The reveal that Billy held Tommy's soul with him this whole time and the scene of finding him a new body is one of my favourite scenes in all of the MCU 😭 absolutely heartbreaking 😭
@jemmellpyron2527 I'm guessing the sigil was tied to the body - at first William, then possessed by Billy. But because Billy also held onto Tommy's soul, that body technically hosted two souls, so the sigil worked on them both
agatha freaking out about the road being a circle and lashing out on billy makes so much sense with the twist at the end of the episode and the fact that she knew all along. ugh i love this show
It’s like what happened with Wandavision. “Magic on autopilot.” Essentially. Nothing was an illusion. Billy created the road. Think of it like a pocket dimension with its own rules (though it seems to be taking the space of part of the old transit system underground). Once the rules were set it works autonomously from Billy like a machine.
I noticed during the ending fight, it was kind of the entire coven together versus Death: Alice's protection spell Lilia's prophecy Jen's healing potion Billy's magic Agatha's sacrifice They really did become a (dysfunctional) coven in the end 😭
The episode 9 conversation "I can't protect you (alice), heal you (jenn), or divine when she will return (lilia)." It makes you wonder if Nicky would have lived longer if Agatha had a true coven.
It actually makes sense as to why Death couldn’t just take Billy and Tommy’s souls without their consent like all other souls. Her being THE green witch means she’s tied to nature, but the Maximoff brothers aren’t natural. They were created purely through chaos magic, so being “artificial souls” means she can’t just take them, they have to give themselves over willingly otherwise they, or at least Billy, with keep reincarnating.
"He set the stage, they brought their baggage." "So he just made the setting. And they filled in the story." "Sure it was like a DND campaign." I love this so much.
Billy was powerful enough to subconsciously create a wish fulfillment world. Everything that the Road made was something from his mind, what he pictured would be on there and the details were filled in by his Coven. His powers were able to conjure poisons and the materials to counteract it, destroy a generational curse, and summon spirits. That's incredible! Also, funny bit, they never left Westview. I think it was in the third episode Sharon said there was an old metro under the town, which was the exit for Jen if she wanted to leave the Road. Billy had created his own Hex, like Wanda's, underneath the town. I kinda wanted them to show the Road underneath the town kinds like a coin flip.
I’m curious if other witches can walk the Road now. Like, is it set now? Specifically those trials? Or will it now read new witches? Or will it show up for them at all?
@@swordsmanthegamernine7973 No, They Couldn't. Billy sealed the path, turning it into a Tomb for the deceased members of the Coven. So not even a Witch could access it.
@ he sealed the one under her house, but I’m curious if the road itself still exists, and if so, if it can be summoned with the Ballad since that’s how Billy thought it worked when he made the road.
@@swordsmanthegamernine7973 The Ballad Doesn't Have a Magical Effect and Couldn't Summon the Path, since it was Billy's Creation. Billy can alter Reality like Wanda, so, with his Belief that the Path existed, he unknowingly ended up "giving" life to the Path that never existed.
@ yes but the Road itself functioned the way Billy believed it would, Billy didn’t create those trials, in fact Billy Maximof just MET Lilian, and yet that trail was specific to her. The he wasn’t manually controlling it, he created it as he believed it functioned, and he believed it’s summoned by the Ballad so…why wouldn’t it function in that way too?
Such a good fake out with Death saying "A road that doesn't---" everyone thinks it's "end", but it ends up being "even exist". So many solid twists that totally re contextualize the previous episodes.
I hate when people call things billy/wanda create "fake" or illusions, it's like the whole "wanda's kids were fake" debate again... their whole point is they turn things into reality, it is real.
Agatha had past experience maneuvering a Maximoff magick creation which makes going over everything she did make more sense. Billy created the trials absentmindedly and Agatha applied logic to them. She gave the pep talk to Jen, she convinced Alice they had to play the song, of course things went a little bit hokie when Billy gave her a trial and she noped on that real hard.
I love how when Agatha dies she dies not by fighting death but by embracing it which truly is how it goes in life you can’t fight death you can’t defeat it you can only embrace it
In a way, Billy getting on a car is a moment that serves to distinguish him from his mother. Sure, he is a new witch coming into new powers like Wanda was, but he also is living a William, mundane life that he cannot just forsake, and William Kaplan still needs to go around with cars and is still a minor with parents who are worried about him vanishing for a whole day.
Kind of like Spiderman. The teenagers have to have the stress of living double lives so their families don't worry, while the adults like Tony, Steve and Wanda can just be the superhero with no stress of having to keep it all a secret
I love how this episode opened up with Alice waking up and that she died and to all of us who were fans of Alice calling out that it's bullshit that she dies after defeating the curse that's been haunting her family and could've finally lived her life in peace. But I love that twist ending when it was Billy who conjured up the road into a reality but didn't realize it. Like mother, like son 😅
Aubrey Plaza’s Death is now my absolute favorite version of Death I’ve ever seen. She’s terrifying yet merciful, dark and funny, all ways we think of Death in real life. And the added lore of her being THE green witch fits so perfectly that I want it to be part of the comics canon. Especially her new design! The green and black outfit is so much better than her original look of just a boring purple hooded robe. Not to mention the far creepier yet beautiful look of her face being normal from the eyes up and skull for the rest. And now that we finally have Death in the MCU we NEED to see her and Deadpool together, hell make it a throuple with Vanessa.
Hypothetically if we ever get Death and Deadpool in the same MCU project, it won't be Aubrey Plaza. She doesn't give a f--- about the MCU (Legion =/= MCU) and only signed on to do this show cause she wanted to work with Kathryn Hahn lmaooo
I love Jen's moment of "You hold nothing. " If you think about it.. a witch being binded was like Maleficent (Disney) losing her wings. She was bound not only power wise but also as herself. She lost a part of herself. She doubted herself. And her saying you hold nothing until she believes it is what broke the bind. And if you really look at Agatha even if it looks like she's goading Jen, she is being truthful like saying "put your heart into it,etc" because she has to believe and fight the bind to be free to be whole. And her smile when her power is back and she felt whole again. That was perfect. And so emotional which may had been overpowered by other scenes but I love that.
27:10 It's because the trials were real and happening in Billy's reality-warping Witches' Road and during the Ouija part they broke the rules he read and conjured up a real spirit aka Agatha's mom 😊
I didn’t know there were two episodes while I was watching this, so the way this episode ended and the “next episode” button popping up were such surprises to me. It was great
I want to think that Billy didn't necessarily kill that boy to give Tommy a body, but that the kid was gonna die anyway, similarly as how William was gonna die regardless if Billy got to him. It is open to interpretation and I like that.
There were clues to say that Agatha never traveled the road before team even questioned if she had traveled it before himself. Only this time is Billy. Answer direct questions about the trials and this episode shows she doesn’t even know how to get off the road.
I can almost see the production meeting where they were discussing "So should Death "shadow walk", "teleport" or "portal" away from the road? And someone just went... "well, we have a canvas matte painting and Aubrey has a knife..."
I think most of us were expecting a reveal that Agatha had never actually walked the Witches' Road before, but I can't say I was expecting the Road to have never existed.
The kiss of death. Also the Wicked Witch of the West is Agatha, they made reference to it in the last episode! In addition to her being dressed that way.

15:58 I love this confrontation with Rio agetha is using everything she learned from her coven durung the road Alice's protection circle she even Jennifer's healing spell
I’m so glad the finale pretty much answered all the questions. But I still got one thing unanswered. What’s the backstory between Agatha and Rio? How and where did they meet? Why exactly did Rio take Nicholas?
@@KristenYolanda Agatha has consistently killed witches by harvesting their powers even before she got pregnant (my speculation) that's probably how she met death, “you get your power, and I get my bodies”
Billy is also a mind reader. He can’t read Agatha’s, but nothing says he can’t read the other’s. And his room shows his interests in all the things that ended up populating the trials. He likes the suburban housewife stories, and it fits with Jen’s aesthetic, so her trial was in the super nice house. He is a Lorna Wu fan, so Alice’s trial looks like a recording studio out of her mom’s era, some details pulled from Alice’s mind. He likes 80s horror movies, cue Agatha’s trial imagery of an 80s sleepover, and he loves Wizard of Oz-Lilia’s trial. He is also the only one who loved every outfit he wore. Agatha’s trial was the least “trial like” because he can’t read her mind. Her hallucination in the first trial also fits least with the truth because again, he can’t read her and his subconscious filled in the Darkhold in the crib because Jen suggested it
He has to be a combo of both. In the comics his name is Billy Kaplan. this will be a combination of the names, Billy Maximoff, and William Kaplan. He also seems to retain some traits from his past life as William and has all the powers and the soul that Billy has.
This isn't the comics though. In the MCU, he's just Billy Maximoff in the body of William Kaplan. In the comics, he was William "Billy" Kaplan with the soul of Billy Maximoff. According to the showrunner, William Kaplan's soul left his body when he died and Billy Maximoff moved in. That wording to me does not suggest him being a combo of both, but just Billy Maximoff.
@@Kidapollo92 The brain isn't tied to the soul, he still has William's memories, and he's just now getting back his memories with Wanda. He's essentially Billy with both of their memories.
@@Kidapollo92 No, because the Kaplans raised him for three years. Rebecca Kaplan is his mother, even if she doesn't know "her son" isn't really her son
Agatha tries to use the skills she's learned from her coven in her battle against Rio. She tried to create a protection circle like Alice did in her trial, she tried to make healing moon water like Jen did to heal Teen, she used Lilia's warning from the tarot trial... It's almost like Agatha never learned true magic, she just learned to take power and killed witches to take it when she might have become more powerful if she had taken knowledge from them instead
The superhero who just flew down to fight Death now has to go home in his car. Quite like the symbolism though. For those 24 hours, he was Billy Maximoff and now he has to go home and be William Kaplan again. Him being in the car in his Wiccan outfit was the first time he was truly both of them at once.
SPOILER… I see Agatha telling Rio to stop making her life hell as Agatha saying she doesn’t want to keep killing witches just to keep Rio around in her life as she will be busy with other bodies , she’s done with the toxicness of their relationship and has come to terms with what happened in the past . I do believe they have real love for each other , but Agatha deserves to feel free as Nicky didn’t want her killing anymore, hence his ending , this is her peace.
…no one refers to the fairy godmother as a witch. Jen’s witch is from Snow White. Lillia is Glinda the Good Witch from the Wizard of Oz. The fact that no one has seen the Wizard of Oz is the weirdest thing in the world to me considering how much of an influence it is on other pieces of media. And Billy is in the coven. The black heart was referring to him, as exemplified by the text he received from his bf. Lillia couldn’t write his name down because of the sigil-so she could only write a black heart. What you’re referring to when it comes to marketing- an interviewer on the agatha all along red carpet, from Variety, said “I heard this show is the gayest marvel show yet.” And then people like Aubrey Plaza responded “oh? Cool. I’ll take that honor.” I’m paraphrasing but they’ve all said encouraging things along those lines. Then, Prager U took that and clipped it and posted it online to imply this was a marketing tactic by Disney. That went viral in conservative spaces and was also picked up by Manosphere-type reactors. There’s like a 20,000 view video on TH-cam referring to it as the “M She U.” It’s so pathetic. God forbid anyone watch a story with a different perspective than their own. It’s not like women and lgbtq people have been doing it most of our lives.
@ I know, I remember when she hulk came out. But it feels worse now because this show is objectively good. I could accept criticism for She Hulk (I still enjoyed it more than the masses) but I can’t with Agatha. It’s loved by basically everyone that watches it except for those select men. I hate that this is rearing it’s ugly head again.
What was first official pic from show? It was Agatha opening door, it was hex shape and blue 💀😭 they literally gave us plot in first pic.🙌🙌 Great job jac
"Out of death, life" scene must confirm that Agatha was able to keep death from taking Nicky by killing the witches "to survive". The only time she didn't kill them, death took him that night.
Agatha technically kept her part of her deal with Rio. They were talking in codes but she did exactly what she literally said she was going to do. He got to the finish line (of the road) and he was delivered to her. Also I think Agatha being a ghost is Rio keeping her word, she didn't see Rio Death face at the end.
Yes. But what we (or I, at least) didn't expect was that she didn't kill him because it would have voided her pact with Rio. She needed Billy to willingly volunteer himself.

That and when/how did Agatha get the Darkhold?
@ right!! Cause she didn’t trade it for Nicholas
Nicholas was supposed to be a miscarriage, Rio gave him time to live, which is the “special treatment”
@@Llio_ba that still doesn’t explain how their relationship was formed or confirmation of what it was.
@@KristenYolanda Agatha has consistently killed witches by harvesting their powers even before she got pregnant (my speculation) that's probably how she met death, “you get your power, and I get my bodies”
Billy IS Keyser Soze!!!
I appreciate Eric’s body bag Karate kid moment 👊🏽
I loved Rio riping the set´s background. "It´s a simple spell, but quite unbreakable..."
Billy’s situation is the ship of Theseus problem Vision posed to…himself?…in Wandavision
14:37 This is the best witch laugh I ever heard.
Her hallucination in the first trial also fits least with the truth because again, he can’t read her and his subconscious filled in the Darkhold in the crib because Jen suggested it
I like how Billy responded "Liar" in the same way Agatha did while she interrogated him in the first episode.
Great episode
Rio’s theme song is my knew theme of life lol
Ring tone and all lol
@ but if that's the case he would claim Wanda as his mother wouldn't he if he was all maximoff
@@Kidapollo92 The brain isn't tied to the soul, he still has William's memories, and he's just now getting back his memories with Wanda. He's essentially Billy with both of their memories.
@@RandomBakedCake He doesn't have William's memories though.
8:14 the lack of budget screamed there lol how I love this series, it will be sorely missed
20:31 comment of all time ahdjskshwjf makes me laugh every time
Marvel needs to get my favorite twins together fast, Wiccan is destined to become the DEMIURGE (a cosmic entity) 💙👑
Billy driving away in full outfit had no right to be as funny as it was
The superhero who just flew down to fight Death now has to go home in his car.
One of Billy's core powers is mind reading so with billy making the road real it likely has a similar effect of reading its occupants.
Aaron’s trial would be to react to every single episode of Days of Our Lives. 1965-current. Five episodes per week. 14,430 episodes so far.
They have been referring to it as MsheU for a long time now. These right wing ❄ have a meltdown every time that something is not about them.
@@stephmgreen The more the world is changing for the better, the more they keep kicking and screaming like toddlers.
What was first official pic from show? It was Agatha opening door, it was hex shape and blue 💀😭 they literally gave us plot in first pic.🙌🙌 Great job jac
They came out Westview
Been waiting all day!!
19:23
Da kiss of Death... that's all I need...
20:15 if you look closely you can see her take her last breath before the skull falls apart
I have been refreshing for ages for the BW reaction lmao. Lets go!
You guys should check out The Witch Subversion!
Agatha told Billy she was telling the truth... When Billy asked if she would take all his power in the last trial, she said No. And she didnt.
Yes. But what we (or I, at least) didn't expect was that she didn't kill him because it would have voided her pact with Rio. She needed Billy to willingly volunteer himself.
@@robpreston5692 Agatha never fulfilled the pact either way. At the end Rio had neither Agatha or Billy. Agatha totally conned Death. LOVE IT. :D
He put his hood up like Wanda in Westview
