A great game between two top players at the peak of their form. It is the tale of the hare and the tortoise! Jaspers with incredible runs when he needs them cannot defeat Caudron plodding along consistently scoring 4 per inning. A real pleasure to watch.
Wow. Ira, am i right, that this match is one of the best ever played in terms of points per inning? i mean 98 poinst in 26 innings and so an average of 3,77 is absolutely stunning.
@iralee3c What a great match to watch! Both players over 3.5!!! I know the turning point in the match was when Caudron made a BIG fluke shot when he was down 27 to 28. (44:13) Of course he had no shame and ran another 7 points. Ultimately, that made the difference in the match. Jaspers also made a fluke but he was on a run of 7 already and only made two more after that.
@tuitenlabi Only for this format of first to 50. It doesn't aply in the set system (best of 3 ot 5 sets in which each set is first to 15) because they have alternating breaks there.
@iralee3c To answer you question in your introduction: High runs don't win matches if you don't score enough in the rest of the innings. Caudron played a moyenne of 50/13=3.8462, Jaspers 48/13=3.6923. So over the whole match Caudron was just that little bit more productive per inning. And thát is what wins matches. BTW Jaspers defeated Caudron in the semi-finals of the European Championship this earlier this month.
Billiards is a beautiful game. Love pool, but always wanted to learn billiards. It's not a totally different skill, but it's not too similar either. I wonder if billiard fans are often people interested in math and logic and such things.
Billiards has nothing to do with logic. It's all about physics, elastic collisions and spin to be precise. The only way math is involved is that math is the language of science (in casu physics). I doubt that being good at math will make you a good billiards player. IMO you need a bit of a natural feeling for it, and for the rest a huge amount of practice and experience. Practice can make you a good club player, but without the natural talent you'll never make it to become a champion.
C:shot 6, inning 1- talent, skill & experience are not always sufficient to avoid very risky kisses. a shot on the yellow left side (short- long-short) could be a better choice. anyway good start with a run of 5 for Caudron.
Jaspers: point 1,first inning-difficult shot, long rail- long rail & short one. 3/4 ball hit with reverse right side english. N.B. controlling the cue ball depends on talent, skill, technique, experience & mental concentration. controlling the stopping of the three balls is impossible.view next position. even for easy shots with low speed , the control on three stopped balls is IMPOSSIBLE.
the second last shot was not a good choice. last position was predictable. I would have hit the white ball first to get the easier next position as long as there's no more inning left.
I watch this great game whenever I need some motivation to play better. now I think jaspers had no choice on the second last shot. he did what he could do best. he was just unlucky on the next position. this is a great game.
If both players reach the required score in the same number of innings, it goes to a tiebreak. Balls are spotted for each player, and they keep going until they miss. If still tied, repeat.
yes you can play against them with left hand, and yes you still lose, and yes i dont see you competing against them nor seeing your name on the world ranking list. No need to reply when you know it is true with with the facts

Yep .. in Dutch they say : "een goed zwijn krijgt jongen" .. zwijn=fluke .. so much as a fat pig gets young ones ;)
C: point 2 - a 4 rail shot (long rail, short , long, long)- 1/4 ball hit, right side english, medium speed.
SIMPLEMENTE UN JUEGO SUPER BUENO ENTRE ESTOS GRANDES MAESTROS MUY MUY BUENO POR ALGO ES MI IDOLO FREDERIC CAUDRON
C: point 4, inning 1- around the table ,long rail, short, long-3/4 ball hit, left side english & high speed.
That's some ridiculous average by both players. Jaspers lost with close to 4 average? That is insane.
@tuitenlabi Only for this format of first to 50. It doesn't aply in the set system (best of 3 ot 5 sets in which each set is first to 15) because they have alternating breaks there.

@cacthang he's not ashamed..this gesture shows kidness and fairplay
Yay, I learned to count to 22 in French. Forgot about that since high school
Gelmiş geçmiş en iyi maç olabilir.. hatta gelmiş geçmiş gelecek ☺️
Thank u Ira...2 top players...Please view my comments for this match and for 3-cushion billiards in general...
I don't understand how he only hit two cushions in the cannon around the 30:30 mark.
J shot 2, first inning-a miss on very delicate shot-perfect hit & speed control.this game is amazing : you may play perfect and score zero...
Twenty years ago 1,5 would take you to any semi finals. Now you can loose with moyenne 3.5!
Nice upload
Thanks!!! very good ... (the referee is George Harrison The Beatle -not?)
Billiards is a beautiful game. Love pool, but always wanted to learn billiards. It's not a totally different skill, but it's not too similar either. I wonder if billiard fans are often people interested in math and logic and such things.
Michael Bauers not really. But being better at math and geometry would help imho

50-48 in 13 turns.... well I guess Jaspers must have the record of the highest loosing average in 3 cushion carom history!
Efrain Chavez u
Yep. And he broke his record too. Against Semih Saygıner. 40-25 in 6 innings. Averages 6.66 vs 4+
@@denostar Yes he did .. and even worse .. Semih made 12 from a fluke ;)
@@denostar he didn’t break it. Anyway, it is tougher to remain the average in a longer run.
@@denostar i did 32 points in the 4 first innings (10-0-10-12), however i finished the game of 40 points after 22 innings :(.
@hijtohema WOW! Do those numbers include practice as well? Thanks
C:shot 6, inning 1- talent, skill & experience are not always sufficient to avoid very risky kisses. a shot on the yellow left side (short- long-short) could be a better choice. anyway good start with a run of 5 for Caudron.
best match ever
@htascon
It's the billiards equivelant to clapping.
never quit
Thanks For The Uploading... :D
@iralee3c Do you know what Jaspers and Caudron's highest runs are? thanks!
@tuitenlabi They are playing "equal-innings". The losing player has a chance to tie the game from an opening break shot if he wasn't the breaker.
Impresionante nivel de juego
Legend match!
the guy with the moustache is from another planet..LOL

Magnifica partida
@htascon its a habbit in billiards..means congratulations
caudron is respect man^^
Dick has still won some major events.
does the judge knows that is filming the game?

Couldn't be a bigger spoiler! Thanks! @iralee3c

C:point 5, inning 1- 1/4 ball hit, no english. difficult speed control on the cue ball.
Camera needs to get out of the kiss with the ref.
obrigado pela partilha. Jogo fantastico. Thanks.
Fuego muy bonito
harika bi oyun zaten en iyi iki oyuncu büyük zevk alıyo insan izlerken :)
why do people in the audience sometimes snap their fingers?
C:point 5, inning 1- 1/4 ball hit , no english. difficult speed control.
Un PATO y siete patines. Te has "pasao", Caudron... ¡pobre Dick! ahora entiendo...
Le messie a encore frappé
@nineballjunky Caudron 27, Jaspers 26
Supper
The referee cleans the balls with a cloth and then places them with his bare hand on the table? WTF?
C: point 3 , inning 1- 1/4 ball, right english, low speed; making the point with easy position for the next shot.
Caudron: the break shot is a natural one that may leave an easy position if well played. 1/2 ball hit, right side english& medium speed.
Jajajaja
Son burrasos
Mas de una hora,,, 🙂
Don't give spoilers in the title please!
If he ties what happens?

at 1;21.19 we hear a goat baaah lol
I love this but the camera angle and the fact that the referee is so often in the way of our view... fucking terrible, frankly.
they will go to shootout, dude.

assPOCKET :D

C i 2-an easy shot , a natural around the table- short,long,long-missed by Caudron...A TOP PLAYER MISSES LESS EASY SHOTS THAN AVERAGE PLAYER...
