Only two of the three bandits showed up tonight, one of whom is now sporting a wonky opossum tail. Let's hope it gets that sorted out soon.

They are hungry and quite slim for this time of the year.. I love their little clown faces 😍
I fed Raccoons for about 15 years and found that if they’re well nourished, they tend to heal quite well. I was never growled at, nor threatened in any way by them. They became well accustomed to my being around and accepted me as company. They’re curious, clever, and great fun to be around. Enjoy them Patrick, even if they have a cranky day, they won’t maul you and then eat you! Beware the cranky Bear…(sigh)😂😂🍸😜😜

Little sweetie looks to perhaps have had an injury. The smooth pink in bald area speaks perhaps of an injury as opposed to a bad dermatitis or other skin issue. I have seen that on the feral kitties or the rescue dogs I work with, after being hit by car or other bad injury. It hasn't impaired his natural curiosity at all. How beautiful they are. Thank you Patrick for always being a safe haven for the wild ones.

Hi Patrick, looks like one of the dogs or another raccoon got into a fight with him. They are so timid coming back around now. Coyote mating season. They get more aggressive. We've over 100 here on the island, and people are increasingly reporting incidents when walking their dogs

Patrick - I think the poor little guy has mange and that can be treated by sticking medicine in food. I don’t think the medicine is expensive, and it works!

Those poor raccoons are over fed though and he mostly gives them hot dogs which are so high in sodium. They would be better served with some eggs, fruits, vegetables, nuts of even bird seed.
@awrinkleintimeyesterday6067 actually, he gives them low sodium chicken dogs. And when he gives them veggies, they mostly ignor them. They love grapes, though

@awrinkleintimeyesterday6067 I watched him regularly in the pandemic. He mentioned it frequently because he had to drive around town to Walmart and the dollar stores, looking for them. He personally thinks that they smell and taste awful. But that's what they like, and it's a little better for them. In the end, they'll eat trash if he doesn't feed them. So much for the palate and healthy food. 😄 I forget which fruits he says he has tried to feed them. I think strawberries and bananas and maybe melon, they just don't care for it. Oh Patrick, the raccoons are too cute! Curious little critters aren't they!? My raccoons visit nightly (I feed them dry dog food, grapes and peanut butter sandwiches). It's baby season. Fat,pregnant Mamas and scruffy-looking Papas! To me, that means spring is right around the corner and the bears will be back soon!

Aww poor baby , looks like something got a hold of him .I have one here that was attacked and somebody has been keeping it clean ,it has no hair on one side of its neck where I can see a bite mark.😢I think that raccoon came to see you for some help the others have told him about you and the kindness that happens here. Word gets around quickly about kindness to animals.

Dry dog food, marshmallows, nuts, grapes, should get you started. @James Blackwood Raccoon Whisperer & @Oonsday are good examples for food.
You may have to watch older ones since they are only starting to come out of their dens after winter.

If the mange is left untreated, animals may die of exhaustion or dehydration or as the result of a secondary infection.
It appears mangy , from what I understand, a person shouldn’t touch a mangy critter, I’ve caught some mangy coyote before, and buried them on the spot
I've watched a guy on TH-cam feeding raccoons hotdogs. They love them and brought their friends. Maybe try that.
