    My favorite song from my favorite RPG of all time. It puts a tear in my eye every time. Thedas may be a fantasy world far removed from our own, but their struggles, hopes, fears, terrors, hates, loves are our own in another form. It is second only to Middle-earth as my favorite fantasy setting of all time. Thank you Inon Zur for crafting the music that helped make it so and is such an immensely important part of the experience 💙💙.

    I remember the game’s release in 09. It was a rough year for me, and playing through til about Christmas time on my first ever playthrough. (Yeah I am slow as I was trying to get side quests done, and experience the banter between the characters). Getting to the credits and I was just soaking in what a fun and indelible adventure I had with that game. So I immediately started another one. It’s not often that happens to me.

    This song will always remind me of playing Dungeons and Dragons back in college. We'd all be crammed in our DM's dorm room. He'd play this song as he set up to get us all in the mood.
    He and I were the only Dragon Age fans in our friend group, but we'd gotten everyone else into it by the end of senior year.

      I am going through all of DAO + DLCs + Mods chronologically for the first time ever, many years after playing it last time. About to ransack the Mother's face with Arcane Warrior solo. This is a good feeling.
      No matter the class or Origin, the Hero of Ferelden is an absolute beast that's rightfully treated with reverence by all Thedas.

    This has the most impact in the ending credits when the character is played with utter selflessness and the character's conclusion is one of ultimate self sacrifice. The sequels have paled ever since in their storytelling and musical scores. I hope Dread Wolf will rectify this lapse.

    Reminds me of my rogue Janessa (Female) and my duel wielding warrior named Aragorn (Male). Two of the most OP characters I ever made. When I played through the game over a hundred times (Literally) and finally perfected builds for both melee classes. This brings back so many memories and all the nights I fell asleep with the game still on, my character chilling next to the camp fire, the sounds of the game in the background as I doze off. Sometimes I wish I was in that universe, in the Dragon Age universe, to be my character. This will always truly be my favorite game.

    • @InjusticeJosh
      @InjusticeJosh ปีที่แล้ว

      Speaking about OP I also felt for the first time since Mass Effect (this game managed to do it without voice acting) that my custom character really was this strong and imposing figure revered by not only the characters but me the player as well. Some games the custom character feels like he’s lead on by the other characters but here _you_ feel that _you_ are that character. The protagonist. The hero of Ferelden.

    My Cousland was just a traumatized charming witty kid, of the rogue class. Who loved women, cared for honor, defense of children, and loyalty/respect to friends and men likewise. He defended Ferelden.
    Sure he was sleeping with basically Morrigan, Leliana and Sweet talked Zevran. and Banged Isabel with Zevran. But hell it was his way of recovery of betrayal that had been dealt with him by Howe and the slaughter of his family.
    In the end, he chooses to walk through the Eluvian with Morrigan
    Alas, we hear this play in Witch's Hunts credits

    One of the best franchises that never reached its true potential. Analyzing in hindsight it is quite clear that the head writer for the first 3 games set the rest of the series for failure with his insistence that Dragon Age is not about Darkspawn and more about the Age.
    As a consumer the first game gave me the impression of what this new franchise was all about and in Dragon Age 2 that's what I expected. That's why I still think the first minutes of the second game gives me what I want and then it takes a nosedive and becomes a boring tale about being stuck in a city.
    Dragon Age should have been about The Darkspawn, the mysteries of the fade and how it is all related. Also the mystery of Flemeth at the time and the hype about what Morrigan says at the end of Witch hunt.
    Dragon Age 3: a little too late and the game mechanics didn't help.
    Veilguard... Dragon what? (Sorry I already moved on and saw the writing in the wall by Dragon Age 3 which by the way i stopped playing after 1 hour).
    They should had kept The Warden as the main character too.
    For better or for worse Mass Effect did better because they kept things consistent ( everybody knows what happened when they changed the winning formula with Andromeda...).
    Unfortunately with that writing blunder Dragon Age will always be a one game wonder. The head writer made a huge mistake.

      @xoxin_- 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Well said
      Honestly, I don't hate the idea of exploring the age.
      But all 3 DA games should've been about the same thing.
      The biggest issue with DA is it tends to throw out everything after just one game. Sure, there might be a nod here and there or something might be in the background. But that's not the same as being the focus. Each entry in the series feels very disconnected from one another.

    • @gromdal9293
      @gromdal9293 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But the dragon age IS about all these things you said. Darkspawn, blight and the old gods, and Veilguard will double down on that.

    • @tenshiigarashi4063
      @tenshiigarashi4063 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Replaying DA2 after replaying DAO recently. After going down the same corridor, the same cave and the blooming rose for the 245th time I'm already sick. It is quite ridiculous how the game actually looks graphically unpleasing compared to DAO when DA2 is obviously superior in the graphics department but still, they managed to make the graphics blurry and visually appalling . DA2 definitely needs to be played with texture mods.
