Hey, The Knicks took a shot. They're offering the guy a winning culture, and a platform to show off his skills. If this dude wants to nickel and dime you just to squeeze the maximum out of his deal, let him walk. It's a hit, you're better off taking now, than when he only plays 45 games a season.
In my opinion, if the guy doesn't wish to compromise something, let him go. It's a step back but we'll plug the hole. Let another team max him out.

We gave up our young core, IQ, RJ & Grimes for a guy who can't stay on the court, and a bunch of older journeymen. Tibs expects high minutes from his starters, that's not a good fit for OG and I think OG knows it. Knicks should've stayed patient with the young guys. Giving OG a max deal would be a mistake. We have the 24th, 25th and 36th pick in the draft. Let's get some young legs to rebuild the bench and sign a young FA or two if we can't re-sign OG at a reasonable price.

@@jordang716 I feel sorry for you. Mikal is just as good of a shot creator as Randle. Watch his film. Just so you know, PPG + Rebounds is how you make the all star game. They're not looking at Defense and hustle stats. OG isn't going to make any all star teams either but some how will be paid way more .......

We both agree that he's ideal for our beloved NYK. but at this price, is crazy talk, ESPECIALLY when we have evidence that Randle is a way better player with the core of Randle/Brunson/OG add in IHart and Donte. The math ain't mathing. You add Mikal to this core, you don't break it up for this outlandish price. Plus, Leon Rose and Co. don' lose deals. No way they do this.

Sunken cost fallacy , RJ is nothing special and giving a guy like OG , who is injured EVERY year , $40 mill per season would be dumb. Thibbs runs his starters into the ground, they can't afford to pay guys like OG and Robinson to sit on the bench for months every year.
