One morning, when I was a little boy, I woke up in a bad mood, on a blustery morning. I walked straight to my mother who was sitting on her sofa watching The 700 Club. When I told her that I was scared, she took me in her arms and sang me some hymns, including this one.

I used to sing this as a child at night to calm my fears... I knew that the name of Jesus was powerful and could cause demons to flee... it’s still one of my favorite songs and I now sing it to my son every night at bedtime. ❤️

I know you put this out in 2012 but with certain music there's no time limit that can be put on it. "There's Just Something About That Name" is one of those songs and about favorite though many touch my heart, none quite like this one. And that you give the lost lyrics is also a blessing. I wish I could hear them but in time I'll remember them - I hope. But this song is the one song that could pick anyone up from the bottom of the pit of hell, it can touch a heart so deeply.
Not a player but I have a piano, The only song I ever taught myself since both my girls play, was Hava Nagila but now I'm going to have to teach myself this one so I'll never be without it again. : )

I bused to sing this to my babies when they were just little things at bedtime as they would lay there falling asleep. I would caress their foreheads and hair and sing this to them.

Almost 32 yrs ago my son was born premature At Christmas that year my husbands very large family gathered as we awaited his mother's heavenly home going In all the sadness I would cradle my tiny little 3 month son and softly sang this to him It had such a calming effect on both of us Years later on the way to school one morning he said 'Mom when you sing it calms me" Today I sing this song to myself as a prayer for both of us There is something about that name ! And the angel said He shall be called Jesus . Amen!

Why didn't I? I wasted those years! I wasted my kids! They both aren't with God and one is an atheist. Women-sing to your kids, grandkids- teach them about the tender mercies and sweet love! Lord forgive me.
Only the name is Y'shua, or Joshua, if you prefer. Chanting a Greek name probably doesn't carry a lot of magic power... try Hebrew or Aramaic.

We used to sing this song in my church back when I was a Christian. Even then I thought, 'These are probably the stupidest lyrics I've ever heard.'
