Keyfob Digitzing with StitchArtist - 3 ways to create "bubble shaped" name keyfobs

  • You've seen the style of keyfob that I am talking about - a name or design that has a "bubble or cloud shaped bean stitch" that follows the shape of the design. They are very popular to make as gifts and with Embrilliance StitchArtist you will see how easy it is to "digitize" them.
    YES, you can even create these with StitchArtist L1.
    Although you can use JUST StitchArtist L1 to create these, if you are using existing designs or lettering objects, you will want to have the customizing functions of Essentials as well. A couple Essentials functions are mentioned in the video, so if you just have StitchArtist, you may not have the capability of Essentials - since in my mind, "Essentials is essential," for all machine embroider-ers, this video assumes you have Essentials and a level of StitchArtist. A bonus section showing how to use the Knockdown(TM) stitch of Enthusiast is also shown and noted that is is an Enthusiast function AS AN OPTION. The third software description talks about how to use the StitchArtist L3 graphical operators o create the cloud like shape. All sorts of options and learning techniques available to you - in ONE video!
    This SHORT video shows how to create the keyfob - from the lettering to the cloud shape. From creating the tab to setting the stitch type, and adjust starts and stops. The software portion is wrapped up with changing colors so that the machine stops and adding a basting box to serve as a guide to how big your vinyl has to be.
    But wait! We're not done yet! We continue to the machine where I walk you thru the stitching process and talk about some of the tools that I use when I create "fob style in the hoop" embroidery designs - not limited to hanging out with your keys! Think luggage tags, lunchbox name tags, back pack identifiers, gift tags, book marks and more!
    All of this in under 25 minutes. So when I said these are quick and easy, once you get the hang of the steps involved, you will develop a smooth rhythm and be able to make your own "bubble/cloud style name keyfobs" in no time flat!
    If you are on Facebook, you can find more videos and live broadcasts on my SewBubbles businss page: www.Facebook.com/SewBubbles Follow my page and don't forget to subscribe to this youtube channel to be notified when new videos are posted and premiered!

    *** Scissors
    The scissors I use for trimming are Kai, in particular the following models:
    5135 - sturdy sharp blade - these are great for trimming marine vinyl (keyfobs/snap tabs)
    5165 - a bit longer sharp blade for smoother cuts - available in very berry, true blue or black
    7170 - cuts marine vinyl and cork like a hot knife through warm butter - when you want to spoil yourself 🙂
    For jump stitches - 5100C (when trimming jumps in front of the TV) or 5130DC while the item is still in the hoop. The narrow thin blades ensure that your snowmen embroidery designs will NOT have nose hairs!
    You can save an additional 20% off the prices on the Kai Scissors website (www.kaiscissors.com) if you use the promo code SHAW.

      You will get it. I am fairly new to machine embroidery, I love my PE800 and I bought a seven needle machine, but I practice at least 5 days a week. I practice so I can get better and more comfortable. I’m getting better!! Don’t give up keep going. U can do it!!

    Hi Lisa :) thank you so much for your tutorials, i'm learning a lot from them.
    I need your advice. What do you think it will be best ..... i'm not a professional but i want to do patches and do some simple designs like logos. I have the Essentials and StitchArtist L1 is it better to upgrade to L2 and get the Merrowly or just upgrade from L1 to L3?
    Big kiss from Azores Islands, Portugal 😘😘❤❤

      Sorry that I don't check youtube that often. I love the fonts in Merrowly. Its up to you if you would use them more than the features of StitchArtist L3.

    Great tutorial. I have essentials and enthusiast. I tried following along and was able to get to the part about adding the knockdown stitch. However after that step I do not see the “create mode” option. Is it because I do not have stitch artist?

    • @laurasnider5186
      @laurasnider5186 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, Create is a function of Stitch Artist.

    Great video on just what I wanted to learn, but the 2nd option shows Enthusiast and refers to the "create" button, which Enthusiast does not have. I'm a bit confused.

    I have watched so many videos and still no clear answer on this question. I hope you can help. I am a digital artist and I want to turn my designs into stitched embroidery. They are vector images and I want to be able to pull them in to a software and then turn them into an embroidery design. Can you tell me if you were trying to do this what Embrilliance items would you purchase, in total, from their suite?

    • @LisaSewBubbles
      @LisaSewBubbles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Embrilliance StitchArtist is digitizing. For a SHORT complete overview of the Embrilliance programs and what they do, you should watch the program overview video on the Embrilliance youtube channel. I wouldn't be watching how-to videos until you know what program you are working in. If you have further questions, ask the folks in customer support at Embrilliance.com

    I’m new at this. What did you mean by bring the bobbin to the top?

    • @thomashefskypatricia7663
      @thomashefskypatricia7663 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guessing but I think she meant use the bobbin thread for the top thread (thinner thread)

    • @laurasnider5186
      @laurasnider5186 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hold onto the top thread, take one stitch. Gently pull on the top thread until the bobbin thread pops up to the top of the fabric. Continue to hold the top thread, gently but firmly, and take about 5-10 more stitches. You can then stop and trim the loose ends, or just drop them and complete the step, trimming them when finished.

      Digitizing is different than customizing - you need StitchArtist to digitize.
