2 years to hatch is mind blowing. So much could go wrong in that time.

First time hearing & seeing a parson’s chameleon and my jaw hit the floor- that thing is huge! And also a 2 year incubation? Absolutely nuts.

Amazing camouflage and nasal projections. I give the first place to the elephant-eared chameleon but the Parson’s isn’t far behind.

Monitor species & Old-World Chameleons are hands down my favorite lizards! It’s the latter’s relatively short life-span which have prevented me from keeping them. The Parsons’ are certainly CHONKY BOIS and their much longer life-span in captivity makes me wonder why they aren’t more popular in the pet trade. Granted, all the excellent “mom & pop” specialty pet shops (herps, birds, marine fish, etc) have closed here in NYC during the cursed “C” virus. I’m extremely reluctant to buy any living animal online (unless I personally know the breeder.) Those little Short-Horned Chameleons with their occipital flaps should be renamed the “Dumbo Chameleon!” I never knew there were SO many species of Chameleon! The adage; “‘ya live long enough, ‘ya see everything” rings true regarding these lizards! Kudos to Dāv and his “merry band of herpers” for all this amazing content!

    Dãv,
What about the world's smallest chameleon? Also, the world's smallest vertebrate. A Chameleon you could have squished along your journey to find these other Chameleons. 😮I hope you were very vigilant.
