I’ve ordered precons and 3 boxes from 2 stores. So 6 total. But I’m debating if I should go ahead and go for more or just live with the results I have now. I’d have to stretch to gain more but if it sells thru then I have to be satisfied with what I got cuz I won’t pay secondary adjusted prices most likely. At least not unless they settle to something reasonable. I’d be perfectly happy if they capped it at 60k Good luck on your decisions Cus this is tricky. Great video. Thanks for the update! Y’all are awesome!
Right now, we got taken a bit by surprise, because suddenly all of our local options were sold out, so we hope to still find some available boxes next month. We have orders from three different places right now, just trying to hedge our bets a bit in case something doesn't come through, but ideally I would love a few extra boxes, because now we know how fun they are to open and I really want to be able to deckbuild whatever we feel like. I would be very happy at the 50,000-60,000 box range anything above that might be a bit risky, but on the other hand maybe the demand is actually there for it, and with longer between sets the extra supply might be needed to hold over until Arthurian Legends? What do you think? Thank you for commenting with your thoughts on the print run, we really appreciate it and thank you for the kinds words!
@@CardboardGuide I think even if there is demand for a little more I’d still be ok with them capping at 60. Nothing wrong with having some desirability. When ppl are clamoring for more product they are doing a good job. When ppl stop looking for product cuz it’s easily available then it’s game over. Better to be short than way over.
Thank you, we do our best to present the best possible videos within our skill, so we are overjoyed to hear you positive feedback, it means a lot to us. ❤ That sounds like a good order, even though I feel like Sorcery boxes are so fun to open that you could cases upon cases and still feel like you wanted more. 😉
Your passion for Sorcery and wisdom shines through! Fortunately with Beta we should have a year to open cases and cases until their next major release. My pre-orders are done but I'm just getting started. Thank you for replying. Your care and dedication to this wonderful product and CCG in general is appreciated 😊
I did similarly - 7 Beta boxes and two Beta Precons mixed between three different stores - TC, GameGrove and one other smaller store. I did back but just one box and one Precon, and I have been kicking myself for not doing more when I had that chance.
We ordered across a few European shops to make sure we a least got some boxes, and in the hopes of actually getting the promo card. Great that you had a lot of Alpha, did you manage to pull a full set together? We are still trying to collect the full set, and it became very clear just how big of a set it is, when you try to complete the entire set. 😆
Thanks, we appreciate it. We really enjoy making Sorcery content and the community is really great, so if our videos can help new players and the community that is just really great. ❤️
Thanks for checking out the video! That will be awesome, I am sure it will be a lot of fun and those precons are super affordable -and even a include a little booster treat. 😉
Indeed, the metal shirts just add that nerd vibe, so you know we are legit. :D That seems like a good place (to start), where would you ideally like to end and how many boxes would you like to open for Beta?
I preordered thru covenant. Got 4 booster boxes and one of the precons. gonna open everything and play the game with my friends using the cards so everyone can make their own decks.
Well that sounds like a good amount of boxes and a lot of fun! 😉 Did you do the early preorder with the Lightning Bolt or the current one with the Headless Haunt?
I am responsible to order for our playgroup, I ordered 5 booster box + 3 starters from 1 store, then 6 more booster box from another 1. Searching for a 3rd and 4th store in Canada to complete our playgroup need. I think 50k boxes would be great. 60k would also be, but I would prefer to pay slighly higher per box because of slight rarity rather than having singles / box prices collapse because of overprinting. Nice video as always!
Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment and for the kind words! ;) We have orders at three different stores, trying to make sure we actually get a buy a box promo (we have been burned by stores with MTG promos in the past) and in case one store doesn't have enough boxes to go around, but they are smaller orders and we want to make another order, we just need to figure out how many cases we should go in for. How big is your playgroup and how many boxes do each of you want?
@@CardboardGuide I also suspect that at least 1-2 store will not provide the promo card, so thats why im aiming at 3-4 stores for ore order. Total boxes should be around 23 + 3 starter and ill share at least 4 of them, leaving 19 for me to open, i plan to collect a "master set" this time (Non foil, but a playset of every cards). I forgot that I have 2 incoming from the early TeamCovenant (With the lightning bolt promo)
Very cool, and even though it is sad that it is necessary good thinking on multiple orders to secure promos. It sounds awesome with a master set for playing, we will probably be getting more boxes as well, since Beta will be where we want to build decks, play with friends, and really get into gameplay.
I currently live in Canada. I have no LGS's in my area, so ordered 2 boxes from Team Covenant on their early pre-order with the Brian Smith Promo. Then I ordered 2 standard booster boxes to get the Frazetta Promo... and 3 pre made decks. Searched all over Canada for LGS's Selling Sorcery. Found 2 stores, one in Toronto and one in Montreal.... ordered another 8 boxes from each of their pre-orders before they sold out. So I have a total of 2 cases and 4 Premade decks coming for Beta. I was able to purchase 10 booster boxes of Alpha and 4 premade decks.. Currently I have 2 unopened pre made Alpha deck boxes and 25 packs of Alpha boosters... I have been able to complete a full non Foil set of Alpha... hoping to do the same for Beta.
Exciting! Sounds like you have a good amount of Beta coming your way! 😉 How close are you to finishing the complete Alpha set? Do you have friends who play or are you playing online on TTS? We are currently three cards away, and they are in the mail as we speak! 🤩
From what I'm gathering in my discussions with some stores that will obtain Beta (at least here in USA) is that allocation isn't even confirmed yet. Suspect that the August deadline is when allocation can be determined. My LGS doesn't seem to want to actually open a preorder without an allocation, whereas other stores might not care (and then find themselves oversold once allocation is announced). Though spot to be in, but I suspect that the store that isn't doing preorders now will be in better shape once allocation is determined and can then officially open preorders. As much hype and anticipation there is for the game, 2+ months our from release is not really that close in terms of preordering. I blame the test pre-pre-order done through Team Covenant for the hysteria because that preorder "ended" back in May and so many people thought that was it and no one could ever preorder Beta again. I get why they did it, but the communication around the entire process was really terrible. We still have such little information about Beta even 2 months later!
The store we are mentioning that had guaranteed allocation, according to the two stores we talked with, are only the original 124 Innkeeper stores that backed the Kickstarter, then rest have no information about their allocation. I am certain there will be more clarity when the Beta preorder is closed and the Sorcery team can get a better handle on how much is needed. From a German store there has been some indication that there will be more than one wave, since they are saying that they will get more supply in November. You are absoluteky right, it is tough situation to navigate for both Erik's Curiosa, the stores and us as the buyer, since nobody wants to disappoint and the demand is very high right now. I think the smaller pre-order did cause at least some confusion, because people thought that would be the only chance to preorder Beta. However, Simon did a great job of clearing that up with the most recent video and the hard launch of Beta. In terms of information surrounding Beta, what would you like to know more in depth?
@@CardboardGuide I've spoken to an Innkeeper here in the US and he specifically told me that he did not know his actual allocation yet. Maybe it's just that distributor he's working with that isn't confirming anything, but the overall confusion seems to be some of the issue. While he's promised me that he would be able to fill the order I want (nothing too crazy), he still won't officially take my money and lock in the preorder yet. I'm not sure it's ever been noted officially by EC whether Innkeepers are going to get a specific allocation or not.... or even that an Innkeeper must announce to the distributor that they WERE an innkeeper in order to receive said guaranteed allocation. Maybe this is how every launch of a TCG goes... have no idea, this is the first one I paid attention to. The TC pre-pre-order was poorly communicated. Outside of the handful of locked in people on the Discord, just about no one understood that it was not the only place that would have Beta available. I suspect MANY people bought from TC under this premise and wish they didn't, especially those outside the U.S. who paid an exorbitant amount in shipping. While one could spend a few minutes possibly looking up their answer in the search bar for Discord, we all know almost no one ever uses it, or even if they do, can't find the exact answer they were looking for. I lobbied for an FAQ on the Discord and the EC team never really implemented one. That would've really helped, but too late now. With regards to Beta information, here are the few things off the top of my head that I hope EC confirms relatively soon: 1. Will beta have the same cut corners as Alpha, or something more traditional like a MTG/Pokemon card? 2. Are there any other aesthetic differences between Alpha/Beta beside the Greek Alpha/Beta symbol by the artists name? 3. What card is officially getting cut? 4. Will foils in Beta also have a full art back like Alpha? 5. Print runs, as you guess in this video 6. Will there be any further base set released beyond Beta? There's speculation of a "Revised", but so far as I can tell nothing has been announced. 7. Will there be binders for Beta? 8. Will there be tokens for Beta.... and will they be anything bigger than 1/4th size? I'm sure I'm missing a couple other questions I had, tut this is what came to me just now.
I took your advice and went through Covenant to pre-order. I ordered 2 pre-con deck boxes, one of which I will open, the other is going in the closet, and one booster box which I want to open, but I know I will be kicking myself later when it's worth much more than what I paid if I do. It's going in the closet. I'm more of a player than a collector, but at this point, I know better than to open those boxes!
Hi there, we are going down a similar path. We definitely want to open one, so we can play together and with friends. Perhaps we will order an extra precon deck just to have an extra one and then save one just for our collection. Who knows what will happen with the Beta set, maybe it will go up in price, but either way just enjoying having a sealed box on display or in the back of the closets seems like a safe bet. Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch the video. We appreciate it. ;)
great video as always guys! tbh id feel better with a printrun of 40-50k boxes maximum from my experience with other tcgs. i think ~45k would be a sweetspot.
Great video guys thanks! I think 60k is the maximum I'd like to see the print run. 50k would be the most likely according to what you said about the Innkeepers. However, there is a chance that we see a 30k print run as a 'first wave' with a 'second wave' of 15 - 20k which is pencilled in and awaiting the go ahead if demand proves to be high.
Hi there! Yeah, I feel like the print run about 50-60K would be the a good place. I don’t know about the print runs, there could be several or one, that just get trickled out. I do know that I have a lot of faith in the teams ability to manage this as best possible. And fortunately it seems like there is a lot of demand and the game is getting a lot of eyes, which is great!
I think if you want to try and collect as much as possible, three boxes is a good amount and after that you will need to trade and maybe buy the last singles, the set is huge! We opened three boxes and are still missing around thirty something cards even after doing a couple of trades. 😂
We were all guessing on the sub reddit a couple months ago and the general consensus was around 60k boxes so I'd you're spot on (honestly I think it could be much higher). It needs to be at least doubled for Alpha to maintain any value and to keep people going for the next 2 years when we get the 1st expansion. I don't care what people are hearing from distributors about how hyped the game is, distributors are salesmen, that's their job. I don't care about what Simon said about their printers not being able to keep up with demand. Beta is going to be widely available, cheaper than $120 sometime between this November and 2025. Alpha prices can't move down each week while Beta is simultaneously moving up and Tcgplayer will only add to this dip. At some point it's going to not make sense to buy a $200-$300 Beta box when you can get Alpha for $500-$600. Without a doubt, the demand is being overblown. I love Sorcery but we're still in an echo chamber and until we see what the rest of the would thinks about the game over a couple years, there's no telling what the real demand is. I look forward to finding out though!
Our guess from the Beta video we did a while back was that they needed around 28,000-ish to guarantee allocation to all the Innkeepers and probably would double that amount, so around 50-60K, I still think that is about right. Even if the distributors are salesmen, I get the feeling from what and how the company is communicating about Beta release that the demand is a good deal higher than anticipated and produced for, this however does not indicate if they will print more Beta eventually or if the Beta print run is one and done. Another solution is that Alpha continues to dip slowly then when Beta comes around, and the player/collectorbase grows enough, they may go back to collect Alpha as well, which might then pushed Alpha gently upward. It will be interesting to see, but mostly I look forward to playing more with Beta around and the precons being extremely affordable.
Has there been confirmation that 402 cards means exactly 1 card is removed, instead of say, 5 cards removed and 4 added? I mean... this is already true, considering the elemental avatars are replaced.
@@The_Protagonist Thanks. I've heard this from everyone but couldn't find a source so just wondering if it was official or inferences from the set size & a game of telephone
I have heard the same as @The_protagonist about the Beta set, Beta would more or less contain the same cards with some corrections, no Frazetta cards, and a card removed. There has also been talks of a Revised set that will be further away from Alpha/Beta, but I don't think that is something coming anytime soon.
For beta, i did all my pre order through team covenant, all in all i went with 10 boxes and four precons... mostly to have one or two to give out to friends tonget them into it. I prdered 4 more blxes after hearing about the different promo card
That sounds like a solid order, and I think a lot of people ended up ordering in two rounds, because they wanted to get the second promo card as well. We would love to have a bigger store to order with like Team Covenant here in Europe, we are trying to patchwork together enough supply through several stores and it ends up being pretty expensive in terms of shipping.
I did the early preorder for 2 boxes, one to open and one to closet. When the regular preorder came with a different box topper I ordered 2 more from Team Covenant. My plan was to buy 4 more boxes or so in the regular release to support a local store and hopefully for a lower price. If print run is in the 50-60k box range I'm afraid prices will never be lower in which case I would preorder more now. I'll also buy alpha/beta singles to complete a playset, again expecting alpha singles prices to drop upon beta release. My understanding is they will print one set per year and 2024 will be Arthurian Legends. I love this print speed as MTG is way too fast, but does that mean we won't see another core set until at least 2025? In that case if the game becomes popular how will 2x the alpha print run be enough to last until then? It will be too expensive for many players. I would support multiple print runs of beta in this situation as long as they manage the chase/collector cards well.
Hi there! I know several people ended up ordering a few extra boxes from Team Covenant, when they saw the new promo card. I think it is very difficult to speculate on prices for Alpha and how Beta will affect prices and to a degree the print run number of Beta will also impact Alpha. We had thought that the prices would calm down just a bit when US got their fulfilment and the prices didn't take the dip everyone was expecting and rather they have been more or less constantly going up. We got surprised that all our shops in Denmark suddenly closed for preorders, so we are still a little short on boxes, but we just saw that one German store is talking about a second print run in November, so it seems they are going with several print runs. They declared from the beginning of the Kickstarter that they wanted to produce a casual game with a yearly release, and then recently they opened up for the thought of once in a while doing smaller sets, and we know that there is one such planned, a small mini set focused on Dragons with Ed. Beard Jr. as the artist. We don't know the plan for future sets more intimately, but there is talk of a Revised set at some points with bigger changes than between Alpha and Beta, but there is no specific schedule for it yet, for future sets you can check out this video: th-cam.com/video/iOyYlQkmGHg/w-d-xo.html We will have to see, but as I said in the video I have a lot of faith in the teams ability to manage the game, and I for one am beyond excited to see Arthurian Legends, which will be on the smaller side, according to Simon. 😉
@@CardboardGuide Thanks for the info! The mini set sounds fun. I also trust the creators to manage the game well but I hope they are transparent about their print numbers and possibility of additional print runs.
That sounds like you are ready to have some fun with the Beta set, are you wanting to collect or just want to have enough cards for deck building? There should be playmats available through the LGS as well, otherwise once you get the hang of the grid, it should be possible to use any playmat to play on. 😉
@@CardboardGuidewanting to collect. I want to ensure I have a full playset of cards. I bought 2 boxes of alpha + precons. Missed the kickstarter but have been able to get a decent amount of cards to build different decks. I don’t sell cards but will be looking to trade so I can get cards I’m missing.
Sorcery is amazing. Really looking forward to the future of this game. Alpha should be expensive if done correctly . As the prints come out for future sets the price will be more affordable. Alpha should be expensive.
I would love to get into this game. But can anyone explain to me why this also cost a 150 euros instead of the 80 to 90,- euro 4 years ago? Inflation bro.....yea that alone would not add up...
Thank you for checking out the video. I think that one of the aspects making this a very unique TCG is the purely handmade art, which is something rarely seen. It is something that often costs more than the digital art, which can also be great, and makes for a completely different pace than most other TCGs. If box prices are not to you liking the precons are extremely affordable and there is a pretty good singles sale already. 😊
Be aware this is the startup Hype.... hope it lasts for you, but wait half a year and let's see what happens. Have a great week. 🤘🦁🤘. Did you receive the postcard yet? Should have made it by now... 😬
Looks like the Sorcery content gets more traction than MTG, but in honesty... if the balance gets off people will leave, maybe make a new / separate channel and ofcource combine in the CNN... 🤓
@savannahlion3081 We have a Commander Masters commander decks video on Friday, so we feel like we are talking about both our main games, and switching between the games depending on the news. We still play and enjoy Magic at least a couple of times per week, and we are incredibly excited for Wilds of Eldraine, and we have a lot of Magic videos planned now that people are starting to open Commander Masters, so plenty of Magic content coming up as well. 😍 Managing two channels would be too much, since we both have full time jobs and our three kiddos, so hopefully people chose to watch the videos that they enjoy and skip it if there is something that they are not into. We enjoy several games and would love to reflect that on the channel that people can enjoy several games at once, and I feel like being into and knowing more games is good for adding some more nuanced perspectives. We hope you stick around since it wouldn't be the same without our Lion. Thank you, it came yesterday, but we have been out with the kids all day until now, so we look forward to opening it tonight. ❤
Hi there, we tried digging into the Discord, Kickstarter news, old Kickstarter videos and interview with the team, but we weren't able to find anything solid on the way Beta would be handled, so we tried to cover all the different options in the video.
I was gonna buy some from Rudy once he offers the beta he is gonna sell. So the only way to get the main playable characters from the alpha pre-con decks... is to get them from that? Dang
Hi there @Dstinct Do you know more about this and when this happened? We would be very interested to hear more, as we were under the impression that several new stores in Canada had just announced that they were taking preorders.
While I think that would be extremely cool, I think the way Simon framed it was pretty categorical with Frazetta being Alpha exclusive and the "only" Frazetta card in Beta being the Headless Haunt Promo. But you never know since the Curios technically are outside of the set itself and they do like to add some surprise, like the Brom Curio, but I am sure we will get some awesome Curios in Beta as well! Thanks for checking out the video. ;)
I think what some people are forgetting is this is not a different set. So a 60k print run is equivalent to an 89k print run if you add alpha. Every new TCG that has neared a total print run for a set of 100k in the first 2 years has done tremendous [sometimes irreparable] damage to their game [i.e. Metazoo and FAB]. They have no player base to support the game if investors/collectors flee and they will flee if the print run is too high.
Thanks for watching, I think you have some really great point here. I think this is a good point, even though there are a few difference, the core of the Beta set is exactly the same as the Alpha. Right now a lot of built of excitement and hype for Sorcery has unleashed and with it the prices quickly went up, but there isn't a large player base yet and I think Beta needs to account for that fact. I hope they print it moderately and then if the game continues to grow a lot, they could perhaps move up the already Revised printing and make a larger print run of that set.
There is a ton of misinformation here In Fab’s case, if you don’t make product accessible to grow a worldwide player base that actually plays the game, you’re doing it wrong…and yes, thousands upon thousands play the game and that number has been consistently growing. Keeping future print runs purposefully low to only cater to investors/collectors is a sure fire way to die in the TCG space
My guess for the print run is 75-85k. 60k seems to low for the current demand and needed room for sorcery to grow. In addition most bakers I heard so far they ordered more boxes as they did on kickstarter.
I think that 60K would be low for the current demand, but I think at least part of Beta print run would be printed before we saw the total demand, but that is merely speculation on my part. If the Beta set need to be at distribution, having passed shipping, customs, etc., in order to be ready worldwide before release October 6th, as I think the team are doing everything in their power to make sure they keep that date. This is where the method of printing becomes interesting: if it is a one and done printing, the print run is what it is, if they do it in waves and can see there is demand enough for a second print run, they are able to adjust to the market. Thank you for checking out the video and leaving a comment for discussion, we appreciate it.
As a Rudy patreon myself (Sofie), I am getting the sense that Rudy will have, relatively speaking, some boxes, but not a lot. He has already said a couple of times in his videos that there is not enough for all the patreons and he is trying to "cushion" the sale a bit, so people won't be too disappointed, but whether this means he has maybe 50 cases, or he has 200 cases, I don't know. But definitely a valid point that Rudy has a sale a well, and he also plays heavily into the current attention around the game. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.
Please be careful about what you consider to be a "Fact". Just because you heard from 1 Innkeeper that heard from his distributor that they will be offered a certain allocation in no way makes it a fact. Unless someone like Simon or Eric confirms this, it's just hearsay. It may very well turn out to be true, but there's no way you can say that's a fact. Even if it is true today, plans can change between now and release. Nothing wrong with speculating about the print run sizes, but please don't state something is a fact if it is not. Don't mean to come off as a jerk, just offering up some constructive criticism. Keep up the great work you do!
Thank you for the comment and the feedback, it is duly noted. We tried to give as much context in the video as possible for this statement in the video. We have the information from two different stores that there is a fixed amount of cases that each Innkeeper is offered as guaranteed allocation a part of their perks of being an Innkeeper along with additional Social Store Kits. We also know that Simon in the latest video update spoke of a "limited guaranteed allocation" for Innkeepers, so we feel that it seems fairly reasonable that there is a guaranteed allocation and the two stores gave the same number independently of each other. However, things can change (but that is always true for most things), if we find out something is incorrect we will absolutely make another video and get the right information out there, for now we have done everything we can to make sure the information is correct. Thank you for the feedback and your point is well taken, we feel we try to be very conscientious in the way we treat information and try to be as clear as possible about it in our videos.
Solid, there is enough to collect, play, deck build, and keep a little sealed for later. Were you a backer of the Kickstarter or are you getting into the game with Alpha?
there are also other changes in beta precon, they have written that they will cut down on some of the unique cards and make the deck more balanced against each other.
Just as @RadioGambit, and Jens said in the video, the overall composition will be different, since they felt that there were perhaps too many Uniques and I suspect they want the precons to be very cheap in order to have an affordable product for new players coming into the game.
The Beta preorder is open right now, so your store should be able to order Beta, if they want to. Many stores don’t know the game yet, so going to the store talking about the game and showing some cards might sway them. ❤️
Uh, that seems like a good move, some boxes to crack and some fun playable precons! Is there a local environment or friend group you can play Sorcery with? Thank you for watching the video and adding your Beta preorder figures here.
I think there is some truth to that, but the precons are very affordable if people just want to try out the game and I think a lot of people are already having a lot of fun playing. There is still availability in other regions, like Team Covenant where the preorders still available at the same price as from the beginning.
@@CardboardGuide it doesn't matter if the precons are affordable...if they don't print enough Beta the interest in the game will fall off a cliff. They need to build on it now and print enough beta for 2 years worth of supply if they're smart. They can ALWAYS reprint especially if they are selling out. If the company doesn't take advantage of the high demand and outprint scalpers the game will die. They are not in position to take advantage of FOMO like other companies if they want the game to be long term.
I believe they are trying to position themselves in the best possible spot for future growth. I do think accessibility for the precons is important, with the effectively only costing around $40, for all four decks and a free booster pack, that is a great way to try out the game and decide if you want to go buy a box or get singles to deckbuild with.
I’d be perfectly happy if they capped it at 60k
Good luck on your decisions Cus this is tricky.
@@The_Protagonist I think problem is how much to allocate from that 60k to US, EU, Asia etc. It might be that US is only 20k Beta boxes total.
@@wigiti won’t bother me a bit.

I ordered 6 beta boxes from 3 different lgs to spread the love ! (I had my fair share of alpha hehe don't really need to go crazy on Beta) .Marco
I’m in the same boat. Few boxes across a few diff shops. Alpha was just the tip, I’m ready for more!

We ordered across a few European shops to make sure we a least got some boxes, and in the hopes of actually getting the promo card. Great that you had a lot of Alpha, did you manage to pull a full set together? Thanks, we appreciate it. We really enjoy making Sorcery content and the community is really great, so if our videos can help new players and the community that is just really great. ❤️
Grabbed the precons and two boxes. Buddy and me agreed to only play with stuff we pulled and matched my purchase. Can't wait!
Thanks for checking out the video! That will be awesome, I am sure it will be a lot of fun and those precons are super affordable -and even a include a little booster treat. 😉
Really good video! Thank you a lot, great job! 😉
Thank you! 😃 We appreciate it.
Jens taking a page out of my book with the metal shirt 😅
Ordered 2 boxes 2 precons 1 playmat... so far!
Indeed, the metal shirts just add that nerd vibe, so you know we are legit. :D That seems like a good place (to start), where would you ideally like to end and how many boxes would you like to open for Beta?
@CardboardGuide I'll probably end up with 6 ish. Got the itch to collect beta once I'm done with alpha... however alpha may take a while. Lol
Thanks so much!
Great videos, thank you for your hard work!
Thank you for checking out the video, we really appreciate it and thanks for the kind words, it means all the difference to us. 🙏

I just want a cheaper philosopher's stone! 😂
Ha, ha, don’t we all! Thanks for checking out the video!
Yayayyayyyyy!!! 🎉 love your vids! Ordered 4 boxes but will support some LGS and order more
@@trifektion4030 these 2 are more than awesome! I'm hoping I can become a member next month!
Hi there, thanks for leaving a comment and for the kind words! ;)
We have orders at three different stores, trying to make sure we actually get a buy a box promo (we have been burned by stores with MTG promos in the past) and in case one store doesn't have enough boxes to go around, but they are smaller orders and we want to make another order, we just need to figure out how many cases we should go in for.
With regards to Beta information, here are the few things off the top of my head that I hope EC confirms relatively soon:
5. Print runs, as you guess in this video
6. Will there be any further base set released beyond Beta? There's speculation of a "Revised", but so far as I can tell nothing has been announced.
7. Will there be binders for Beta?
8. Will there be tokens for Beta.... and will they be anything bigger than 1/4th size?
I'm sure I'm missing a couple other questions I had, tut this is what came to me just now.
boxtoppaaaaa!! 😱😜
Ha, ha the saga of the Box Toppas lives on! Thanks for checking out the video, hope the last of your vacation is going well!
@@CardboardGuideof course we re keeping it alive! but i honestly hope stores will actually deliver the bkx topper and not sell it on ebay.
good video!
Thank you! I think personally 50-60K feels great, but I would feel a little uncertain about anything over that.
And fortunately it seems like there is a lot of demand and the game is getting a lot of eyes, which is great!
great content thank you
Thank you for checking out the video and taking the time to leave a comment! We really appreciate it! 🙌🏻
I ordered 2 pre con decks and 2 booster boxes. I’m considering buying a couple more booster boxes 🤔 to try and get a compete beta set.
The last thing stated was “we will be removing 1 card and making adjustments to several cards”. Or something very close to that.
We don't know the plan for future sets more intimately, but there is talk of a Revised set at some points with bigger changes than between Alpha and Beta, but there is no specific schedule for it yet, for future sets you can check out this video:
th-cam.com/video/iOyYlQkmGHg/w-d-xo.html
We will have to see, but as I said in the video I have a lot of faith in the teams ability to manage the game, and I for one am beyond excited to see Arthurian Legends, which will be on the smaller side, according to Simon. 😉
@@CardboardGuide Thanks for the info! The mini set sounds fun. I also trust the creators to manage the game well but I hope they are transparent about their print numbers and possibility of additional print runs.
7 boxes and 1 precon. Saw someone mentioned a playmat, bleh totally forgot to get one. Will have to go find one.
Hi there, sorry your comment had been hidden. Feel free to join the Discord for more Sorcery and also to find trades. ;)
TeamCovenant still taking preorders
Indeed, we also mentioned this, but in general in Europe and Canada a lot of preorders were closed, at least temporarily.
Sorcery is amazing. Really looking forward to the future of this game. Alpha should be expensive if done correctly . As the prints come out for future sets the price will be more affordable. Alpha should be expensive.
Absolutely, Sorcery is great! I think there is a lot of exciting things in the future and some great sets!
Managing two channels would be too much, since we both have full time jobs and our three kiddos, so hopefully people chose to watch the videos that they enjoy and skip it if there is something that they are not into.
@@CardboardGuide We mean the same I think... just enjoy it ! 🤗
I can't find it but I'm sure I heard somewhere official (maybe?) that beta was to be a single print run --not waves.
Dang
Yeah, unfortunately :( You can also get them in foil in the alpha set, but that is helluva expensive.
@@CardboardGuide proxies it is!
It looks like Canada's distributor is sold out of Beta boxes, and they are already allocating stores.
Hi there @Dstinct Do you know more about this and when this happened? We would be very interested to hear more, as we were under the impression that several new stores in Canada had just announced that they were taking preorders.
Do you think curio cards in beta could be still cards with Frank Frazetta art?
Would be awesome!
Don't forget that rudy will be probably getting 1000+boxes.
I pre-ordered 2.5 cases from two different sources
Solid, there is enough to collect, play, deck build, and keep a little sealed for later. Were you a backer of the Kickstarter or are you getting into the game with Alpha?
Do you know if all the cards in the beta precon (other than the Avatars) are going to be the same as the card list of the Alpha precons?
there are also other changes in beta precon, they have written that they will cut down on some of the unique cards and make the deck more balanced against each other.
Just as @RadioGambit, and Jens said in the video, the overall composition will be different, since they felt that there were perhaps too many Uniques and I suspect they want the precons to be very cheap in order to have an affordable product for new players coming into the game.
Cant even preorder beta at my shop yet
The Beta preorder is open right now, so your store should be able to order Beta, if they want to.
Many stores don’t know the game yet, so going to the store talking about the game and showing some cards might sway them. ❤️
Two booster boxes and a set of the beta decks.
Uh, that seems like a good move, some boxes to crack and some fun playable precons! Is there a local environment or friend group you can play Sorcery with? Thank you for watching the video and adding your Beta preorder figures here.

Thank you, we appreciate it! ❤️
i think there are enough boxes now, the prices of the cards have gotten too low now for collectors
I don’t know that they are too low for collectors, but I do feel like there are enough out there, that a reprint might be too much.
Just a bunch of old dudes buying up all the product to resell. Kids won’t be able to get product and there will be no one to play the game.
