Nitrates are not toxic………I change some water when I hit 80……………my African cichlids are old….and often reproduce…..…so time proves my philosophy on this. Not sure why everyone gets crazy over nitrates.
if u wait longer than a minute like the instructions on the bottle say, then its going to over saturate and not be accurate. this is NOT how to use these strips.

they test the nitrate which causes ammonia
