    I had another plan so I didn't have to choose. I bought both and will put them in place of a humbucker. Will have coil split in volume and selector in tone pot. Well, I have an extra 2x3 pick-up selector so might do some other tricks too. Have a Ronnie Wood LTD T-type with a neck Duncan '59 on neck which will be replaced. If this works, I'll patent the idea. ;D

    Both produce great sounds in the right hands. So I guess it all comes down to your setup, and whatever works for you. I ve been using a twang king set for years. yes, It is on the smoother side, but it does pair up great with my vox ac15 - od3-bd2-rat rig, which can get pretty darn chimey and top end heavy

    That twang king in the neck, combined with your playing, is wonderful. Is it a particularly noisy pickup? I play with clean sounds.

    • @Arturlesicki
      @Arturlesicki  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A level of noise is the same as other pickups. Nothing special...

    I liked the twisted tele better, it felt by rolling the tone knob a little it can sound as close to twang king but not the other way round is possible. Great playing btw...

    Great demo! I love the twisted tele neck!!! I have the same pickup in my ash tele with a rosewood board but my tone (and playing) is not as good as yours.. mine sound darker and have a bit less clarity.. I’m thinking I may have to adjust the height a bit.. do you recall how high you set your twisted tele neck height from the strings???

    • @Arturlesicki
      @Arturlesicki  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello. I don't like to set pickup very close...compression appears. It is about 0,5-0,7 cm with open strings

    • @someoneelse101
      @someoneelse101 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      DiMarzio usually recommend setting the pickups closer to the strings than other single coils. But if you do that the signal will become muddy and sustain will be sacrificed. Ideally the neck pivkup should be set as close to the pickguard as possible with enough headroom between it and the strings. Same with both humbuckers of all sizes and single coils alike.
      The bridge pickup should be set slightly higher but distance away from the strings should also be considered. This is how I set my pickups to achieve equilibrium in the low end from both

    I wish DiMarzio would make the Twang King neck, or equivelant for Strats.

      @@Arturlesicki thanks! Have you ever tried a twisted tele set? I heard that the neck PU is overwound, and the set has problems with volume adjustments, is it true?

    • @bigg4454
      @bigg4454 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@somemanon _ Love the set! The neck does in fact use taller magnets to accommodate more windngs, so you heard right. I like the "stratty" sounds that comes from it. The bridge reminds of the Broadcaster pickup. They're pretty close sounding to me with the twisted one being a tad fatter. They sound great together as well. Good balance. Very versatile combo.

      The Twang King blends really well with the Tone Zone T pickup. I found it to be my favourite brand name single coil so far. Plus it features an extra ground lead which is very handy
