- Part 4 of my footage from July 1013. I'm way behind on uploading stuff. I probably got about 3 more of these to upload. I've been busy, plus I keep forgetting I still have this to post.

Great video! That grab thing is fascinating to watch, but I have to agree with the general sentiment here. A waste of time and money.
Doing kerbside cleanups is the most fun you can have as a truck driver! I love watching things get crushed. And to see that 5 or 6 tonnes of rubbish at the tip is very satisfying.
I agree. Hand tossing could be faster at times. And doing this would be better. Something new everyday.

+Mike Scott Well, I have been known as "Scabdaddy". Hahaha. Yes, in the past, I have collected some great stuff and made some good money from it. Not much anymore, though. Don't have the room.

I never understood this method for trash collection. I just don’t see this as very efficient.

That grab loader is more bother (and cost) than its worth, the same two guys, without it would have loaded that lot as quick for the same wages. All its doing is making un-necessary mess that either they then have to spend time sweeping up, or it gets left and blows around on the road and neighborhood for weeks.
This is how its done around here. Surrounding cities near sacramento do this same process. I like it. It's fun to watch.

Usually not. If they take their load to their yard, most tree trimmings and wood gets pulled out. Most times they go right to the landfill, or the County's transfer station. Its a darn shame, but cant do much about it. Thanks!
