SkinnyMedic how did you carry your ifak prior to the wps ankle kit? was there any 'break-in' period, where you were getting used to the bulk around your ankle?
His set up is a little backwards, but I work construction and in the last year. I have had to use mine twice and I gotta say, on of the times the guy injured would have lost his life if not at least his hand. But today he is doing just fine.
I wear this as part of my EDC - it’s the best I’ve found! Yeah - I added the same chest seals too. Plus there’s room for more good stuff so this is definitely the best on the market ! Love the review !
You my favourite TH-cam channel and my favourite man in the world. Keep doing more. And please make a video about the full protective suit please. Thank you 😍🥰🌷♥️
I've had mine about 1½ weeks and it is truly comfortable. I did get the NARS shorter shears (about 1" shorter) and that made some diff. Regular Levi's are too tight (505) but I got a pair of 517s, the boot cut and it is fine.
I typically wear straight leg jeans or slacks, but if I were wearing cargo pants or boot cut jeans, then I think this would fit nicely. I particularly like how much stuff it carries. It just depends if you’re willing to carry the extra bulk.
Something I carry in this kit, is gloves in the side pocket, but also a single dose packet of aspirin and Diphen. Allergy and heart in mind. They are about 30 cents each if that.
Ok, so this kit is primarily for off-duty use. Good to know. Better than your standard first aid box, because you're much less likely to set it down somewhere and forget about it. I go camping a few times a year with my family, so I may look into one of these. Thanks for the recommendation!
I was thinking about getting this kit next month. What, in your expertise, could one add to it and make it an option for just a regular Joe as myself? I don't have medical experience so it would be for emergencies where I could supply someone else in need. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
I'd like to hear you think about the weight of the whole kit. I've carried the same amount of stuff on the "Wilderness" Ankle Kit and it was annoyingly heavy.
As a wise man named clint smith once said “who the fuck said carrying a gun is supposed to be comfortable?” The same applies here. Who cares how it feels? It’s supposed to potentially save your life.
I'm going to start with; I am no expert by any means and before the trolls crawl from under their rocks, this is ONLY MY OPINION. I rely on a logical methodology when prepping a load out, weather it be EDC, Recreation, Mission critical, etc. The gear in this kit is top of the line - no doubt. The reason for carrying this kit is solid. Your review is on point as always. Where this kit is carried is debatable. When I plan an IFAK, I tend to formulate my plan on the worst possible scenarios. Worst case for me would be abdominal trauma that would prevent me from reaching my ankle in a solo scenario. I usually position an IFAK somewhere within easy reach of either hand. Usually waist level or higher. I also would position the kit where it is visible and easily accessible to any other member of my team if needed. This, in my humble opinion, is a novelty placement, "tacticool" but not realistically effective in any scenario where you would feel the need to carry such a serious kit.
Joel R. I am going to agree with that i am not sold on in Ifak around my ankle . Also unless your waring loafers It will not work with boots and if you do any water crossing its toast

I bought one and was very disappointed. The pouches slots are very small. I wasnt even planning to put alot of things in there. And what i planned to place in there did not fit.
Love your videos but I have 2 questions. What size NPA do you recommend and did you have to have a prescription to obtain the chest decompression needle?
For an NPA measure it from the tip of the nose to your earlobe/ angle of the jaw to get the right size for you. as far as the chest decompression needle you can get them on amazon
28 French will fit most adults males. That's why the 28 comes in most IFAKs, because they are going to be likely used by a military and therefore most potential patients will be adult males. Measure from tip of nose to angle of jaw.
@@wcsoblake85 No problem man, just make sure you're buying it for use on yourself unless you are qualified to use it. For example, I'm an EMT in california but am not trained nor qualified to use a decompression needle which is why I personally don't carry one in my IFAK. Why the sudden compliment of “world standard” for the Quikclot? Prior to this your general mindset was that it was only slightly better than packing gauze. Did something change?
Neither. He said GOLD standard. And yes, QuikClot is superior to packing gauze because it has, as he said, hemostatic agents as well as the physical component to staunch bleeding. And whether or not he believes that personally, he is acknowledging that the majority of the EMS community does think highly of this product.

A common technique how to check someone for bleeding is running your gloved hands over parts of their body one by one and then looking at the gloves to check if there is blood smeared over them.
