I thought the thumbnail was from The Sixth Sense 😂
My hairline is the same as Bruce's here. I guess the writing is on the wall.
he wearing toups for all the scenes with different hair even this one.
Lets not forget about the badass lion on the TV:
He who greets with fire!
They should have hired him for the job instead
This movie is already great, but would've been improved 100% by allowing The Jackal to win in the end. Would've been a great twist to set it up like Declan was ahead of the game towards the end, and then at the last possible moment the hit happens as planned and the good guys are all "Wait... whut?".
there is not way anyone would have survived those uranium rounds flying by. even be close to them would mess you up due to sheer amount of kinetic energy
His big mistake was not properly blending in during the assassination attempt on the First Lady and use his disguise to help evacuate people. His calm demeanor as a cop is what gave him away.
yeah but we can understand it as he was sociopath and pro who stay calm all the time
One of my favorite movies!
one of my favorite scenes in cinema history
One thing I can say is that Bruce Willis played the heck outta this role. Would be cool to recreate it though
He did recreate it..the original is just as good if not better...the day of the jackal.
@@rossegan7244 yeah looking forward towards a sequel but just with somebody that takes the jackals place finishing what he started
@@quentinbishop9578 hopefully the target will be kamala!!!!
Not a bad film, but the original was better, and Edward Fox didn't insist on wearing a different wig in literally every single scene
I also wanted the Jackal to win.
When I tell my friends about this movie, I say it's like James Bond on steroids. One of my favorites 👍
They should remake this film where the jackal annihilates anyone who stands in his way and wins!
@Patrick Whelpley its not the same
or just make the same 1960s themed original book with just slight changes the book.
Huge plot hole: he puts the lid back on the bottle before offering another drink.
Bruce willis looks more of a zgood guy than richard gere does.
🔥Bruce Willis 🔥
These days it would be via facebook or twitter, right?
Usually Bruce is the hero. Yet I think it gives a much better acting performance, when he plays evils.
Yeah he fits vad guys well
John Wick does this just for a gold coin.
then he's a damn fool. You'd need a helluva of resources to hide from all the US agencies, private military companies, foreign professional hitmen and whatnot who'll hunt your ass for killing the 1st lady.
@@HABO2210 He mostly would have PISSED off the secret service detail protecting her. Her being killed on their watch would be an dishonor on the agency.
Michael Corleone would have sacrificed his hitman, right up to the face "BA-DA-BING, BA-DA-BANG".
Man, if this guy got 70 million in 1997, I want to know how much the FBI paid Thomas Crooks.
Jackal: How many people know about this?
Russian: You and I.
Jackal: I guess you're dead. Too many people know.
Russian: But, I hired you.
Jackal: But, you're dealing with a professional, no one can know.
*Bam*
What doesn't make any sense. How is he going to get paid?🤣😂😭
@@lamarlewis3183 That's the point.
Anybody else notices at the beginning he picks up the spot glass, then puts it back down with the same amount of 🥃 in it?
bruce willis should play more villians
He has.
He's the biggest killer of movies lately. Anything he is in just stinks to high heaven.
And it's because he no longer cares. He's just in it for a paycheck.
But isn’t the guy sick or something? Some major debilitating condition?
$70,000,000 in 1997 = $135,386,002.52 in 2024
Not a bad movie, but the original was so much better.
This was a good movie.
If the mission actually was kept between those two it would have been a success
So sad to see BW in decline he was an extremely good actor
the real jackal would never taken the risk of kiling that person in real life
Best scene of the film. That and the gun purchase. Every thing else, can't even compare to the original.
70 mil in cash? kinda hard to hide
Offshore account in some islands!!
That's what money laundering is for.
1:36 *He empties his glass* 1:51 now it's full again
He’s that damn good.
i love the movie!!
One of the very best scenes
this wouldve made a cool Bond film with Brosnan instead of Gere.
yeah Gere wasn't much interesting, Jackal was too cool to be killed by him
Richard gere is a big mistake in this movie
Bruce was better off the hero!
With inflation, better make it 70 billion
How did such a cool character like the jackal get built up just to get knocked down by romance novel hero Deqluin Mulqueen?
yeah, if they let him live or at least made ending where nobody would know did he survived or not then it weould be great, instead they went for typical generic hollywood ending
That's 90s idealism for you. The good guys always won in films back then. Things have changed a lot since then obviously.
If this was today their conversations would be recorded like five times just sitting there.
Lol his russian is terrible. But still atleast i could understand what he said unlike in that Steven Seagal movie were he tried speaking russian. I ussaly need subtitles for his english but his russian was so bad i couldn't freaking understand a thing.
This is without any doubt Bruce Willis' movie not Richard Geres.
Not a patch on the ORIGINAL film. Edward Fox was the Jackel. It felt like it was almost being made in real time. Great film.
Best part of the movie was when he smoked Jack Black..
✌🍟🍔🎩🇫🇯🇲🇩🎧🌭🥂🍾🔪
Fun bit of back story: Richard Geres character was serving a life sentence for animal cruelty and not IRA terrorism....one year in jail for every gerbil inserted. 😎
Yes
