actually it's a bit different. because stories like this. they would normally be a villain or an anti-hero. but he stayed as himself. besides he already got his revenge. like he said "beating monsters and eating them afterwards. has really changed my life." he basically has nothing else much for him to do. he just have a new goal. get stronger to make sure no one would pick on him and his friends. also help the weak. while you hear others in common going "I need to be stronger and stronger to have my revenge" than just becomes pointless and now they just go "haha in your face I'm stronger than you!" >.> like we get it they're becoming something that they hate. it's refreshing when a revenge story that you don't have to be evil just to get your revenge. than just carry on your day without being a dick to the weak.

I don't think there's a lie ability. sensing lies and making lies are two different things. it's actually refreshing. because how many shows there's some character just get away with alot of shit and mostly lie to mess someone's day up even more?

I know every game pretty much predicates this trope but seriously, you go and wipe a dungeon and you've killed 100's of creatures. I mean, this could be a psychotic episode and you could be butchering entire villages. It just always struck me as weird how comfortable the MC is just wholesale slaughtering entire subterranean ecosystems. 😂
Back in the past monster emerge from their lair attack & loot villages. We now know them as dungeon with treasure they obtained from past villagers and dead mercenary hire to tame the population of the monster in the dungeon. I guess people had forgotten or the author expected people to know this automatically.
people kill people IRL for just money, monsters are hostile and dangerous and raid villages, so it doesn't strike me as particularly inhuman to slaughter them all, humanoid or not especially coming from someone that got his whole family and friends slaughtered by other monsters
