Bruh that thing is has the potential to be one of the best short range air defense nato has acess to. The 23 mm is no joke and paired with grom missles will make it a absolute beast

To be clear this polish system has a seperate radar unit. The Gun system has only the 23mm guns and GROM Manpads integrated.
it has also fancy sights and one of thhe versions you saw in this material can engaged targets without men crew.

Fun fact: The Soviets use to take the 23mm barrels that didn't pass QA (I know the Soviets having a QA is wild), cut them down and make a shotgun out of it called the KS-23. Mainly available in Russia, there was one guy who got a hold of a parts kit and fabricated everything else with a 3D printer and lots of magic. He even had to experiment on making the ammo for the damn thing. Garand Thumb also had the guy bring his gun out on a video. Also featured in Black Ops 1 mission at the launch site and also Escape from Tarkov.

I i recall corectly my grandpa told me that during war they had mulriple ZSU 23 placed across town that were all pointed out in one point in the air to make a defensive net and they managed to destroy a 1 or 2 Mig-29 and he sead that it was a firely fireball when the bullets hit it

At this point it looses it's charm of being cheap and "just works". Now you need batteries and a good environment to store it in, so the delicate electronic systems don't get damaged.
One HUGE difference. USA uses weapons under International Law guidelines. Russia does not. Any questions?

Phew I am slightly underwhelmed tbh…two old strelas and a cannon older than my mom strapped on a truck…
The 23 mm is a cannon that has been shooting down us planes since it entered service. It is an absolute unit and it has more potential than most other nato short range air defense because of the astronomical fire rate and relative low cost of the system. And those aren’t strelas they are the polis modernized variant which probably are significantly better

@@lilhombrae3532any country that uses manually aimed guns only does so because they can’t afford anything else. Also the US hasn’t lost a single plane to auto cannon AA fire in over 4 decades. Not to mention a 2.5km range is only half the effective range of the A-10s gun, and a quarter of the max range of a hellfire.
The only military’s that should fear AA-guns are those to poor to use stand-off weapons or to stupid to avoid them. That’s specifically why smaller nations within range of Russia use them.
Plus with an active radar they’re just asking for a HARM missile down their throats.
I’d rather have a single C-ram than 4 of those, at least with a C-ram you can intercept missiles and indirect fire as well as stupid pilots.
It's not a radar - it's passive optotronics. The missiles are not Striełas but Pioruns - currently the best VSHORAD missile system in the world ( bought also by the US military and several other NATO countries). Anything that comes within 5kms is in a death zone.
Any anti-aircraft weapon w/o a radar-guided fire control system is an anti-ground target weapon at best. Also, 20-25mm is old news: 30-35mm is the most-favored projectile for the latest autcannons, regardless of application.
Send them to Ukraine and test them against the Russians
