- Heroes of the Pacific is an obscure historical World War 2 flight game that everyone from its publishers, all the way to its players seems to have forgotten. With this review and video, I hope to convince at least a few of you to try this retro PC game out.

I've heard some complaints that the original ISO files were too complicated to work, so I've compressed a pre-installed version of game that should run right off the bat. The only thing you need is WinRAR to extract the game file. If Windows Defender throws a fit, make an exception for the folder you're extracting it to. Otherwise, you should be able to launch the game just fine through Heroes(dot)exe
I downloaded the first Cd1 from your link I tried the setup wizard it didn’t work or I’m doing something wrong
@@garrett807 my antivirus keeps popping up that something in the wizard is trying to cause issues. I'm not entirely sure to use thise one.
@@Tman2bard It's a cracked installer and so it's bound to cause false positives. I've used this installer on multiple different computers and have never gotten any issues.
I have to say, you providing a link is probably one of the best things you could have done, you've probably just preserved this game by yourself. It's a shame just how many games fade away, get delisted, or just forgotten we NEED preservation and the ability for future generations to play games like these.
This is the game that got me into WWII history and love of researching planes and ships of the Pacific War. Nostalgia is hitting hard right now watching this.

this game is the reason why i am such a huge sucker for an all white A6M2 Zero. Countless hours lost to this gem of a game
This game was really ahead of its time. I stayed up all night on school nights just absolutely addicted to it
Cool video! I'm playing through the game right now. It's insane how it just runs without any issues on windows 10.
If there is anything I can say I didn't like was the microphone, it fluctuates a lot.

My dad and I played this game almost to death on the PS2. Split screen was so fun. Miss these old simpler titles.
This was one of my first computer games that I actually owned! I enjoyed it so much that I lost count of how many times I replayed its campaign. It also got me into military history and, among other things, eventually inspired me to join the Navy. This game definitely deserves a remaster!
this game was ported to PS2. While the graphics were a bit choppier, the game still played extraordinary well. Top notch sound effects, fun storyline, I think it's the best WW2 game on PlayStation 2.

The fact that this game hasn’t gotten a remake with a co op option is a travesty. I loved this game back in the day. Horrible and hilarious voice acting and fun missions

kind of confusing they went with midway for the torpedo mission when the yamato the largest battleship ever was sunk by american aerial torpedos that probably could have made for a better place to put a torpedo mission
I'm guessing because Midway was the combat debut of the TBF Avenger, also probably to not have two dive bombing major battles in a row (sink the Shoho).
One thing that always bothered me about the game was the lack of the SB2C Helldiver, don't get me wrong I love the SBD as much as the next guy but I could use the extra firepower those 20mm cannons bring on a few missions

I played the crap out of this game. Was the only Ace Combat fix for me on the Xbox. I also enjoyed the slower prop plane combat as opposed to firing missiles on lock at 10 miles away.
Regarding 6:38, I'm not sure if this would help, but I ripped the music files from the game a few weeks ago. Is there a good way to contact you?

@@CheemsofRegret As far as I can tell, the entire soundtrack was composed by Laurence Maddy.
As for song names, there's nothing official, so the best you've got is just the file names.
For some reason what the instructor said to Crow on the torpedo tutorial as they go to drop on the second ship, always stuck with me.
“Same thing as before, same hight and speed”
It’s probably a slight variation on that since it’s been over a decade since I played. But I have no idea why that stuck with me 😂
LOVE THIS GAME!!!! I have been trying to find out how I can play this game on my PC or online. Can you please help me? I have the version from 2005 for PC but the game is so old, it will not install on my new pc. Is PlayStation 2 the only PlayStation that it is on? I greatly appreciate your help! @@TonyaInWV the original XBOX is just the XBOX lol. Not a lot of WW2 flight games get made these days so I'm not sure if there are any.

It sucks I have the pc Version of the game and since adobe is gone I can no longer download the game with the disk

Bad news, buddy. I tried to trigger the video by idling on the main menu but it wouldn't do it. I then digged into the game's file and couldn't find any such video, only the historical footage used for the campaign. It might not be included on the PC version.
Soo id like to steer you Warplanes Online Combat for multiplayer and the offline version Warplanes WWII Combat is Exactly the "new" / reboot of this imo...try theowing it onto a smart tv and get a Bluetooth xbox controller. When your done flying arcade...dl Fighter Wing 3.1. Cheers!!
