      Man, where to begin? 😂 Georgia struggling for 3 quarters against UMass is my honorable mention. HoweverI gotta go with Oklahoma completely shutting down Bama. I mean Jalen Milroe might have played his way out of being drafted early in the 1st round with that performance. But honestly, the most shocking thing, was that we got all of these upsets in one week! Anybody else getting flashbacks to "The Year of Upsets," 2007? 12-2 LSU beating 11-2 Ohio State in the BCS championship game, because of all the top 2 teams losing in front of them week after week? No? Just me?

      3 losses can't get in I agree, but Bama, Ole Miss, and half the SEC would mop Indiana. They've played no one, the SEC slaughters itself but they are clearly the best I don't think anyone denies that.

    The 300-odd yards of total offense is misleading. Ohio State had a short field for a lot of the game. They only punted twice the entire game, a 3-and-out on the first drive and another at the end of the third quarter. They drove 75 yds for a TD and 83 yds to the 1 yard line before they were stopped. Their other long-field possession they had back to back penalties and kicked a field goal. Indiana made them work for it but they weren't really stopping them.

    • @andrewgiegerich8211
      @andrewgiegerich8211 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +17

      They played them good until they imploded on special teams
      They stopped them 4 times actually a turnover is a stop and they had an intercom as well

    • @TheSchaef47
      @TheSchaef47 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +14

      @andrewgiegerich8211 obviously Ohio State did not score on every single drive. I'm talking about the 300 yards of offense was not because Indiana was dominating on the line, or smothering the receivers, or anything like that. Ohio State only had 56 recorded plays. That's over 5-1/2 yards per play. Indiana had roughly the same number of plays, same time of possession, half the yards and six punts (including the muffed one). THAT is stopping an offense.

      One game doesn't change your narrative, OU is a terrible team still with a DC posing as a head coach. BV is in over his head. This win was more a indictment on Bama and the dropoff from Saban, than a positive about OU. OU scraped by a bad Auburn team, and needed some hail Mary type plays to get by......Houston. Houston, really?
      That being said, LSU is terrible, I give Zero U a good chance of winning that game too.
      OU needs a rebuild and change in culture, and better players to be good year in and year out. With so many programs recruiting Tx now, OU will not be getting the caliber of players they used to every year, recruiting will be more crucial to win in the SEC.

      Idk what they were doing vs Bowling Green, but USC and Minnesota are better than their records indicate and both were on the road. Both teams have lost a few close games this year. In a world of increasing college football parity, a few plays here and there is the only difference between 8-2 or 9-1 and 6-4 or 5-5.
      For example, the week before Penn St played USC, USC was ranked about #12. They lose a one score game on the road vs Minnesota and the AP poll dropped them over 13 spots and out of the top-25. If they had played one week earlier, Penn St would have another ranked win. I aslo wouldn't be surprised if USC goes out and beats ND this week.

      Stop using the injury excuse, it's called having depth at the skill positions, every team has to deal with multiple injuries every year, they don't beat that same drum like Zero U does. If anything, that is a huge red flag and failure on your S&C program that your players keep getting hurt. You don't have SEC type players, is one reason, and your S&C program is apparently failing also. Development, its necessary to have at this level at all positions, OU doesn't have it. Its a 1 point loss on the road across multiple time zones in what was a really competitive team (#1 vs #2). are we just to say that ALL games where you lose you lost because it was 'too big'? And not just you were about as evenly matched as could be vs a respectable team? Indiana was not prepared. Georgia absolutely was not prepared in the first half and ended up losing to a bad team. But there's got to be a winner and loser in top 5 matchups and sometimes it is not down to preparation, merely the fact that the game desires a winner.

    I’m not about to say that OU hasn’t been awful this year with all of the injuries and offensive complications. The difference in this game is that they finally committed to the qb run and was able to generate some decent offense, enough to control the clock and field position.
    The offensive line finally had some continuity and knew what they were doing.
    That defensive performance though was not a fluke. That’s what BV has been building and they put together a full game.
    Not claiming any national championships by any means - but them OU boys are coming.

    The more I think about it the more I believe some players at Alabama threw that game. It’s a speculative world. Just can’t make any sense of that performance.
    Looked like Milroe layed down more than a few times. Then the half hearted slide to impede the pick six.
    I don’t think those players want the coach they currently have.
    It just doesn’t add up.

    How good of a metric is SOS anyway? Indiana basically jumps up 50 spots for getting their doors blown off by Ohio State, but they only have 3 wins over teams above .500 (all 6-5).
    Meanwhile, Notre Dame’s SOS is substantially below them, but they have 6 wins (twice as many!) over teams with at least 7 wins.
    Yes, ND’s SOS is really suffering from how down FSU and USC are. I just find it curious that IU gets a huge SOS bump for a stinker at OSU when ND’s schedule has consistently been stronger than IU’s.

    There is no way people can say that if Penn State and Indiana had to play an SEC schedule, they would not have 2 or more losses. They deserve to be in the playoff because they have done what they need to do to get there. If they had to play Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia's schedule, they would have 2 or more losses.

    I like Joel, but his homerism sometimes speaks loudly. Has made 0 comments on Shilo Sanders cheap shots all year to the head area, but the hit on Shedeur gets airtime… interesting

      He may be worried about being assaulted by Shiloh...like the janitor at Sanders former school...

    Thank you, Joel. EXCELLENT JOB micro analyzing this. It's exactly how it is. Indiana losing to #2 team drops SOS to 52, should stay at 5. Definitely home game 1st round CFP. YOU NEED TO BE IN THE CFP COMMITTEE ROOM JOEL!!!!!
    The Scariest teams to make a run in CFP if records didn't matter based on play. 1 KANSAS 2 ARIZONA ST 3 OHIO ST 4 NOTRE DAME 5 SOUTH CAROLINA

    Putting a team in the playoffs even without a SINGLE win against a good team is a terrible precedent to set. Teams will now be incentivized to schedule the easiest possible schedule

      Tell that to currently #3 Texas

      teams do not get a choice on their conference schedules so they can't do that much teams in the BIG and SEC will have to play good teams regardless if they want to or not

      @@iPlayTossTexas at least went out of conference and clowned Michigan.

      @travisn346 beating an opponent who is 6-5 (likely finishes 6-6) is not a quality win still, even if it is a blue blood program and current defending National Champions. Much like Indiana right now, Texas has played 1 team that is still ranked and lost to them. They do have a chance to correct that this week, but then again if Texas wins is A&M still a ranked teams at the end of the regular season?
