It really bothers me when handsome guys like mingyu and eunwoo only gets interviewed about their looks. They didn't train for years to get reduced to "handsome guys" 🙈 they're both super talented at what they do and should be recognized for that as well

Signe møller it’s not reduced just i think that it’s their best feat so they’re going to talk about much more than his other feats, take example woozi, as much as an amazing dancer he is, his best feat is his song producing so everytime they’re going to a variety show, they’re going to talk about his songs than his dance. The same applies to mingyu as gis visual is his best feat so they’re going to talk about it more than his rapping because there was 4 guest so they need to divided the screen time
But, the fact that mingyu got accepted in pledis bcuse of his look really got me cracked up (but now he’s a great rapper❤️)

Yeah no definitely it’s not narcissism or anything along those lines. He is in the entertainment industry and in public eye so there is all sorts of attention drawn to him and not everyone is kind, if u have low self esteem and can’t pull yourself up chances are ur mental health is gonna suffer and u also won’t be able to perform properly at the task at hand, and this goes for any kind of work not just idols but as an idol it’s probably even more important for him to show up for himself, so that he can perform well and look put together. Also another huge factor is that anyone with healthy self esteem should technically be able to stand in front of the mirror and evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, appreciate and have gratitude for their strengths and decide to work on their weaknesses. We are all human and that’s why every person has both. However, now a days it’s trendy to have a horrible opinion of oneself and “glorify” our flaws and have crappy self esteem cuz that’s “relatable”. A lot of this stems from things like social media and the environment but my point is ppl are just not used to seeing someone actually appreciating themselves and recognizing and expressing gratitude for the work they put in in everyday life. It should be a norm, u should thank yourself for showing up everyday. It technically makes no sense to talk trash about ur own self cuz u just affirm horrible things about urself. Would u ever say those horrible things to someone else? If not then why say it to urself who is making it through every moment of life?🤷🏻♀️ tbh I used to think that ppl who were comfy with themselves were full of themselves but that’s not true cuz they have their insecurities too but they just know how to deal with those better and don’t go putting themselves down about it( I know that alot of ppl struggle with really low self esteem and they may require help which there is nothing wrong with, but this is just what I’ve seen about these kind of ppl)

Sofiah fthi its okay if you're new! in korea the beauty standards for people's skin is to be very fair and white because its considered "high class" but mingyu's skin is quite dark. there's nothing wrong with his skin tho, and i like it very much and im sure other carats arent bothered by it.
