    This video is a direct follow up to Heartless, and intertwined in the story he tells through the album. The Heartless video gives context. The videos are definitely his concepts. After Hours (this album) is not quite as conceptual as Dawn FM, but it still has a story through the videos and through the album itself. Max Martin and Oscar Holter on the production. He’s using lots of movie inspiration like Fear and Loathing.
    This is what Weeknd said durning an interview, he usually doesn’t talk about his direct meaning, but…
    “'Blinding Lights' [is about] how you want to see someone at night, and you're intoxicated, and you're driving to this person and you're just blinded by streetlights," he explains. "But nothing could stop you from trying to go see that person, because you're so lonely. I don't want to ever promote drunk driving, but that's what the dark undertone is."
    You should (please, please) react to his first song off his first mixtape that he released anonymously on YT in 2011 when he was homeless in Toronto. The album is House of Balloons, and the song is High For This. (That went on to go platinum). Now, although drugs and a seedy lifestyle was very prevalent in his early music, it is raw and real and grimy and beautiful. It gives a different perspective of that lifestyle. The Weeknd changed the music scene with his first mixtape.
    Tool is one of my favorite bands. It’s pretty much Tool, The Weeknd, and Jinjer.

    you really did get the influences of this right, the weeknd around the times of these albums got heavy into mushrooms and it played a huge influence in his music especially in the album Dawn FM.

      @@pranav.m.warrier7407 how are you not sure if they would like it or not? It's a cinematic masterpiece. Anyone with REAL music taste would know The Weeknd doesnt play around with his music because he's a musical genius .
      A person doesn't need to listen to his hit songs in order for them to enjoy the beautiful lyrics and the cinematic experience from After Hours, Faith , Escape From L.A, Snow Child, Repeat After Me, I mean I could go on and on and on....
      Please stop spreading stupid opinions you definitely don't know what people would or wouldn't like. That's why it's called reactions for a reason.

      @@angie-jo1mn the weeknd creates music which is extremely complex and deep, and it may surprise the casual listeners who do not even know what makes up the essence of abel. I'm sure before becoming a fan of abel, you'd have heard one of his hit song to get familiar with him. There's no way you knew from your birth who this guy was and started listening to hob right away. Faith and after hours are my favorite songs of all time and i wouldn't want random people listening it without really knowing or having any idea the kind of music this guy makes. You terming my opinion "stupid" Is the exact reason why toxic fans like you are destroying the curiosity of new reactors listening to the weeknd. It was just my opinion, and if do not want harmless replies or opinions to your comment *then don't comment* . There's no one in the world who starts listening to an artist's discography without having a basic knowledge about him at first. Learn some manners

      @@pranav.m.warrier7407OMG. I apologize for saying your comment was stupid so sorry! everyone's opinions is valuable! as far as the Weeknd's music for one to understand the context of his music in general one must start with House Of Balloons first followed by the rest of Trilogy.
      I first heard the Weeknd through Drake's song Crew Love over the radio back in 2011 never paid much mind to him a until 2013 when I heard Wicked Games for the first time. I knew from that song he was gonna be a huge artist if he kept up with the lyrics and of course the voice. I feel its important for anyone just getting to know his music and story telling it's a must to start with all of Trilogy first.
      For those who don't know, Triligy consists of The Weeknd's 3 mixtapes repackaged into 1 album titled, Trilogy.
      House of Balloons
      Thursday
      Echoes Of Silence
      You're missing out in life if you havent heard these yet.l💯🔥

    He just dropped a new song, Double Fantasy, from his upcoming HBO series The Idol. He co-wrote, co-produced, and is starring in with Lily-Rose Depp. The MV is clips from the show. You wanna talk about some sweet sax, Mike Dean has got you covered lol and it has Future and Metro Boomin on there as well. It’s 🔥🔥🔥 Sorry I’ll stop commenting now lol 🩷

    The 80's together with the 90's and 70's will and always will be the best music, today's music has no heart and soul, I love that Weekend is based on the 80's, the song That you don't like that it's Take on is fine, but the truth is that it will always be one of the best songs along with others, what a pity you don't have an eighties heart, I'm a 19-year-old, someone who should like current music, I for many prefer the old days.

    Ik you don't really want to dive into this story right away, it seemed really confusing to me too. I'd suggest you react to his hit songs before completely diving,perhaps starboy next?

    • @angie-jo1mn
      @angie-jo1mn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's nothing confusing about The Weeknd's music especially for people who are ole school heads in America where we have varietys of sounds and genre's. People here get the music and especially people who are older who can relate to the story and lifestyle. These men here GET IT.

    • @angie-jo1mn
      @angie-jo1mn ปีที่แล้ว

      And Star Boy is the wrong place to start. It's way too popish with no real direction and all over the place compared to his real cinematic work (Trilogy, Kiss Land, After Hours and Dawn FM)

    • @angie-jo1mn
      @angie-jo1mn ปีที่แล้ว

      Star Boy has good songs but nothing compares to House of Balloons, Thursday, Echos of Silence, Kiss Land. Beauty Behind The Madness would be a better place to start that album has the real hits and masterpieces, from beginning to end hit after hit after hit.

      @@angie-jo1mn there's nothing confusing about him? Dude, he is confusion, his confusing and deep music videos is what attracts his fans. His mysterious and creepy vibes are what attracted the og fans too. No one did it like him and no one still does it like him. He's a unique artist which still hasn't been too common as a genre. He literally created alt r&b, he jumps off into a new sound every album.
      Even if these men get it, I'd definitely take it light in the beginning so that they can at least appreciate his voice.

      @@angie-jo1mn that's your opinion. Starboy is absolutely gold too. He doesn't have bad albums. It's not necessary for everybody to like his cinematic experience, they must get a taste of what he really is known as. Heck, they didn't even know BL!! Why would you even expect them to listen to a whole new type of sound right at the beginning of their depth into this journey? Be calm dude

    That’s because KPop stans are INSANE 😂 No one beats them. They are the most rabid fanbases lol
    I want to know what the video it is from the title. And if you make it to long you can’t see what written after the gimmicky words because it’s cut off. Just do you and people will come, especially if you do a variety. If you do a lot of KPop that’s going to make up most of your viewers. And metal too apparently. In my unprofessional opinion, just be you, do a variety, and don’t let yourself get locked into a genre because that’s simply what does numbers. If that makes sense.
