this is the beginning of Sony Pictures' stylish animation, they later cranked it up to 11 in Spiderverse & Mitchells.
Catching up on reactions again and here we are at one of my favorite comedy movies. I always love this movie for the fun lines and good humor and food puns. Glad you enjoyed the movie though! But also yeah I feel that about the father son relationship, they do tend to have those tropes in a lot of movies. But I did enjoy how they did this one.
Officer Earl is the best character, get this man a movie Sony!

Behold 6:57 the running Officer Earl meme was born, why does Earl run like that the animation it's one of the reasons why it became a meme and second I don't know if you know his other films but the Mayor is played by Bruce Campbell who is mostly known for Playing Ash from the three evil Dead films and the show which on your spare time you should absolutely watch the first Evil Dead is horror but the other two and the TV show is comedy horror.

I would say the biggest reason why flints invention failed is that the machines main power source, being a full on nuclear core, (which is why it took so much power to turn it on,) didn’t have any kind of regulating system. With a nuclear reactor, the more fuel it takes in, the more heat is generated from nuclear reactions, and so more coolant, or in this case water is needed. So the more the machine was used, the faster and more power the reactor got, resulting in more water being sucked into the machine, and the end result was mutated food items that were created by a nuclear reactor that has essentially no means of being regulated. Plus, the machine seems to have been designed to produce one food item at a time. By being forced to provide entire STORMS of food, usually with more than just one food item, that certainly accelerated the reactors energy demands and resulting in further nuclear mutation. So once the machines computer brain attained sentience, there wasn’t much else that could stop it.
