I'll admit, I didn't know much about support structures at that time, so over compensated which did lead to lots of fiddly work, for sure. Happy with the results though and learned a lot. :)
The details are amazing. When you zoomed in on the models the first time, I was mindblown. Never thought you could get so many details on so tiny figures. Great work and great color sheme. 👍🏼👍🏼
Oh thanks! :) I love this army. Honestly, I earnestly hope that GW doesn't touch Epic at all other than what they've already committed to. They've pretty repeatedly shown that their objective is not really about supporting hobbying communities. While I absolutely LOVE their IP, given that they released the rules to the public for free, the Epic scene (similar to Warmaster and Battlefleet Gothic) is experiencing a golden age that GW only wishes they were able to pull of themselves. This is because the community has stepped up to the plate and expanded these games in a way that is far better than what that company could put out. :)
I never really understood how epic didn't catch on more, 40K is awesome, but it's basically a skirmish game, epic suits the universe better in a lot of ways.

Just picked up my printer but in the middle of a move so havent had a chance to start running off any models. Was wondering how easy it might be to print those termagaunts off without a base attached? Was hoping to do everything on MDF bases.
Well, the stl came with them attached to the base, so I think that would like require significant modification of the 3d file. Also, those gaunts are super tiny, I'd be worried about them being successfully printed without a base and they're so tiny I'd be worried that support structures might be super hard to remove.
don't suppose you have a place anywhere to get the end stls that you used. Would be fun to print up a few epic scale armies to play with and you have done a ton of them now

They were some of the very first prints that I did on my Mars. Do you have the project files handy? What are you printing on? I can take a look at your settings. :)
@@Raddaatt ok. I printed on an Elegoo Mars Pro. So the burn layers were 60s each for 5 layers and then 6s for every layer after. 0.02mm/layer. I didn't bother with support structures or anything, just laid the based totally flat on the build plate and went from there. I was using Elegoo Standard Grey. But if I was printing Tylenol again I'd absolutely use the elegoo abs life grey resin. That stuff is incredible

I'm just nudging my kids and their friends into Epic and have sent them a link to this as a couple of them love 'nids (and your bone and violet colour scheme is pretty bang on what we're going fo!). I've got a lot of these files but can't find all of them. I wonder if some have been taken down, in fact. Obviously there are good reasons not to post links all over the place (although if you could that would be handy) but if you could give us some of the key search words that would be appreciated. I can't find the swarms anymore (I accidentally deleted them a while back), nor your Tyranid Warriors, which look more robust than the ones I've got. Since I posted this video I got myself a Saturn and while I wholeheartedly recommend the Mars series, the Saturn is a fine machine of few rivals. Love it.
Tbh I have always been attracted to this scale because it allows one to truly represent combined arms and mechanized mobile units far better than 28mm scale. In 28mm one really only fights at the squad or company level, movement and ranges are severely scaled down because of the practicalities of having them on a gaming table. At 6mm one can have a greater representation of a true battle with multiple components working in concert with each other and moving as they might in a normal scenario.

I have genestealers but haven't played with them overly much. The Tyrants are ok but expensive, and the Raveners are a great answer to surprise assaulters.
Oh great question. So in Epic a "stand" is counted as 1 unit within a formation (think of them like squads). So in this case the swarms that you see technically count as a single entity.
@@ireallycant4416 In epic your stands represent 5 Models each. So that's one die rolled for a full combat squad. But the only thing you would have as shooting is the heavy weapons, bolters are small arms and they only play a role in assaults. Epic turns represent a longer time span than 40k turns - in fact a single assault action (of which multiple can occur in one turn in Epic) roughly equals an entire game of 40k.
i find it hard to play W40K nids with only few minis, while even their codex says that their tactic is basically swarm with cannon fodder... nice minis, well painted too :) . will deff try nid next time, just need to finish my "space commies" first ;) .

I wish GW would make this scale. It would look like a legit swarm of tyranids. Also with this scale you can make models that would generally be too big.
I'm trying to understand the etiquette. There are at least a dozen comments here asking for help in finding the stl files but you don't respond to those. Are these your designs and you want money for them? Is it about the work involved? Do you want people to spend the same amount of time searching for them as you did? Like them, my natural instinct is also to ask, but if there is a reason I'm not supposed to, I'd like to understand.
Epic is played at a 6mm scale. I very much enjoy this scale because the game better reflects actual combined arms modern combat tactics. The scale also helps with scaling of weaponry too. You have more movement of forces at this scale and the scope of the battle feels more like an actual army than in larger scales.
imagine few hundred termagants/hormagunts/gargoyles and/or genestealers in heroic scale, not to mention other bigger units and "titans" from nids. EPIC is only way to play game as it was supposed to be playing (at least with nids, IG and Orks) .
The printing and painting is impressive, uh the presentation of the armies is great, just, um... Verbal tics. Losing count of "uhs" and "ums". Uh... Subbed... Um...

Yep! 6mm is the right scale. I used 30mm round bases for the swarms and 20mm for the single dude like carnifexes
