This is the kind of shit that some times demotivates me to go skate at a park. 30 years old and trying to get back in the groove of things, shamefully being proud of landing a tre flip after idk how many years off the board and i see kids skating like theyre in SLS is beyond me. I just sit there, unable to comprehend how advanced skateboarding has become with this new generation.
Bowl riding (Tony Alva) swiming pool is my first intro to American skateboarding as a youngling in the early to mod 70's. Would love to see your team to repeat Tony Alva's journey on a modern scale. Much love and light. Bye the way Dan (edited) You are a great natural videographer live natural capture eye photographer.
Crazy how the casual runs of all these kids are better then most footage of all skate vids up to the early 90's. Growing up on 80's Bones Brigade and H-street, I never imagined this! Ever heard of Matt Hensley, probably not?!
Do yourself a favor and pause at 8:00 @Devinbagnoli the way you carry yourself and the chill yet aggressive approach to things reminds me so much of Chris Cole. 🧐
Dan is the lanista. This word I just learnt from google AI: (The lanista oversaw the daily activities of the gladiators, including training, and was often a former ((or current))gladiator himself) He pits One gladiator against another.
Sending you healing vibes dude. I’m sure you’ve gone down the rabbit hole on dealing with anxiety and panic energies. I’m going through it pretty tough right now but have found some good tools. If you wanna compare notes, send me a message.
18:26 Yeah talk about casual. No push while flipping up three stairs, going up a ramp, spinning into a slide on a quarter pipe. Sorry don't know what everything is called, but I do now we're watching a master at his practice.
I'm really surprised nobody is asking how Devin can do his tricks so high. I think most skaters lack this kind of pop. It's not just about popping hard or jumping high; it's mostly about timing.
3:43 GEN X in the house! 🏠 Those kids look and dress normal to me, back in the 1990’s in west Phoenix this was known as funny style and Pharcyde would be playing in the background of a cloud of smoke that smelled like skunk farts 🦨💨 Imagine Chad Muska or TJ Rogers 😁
Random comment… I still wear adidas city cup. All black clear sole… from memory you had a pair Dan? One of my all time favourite shoes, always reminds me of you 😂 hope you good G ❤
@@DanCorrigan You won't find it - it would be in the walls, floor, ceiling behind drywall or underfloor - you have to call mold remediation place that has the machine. Strangely my homie that is a skater had this happen 15 years ago in LBC too. He moved and suddenly was fine. You've been on the road though so you would know if it was better when not home.
It might not affect Dale next door if it is there - could be just in your spot or affect people diff. Ask Cory K for someone that does mold test he'll know. It's a few hundred for piece of mind - or maybe the Labcorp can test the blood for it. Flu like symptoms and chronic fatigue is how it can manifest tho
Yeah, there is a noticeable difference between the skating generations. And that difference, Dan, is that you're old :) sorry, you skated into that one.
Idk man Powell peralta according to most Philly skaters is a place where you go to get a 360 deal in the skateboarding world. Like wtf happened to Donny Hixon dude was prolly the most tech actual street skater on team minus Andy n he never got a real shot. IMO Donny Hixon going to Powell led to him not advancing. Powell is legacy and dope brand but, the actual way the team works n how they push their riders is super fuckif weak
Devon captures the essence of cool pro skater. He just does his thing. Doesn't talk to much. To me that commands respect. The "kids" now are self entitled, cocky and assume they have it all figured out and everyone else is wrong. Maurio, Devon, etc are humble, respectable dudes.
>The "kids" now are self entitled, cocky and assume they have it all figured out and everyone else is wrong. That's literally how every generation of kids are. Whatever generation you're in was seen the same way by older people.

So you’re 30 years old and comparing yourself to 16 year olds for what reason? Bro just have fun lmao.
Comparison is the thief of joy
I think Devin's kickflips might just be my favorite kickflips of any skater
Honored 🫡🖤

That is a wild thought that skaters today dont know who Darrell Stanton is, when I cant get the free your mind cover out of my head!
He used to cannonball early grab back 180 gaps to warm up, which is absolutely terrifying.

That 360 flip up the stairs was right in face "right in face" he looked so confused after seeing it 😂
Scott Kane switch heel front nosed a handrail over two decades ago. Possibly one of the most ahead of his time dudes ever.
That whole part was mind blowing and he was still am for most of it
There was plenty of skaters doing tech stuff on handrails before 2004.
