    Regarding year 11 predicted grades: Say you have progression, so the later semesters you got much better grades than in the earlier ones, do teachers then value the better grades more? Or will the earlier semester grades pull your average down?

    Wait so it’s based on your teachers randomly giving you a grade and an IA at the end of the year and not mock exams? Damn I’m in 9th grade pre ib and I think I should drop. No way teachers gonna be deciding what school I get in 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

    • @MarkosDrakos
      @MarkosDrakos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, that's it. Dw, teachers are usually generous with predicted grades though, if they think there is a chance that you get that grade, they'll give it to you

    Also how detailed will this channel go? WIll it go into like specific study tips? i.e. for bio something like "mermorise the process of replicaiton from past papers" or something even more specific regarding TOK and EE's? What subject did you do your EE on?
    Thanks so much!

    • @MarkosDrakos
      @MarkosDrakos  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It will go pretty detailed, I'm gonna make a few general videos about studying and then really specific stuff for each subject including IA's, TOK and EE. So yeh, like your example, it's gonna do mainly that. I did my EE in Biology on the safety of prolonged use of disinfectants on skin. Didn't realise how relevant that would actually be now. Glad to help!

    Hi, I had a question I wanted to ask. Do colleges mainly only look at the predicted grades or do they also look at transcripts? If they do look at transcripts, do you have to send transcripts from grade 9 and grade 10 if you didn't take the middle year program. I was taking AP courses from grade 9 to grade 10, however, I moved to a different school and now I'm doing IB diploma program from grade 11 to grade 12. Thanks!

      Uhmmmmm I applied to the UK, and I'm assuming you are talking about the US here. For the UK I didn't even submit any transcripts, and from what I know about the US, you don't really have to either unless the college asks for it. Therefore I think that transcripts aren't really that important, and predicted grades are the main focus. This being said, your predicted grades are pretty much based on what you did throughout the year, so having strong transcripts will lead to having a good predicted grade, which is important. Good luck with everything!

    what do u do if the school doesn't wanna give you the predicted grades?

    • @MarkosDrakos
      @MarkosDrakos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is tough, but schools are usually quite fair, if not a bit generous with predicted grades. This means that if they don't want to give you a predicted grade, they really do believe it is unlikely that you will get that grade in the real exam, therefore trying to protect you from disappointments when trying to meet offers. I'd say to prove you can get the grade with the work you put in.

    Universities accept you solely based on predicted grades? Not even considering as much year 12?

    • @MarkosDrakos
      @MarkosDrakos  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep pretty much (they do take into account admissions exams and interviews though). Predicted grades are based on your year 12 performance so it does make sense.
