We had taken of tour a few years back at Lucas Film and Industrial Light Magic when my husband was a creative director for Disney. It was such a great experience, especially for my husband who is such a huge Star Wars fan. Glad you had a great Aulani trip. Looking forward to those vlogs!!
WOW ~ another great video. So glad that you and David can travel together. Doing Lombard Street is a definite must when in SF. Remember, years ago probably back in the sixties, we drove down that in a station wagon as kids...so much fun. All the food selections you had were amazing; loved the comment about "Panera" - perhaps we can suggest that the Bakery moves to the east coast. Cannot wait to see what you two are up to next. Have fun and enjoy.

"I'm not used to flying west for a Disney adventure..." I'm sure! But remember, all the **magic** started out west. And it's Hawaii. Hawaii is a whole other type of tropical magic than the Florida/Bahamas region. GEAR-er-delli. 😊 David is right, the street Ghirardelli is on is not a real hill. I know David no longer lives in San Francisco, and you might not have much reason to visit the city, but if you ever visit SF again, go to the Mission district. One of THE best pizzas in the country -- Pizzeria Delfina. Right next door is the famous Tartine Bakery. And on the other end of that same street is the Bi-Rite Creamery -- home of delicious almost-gelato-like ice cream, made with unique and unusual flavors. The Mission is also known for super delicious amazing tacos! Thanks for letting us know that Boudin makes tacos. Had no idea!
Aaahhh the connections I'm making in this video!! You live so close to my parents in MD and probably flew over their house in your SWA airplane if you left from BWI!!! Then watching all of the San Francisco footage and hearing the names again of all the streets and sights and such brought back SO many memories from my trip years ago! I'd LOVE to go back. One thing I don't miss is the hills and riding in a car (dad was driving) on them- gave me anxiety thinking we'd roll backwards all the time!! How brave of your brother to want to drive there!! Can't wait to see what else you do on your trip!
So glad that you got to visit a different city other than Orlando and cruise ports. San Francisco is one of the best cities for food and culture. Chicago is also awesome for food and we do have several Disney Stores LOL 😆. No Disney Parks though.
Hi Michael! Love watching your vlogs! You are helping me prepare for my first ever WDW and Disney Cruise in May. I also just love ‘escaping’ my day to day with your videos. I live in Northern California and we have been dealing with absolute hellish wild fires. I’ve been evacuated from my home twice (keep in mind I live in the middle of a city, very crazy). But the fire you experienced smoke from is the worst yet. The town of Paradise was completely leveled. Over 70 people are dead and hundreds are still missing. I’m sure with your travels, you would have missed much of the news coverage on it. Having your wonderful upbeat videos is truly a needed escape for many. Keep up the great job!!

Great video, Michael. I just wanted to point out that the correct way to pronounce Ghirardelli is the same as in "girl," not a "J" sound. Haven't been to the Boudin Bakery in SF yet, but we always visit the one in DCA for a sample of the sourdough bread before heading to Paradise Pier to have some world famous clam chowder.

I stopped by the building very briefly once after visiting the WD Family Museum, but didn't have enough time (was on a work assignment) to actually go inside. I did get a few pics of the Yoda statue outside though. I was surprised you didn't show that (maybe it's at a different part of the building than where you visited?)

Yeah, we got hit hard by all the smoke, and we weren't even close to the fires. The college where I teach cancelled classes for a week! It was baaaad. And yes, no question - Boudin is waaaaay better than Panera. There are many Boudin SF locations throughout California, but they don't have everything that the flagship Bistro location has.
Thanks so much for starting to upload your Aulani Trip VLOG so quickly after getting home. In our house the rule is : Once Starbucks starts serving the Christmas drinks we can celebrate Christmas in our house. But also cause we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia we start setting up our Christmas displays from Mid November.
