Absolutely brilliant video! I've spent many occasions down there capturing thunderstorms arriving up from the continent. Our group have recently invested in drones and would be very keen to fly in that area when storms are approaching. If you have any contacts or links that would assist me in applying for permission, I would be very grateful (your link in previous comment doesn't work). Cheers
Thanks for the kind comment 😊 looks like the CAA have killed that portal service. Try emailing them at apply@caa.co.uk to find out the link. The trouble with getting permission for storm filming would be the application time! I like filming storms too! Check out th-cam.com/video/f-dlCHmlwbE/w-d-xo.html
@@lnrmedia208 Appreciate the response, yeah I'll see what I can do with that email. Might be able to secure permission to fly there whenever it's storming providing I stay below a certain altitude or something
love this. I have been asked to do a job close by .c.1.5km - Who did you contact to get permission. Was it difficult? I Would appreciate any advice. Thanks. alex
Thanks Alex. Long term negotiations between CAA and EDF. Took 3 months. Use this form to apply apply.caa.co.uk/CAAPortal/terms-and-conditions.htm?formCode=BAL28
@@lnrmedia208 i have just gone through the process and it was quite easy to be honest..... perhaps as I am only looking at a small area which isn't in any other restriction zone but everyone including EDF was very helpful.
