Hey folks, hope you enjoyed this dive into some of the culture and history aspects of the Fallout fandom! It was a lot of fun piecing this together. Don't forget to like and sub if you enjoyed it, and please - I'm always on the lookout for ideas, so feel free to drop suggestions for things I could cover in the comments.
@@codymcgrath2.3bviews3secon7 yep it’s something I think we all dread! And thanks again, I’m excited to get the next video up to see what you all make of it 🙂
I spent the first 5 minutes smugly thinking to myself "oh yeah, I remember the survivor 2299". Then you dropped the bombshell - it's not that! Somehow I missed this back in the day and never heard of it since. So glad I found this channel!
Please more content like this and Urban Legends of Fallout 3 video. I subscribed because of the strength of these videos. I eagerly look forward to what will come from this channel.
Just discovered this channel and I'm really impressed by the quality of your videos seeing how small it is, I also really like that you have chosen to cover lesser known stuff in the fallout universe(I'd never heard of these arg nor of many of the urban legends you talked about in your previous video), I hope your channel grows as you really deserve the attention.
Thanks so much for this, means a lot to get this sort of feedback! Yep, this is definitely the direction I’ll be going in (alongside just covering the games themselves, including starfield). The channel seems to be going through a little growth spurt at the moment which is great - I’ll just keep pushing out content that hopefully is fresh to you and the other viewers! 🙂
I got the Urban Legends video in my recommended about a week back, and I'm loving the content I've seen from you. I'm subbed and here to stay. Great job, man, love it.
whats insane is I was just getting into fallout heavily just before this arg started and I also found/was recommended the storyteller so the leadup was insane even though survivor 2299 turned out to be fake
@@shadesofslay I wasn’t really following it in real time on Reddit like some were mostly watching recap and update videos on TH-cam. I caught it partway through the initial launch of it so I had a lot of catching up to do.
I recall that there was a different horror arg about the term Erratas leading to people disappearing when looking it up or something. Idk if that was inspiration for this
Errata? You mean rules clarifications on Magic: the Gathering cards? I have never seen that word used by anyone other than Wizards of the Coast. "We need some errata on that card because its not written very clearly"
Thanks for the kind words! I guess I'm small because I only just started haha. But hopefully that changes over time with continuing content that's on the horizon!
I didnt know about any of this! when Fallout 4 was releasing i stayed as far from any rumors and speculation so i could come into it fresh and it seems i really missed out of some wild stuff
So through different means this dr Green would've ended up in a similar place as Vault 112's dr. Brown from Fallout 3. I guess the moral of the story is that you don't give PHDs to people named after colors?
Yep, I kinda wished it had been more. I do think it would have been if they’d been able to keep it going. I think the end was rushed and not finished properly due to circumstances. They’d probably have given it another few passes before putting it out if there’d been a bit more time.

Just checking on the channel in case my notifications didn’t go off. Hope you’re working on a video. Love your stuff!
@@codymcgrath2.3bviews3secon7 Hey, thanks for checking in - I've had some tooth problems hence the delay in the new video! But will be coming soon!
@@shadesofslay nothing worse mate take time to recover we’ll be here waiting eagerly!

Glad to have filled in the gaps - I operate on the assumption that because I know, doesn’t mean everyone else does.

Thank you for this feedback, it's really appreciated :) and absolutely, more content like this is on the way!
THIS is how you analyze something. Straightforward, easy to follow, slow paced, and political.
Thanks for the kind words :) I'm really glad you feel it was high quality.

Thank you, I really appreciate it :) I'm currently working on the follow up to the Urban Legends one!
Roughly 2k subs but video quality of a channel with hundreds of thousands of subs. You've earned a sub
Thanks, this means a lot to me to read. I've really been enjoying working on these videos so far :)
Praise be to the TH-cam recommended feed gods for gracing me with this awesome channel.
I'm glad you're happy to find it! Plenty more videos on the horizon :D

Ah! Do you remember the ARG as it was taking place, then?

I've been waiting for someone to mention this

Erratas is a whole other thing that’s genre busting - it’s a whole mystery in its own right!
Errata? You mean rules clarifications on Magic: the Gathering cards?

This is so cool! Though I’m confused about how people thought this was real at first when canonically there are only 120 vaults
Yeah, that's a good question. That being said, certain aspects of lore have changed over time I suppose... perhaps not so dramatically though!
@ very fair! Keep up the great work bro, your videos are awesome. You got a new subscriber from me 🫡
@@jaycrusoe8891 Thank you! I really appreciate it :)
Why are you so small? I was convinced I was watching a video from someone doing these kind of videos for years. Keep up the work

I felt the same when I came across it! It was fun to have to dig up and piece together content that isn't even readily available anymore!

Colours are such a red flag! ;)
You definitely need more subs
Damn the TH-cam algorithm has been good to me lately
Bless the algorithmic techno-god! It's being good to me lately too, pushing out my videos finally...
The presentation and interaction with the fanbase was great, but the story turning out to be 1984 but Fallout was disappointing.

Wait… so what happened to it?
Why did this ARG end in the way it did?
I think they sort of accelerated it a bit cos it was rumbled.
@@shadesofslay ahh okay! I wondered if I had missed you saying that Bethsoft once again issued a CnD 🙄 they do that a lot :/
@@UlyssesCrab no probs - as far as I’m aware they didn’t in this case!
There is No 50's Americana in the Fallout universe. See the video called Bethesda doesn't understand Fallout.
Neat
Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Your channel is cool. I love your speech impediment.
😂 that’s a new way to describe a Scottish accent! Glad you like it though 😂
