I find it funny how Melanie's VA has been doing some of the ad reads at the beginning, because I can very easily imagine her having done ad reads exactly like this when she was doing Ghost Hunt UK.

@@macabrecitrus2127 There's this folk legend that little gnomes (I think would be the best English equivalent) live in the anthills. So, by stepping on them, you'd be destroying their homes and thusly cursed for disrespecting them.
a lot of tma episodes are just "hey would that be fucked up or what". this is one of them.
Is it weird that this sounds kinda inspiring to me? Like a bunch of entities are small and insignificant on their own but together can be so great. I know it was supposed to be scary but this episode kinda gave me a good feeling.

There's a voice line for Ramattra in Overwatch 2 where he talks about ants being his favourite animals because of how inspiring they are in that way. His VA made it feel really wholesome!

John is really inhuman. He doesn't actually care about others' suffering, he only sees other people as "I owe him/her something" "I don't know them so I don't care". That's the most horrifying part of the whole season for me.

Ok, but that is a lot of people to know. Like, the guy covered in ants is surrounded by "hundreds of those dearest to him". I only have like 5-18 people who are really close to me like that. Does he really have that many loved ones or are they like multiples of the same people?

Quintillions of ants? How bad does this ever get in reality? I had to look it up. The average ant colony, counted between all species of ants, numbers 20k to 100k ants. The largest ant colony recorded to date, the Argentine Ant Supercolony, has an estimated 307 million ants in it, spanning 6000 km from Italy to the Spanish Atlantic coast. (Not sure how dense, but it's 51 ants per meter, and probably not evenly spread.) ...So, massive, but not infinite. I don't know, maybe that satisfies someone's curiosity, or comforts someone who was given the heebie jeebies by this episode. ...Obviously no numbers limit in a horror-farming hellscape reality twimst, but ay.
I absolutely do not like ants. This episode actually almost made me sick. It's great.

1. Love the ants. I like ants. Yes, they don't like me back (one of my earlies memories was stepping on a nest and being covered by fire ants - and later my field research plot waa below a tree covered in the tiny painful buggers). Ants can have a little revenge, as a treat.
