    I use dowels as well. I love being able to make it exactly the size I want with very little money. Scrap wood and dowels. Great video.

    I just got about 500 sockets at an estate sale. Now I know how I can organize them. One suggestion to save time is that standard peg board has 1/4" holes 1" on center. Clamping that over the board will let you go straight to the drill press without the time consuming grid drawing.

    That design would lend itself well to a french cleat wall!

    40 years ago we did have the speed square and cnc was being used. Maybe not by the consumer in regards to cnc but industry was.

      Lol, it was more like 50 years. I keep forgetting how old I’m getting. I don’t feel like I’m 70. I just want to turn the clock back.

    I like this. Might make a quick and dirty version where I just set the sockets on the board where I want them and drill a drywall screw through the socket into the board.
    Or maybe just screw some of those cheap $1 rails onto a board so it would still grip the sockets

    Great video!! Super simple design and customizable. My current socket organizer won’t fit into my new tool box but I can make this to fit.

    Great idea, Paw Paw. Gonna try it.
    I see the Army plaque on your wall. I'm an Army veteran, too. Spent 14 months in Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne. How about you?

    What was the length of each dowel on the 1/4" wooden socket organizer you made and what was the depth of the hole you drilled?

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The depth of the holes are 3/8” deep

      Thanks. I’d had a similar idea some time ago, and purchased some aluminum rod for the pins. Haven’t had time or energy recently to go further, though.
