    Looks great. I am wondering if you have a set of lets say 20 songs and many consists of medleys with tempo changes and perhaps some plugins. won't this set up be very consuming on the CPU? I usually export my tracks to a stereo and make a new set to make it less heavy on the CPU. Using this method would be a lot easier, but I am just worried about the computer load?

    I will be wanting to play a my synth live and singing while having my backing tracks play behind me. Do you suggest that I DI my synth into ableton and program the live automation along side my tracks in ableton live? And then run my vocals outside of ableton?? What are your thoughts on that?

    I like what you are doing. My issue/bottleneck appears to center around setting things up with the mioXL in a fashion where Ableton accepts while also making everything forward compatible to add new software and hardware synths. In particular, legacy Moog equipment. All properly syncd. It’s a little overwhelming.

    Great consistency. I love that your over-all message is the same, yet adds just a bit more each time to make me think in a different way.
    When using a device like LioBox, is the title information on the LioBox screen gathered from the Marker track? Or do you need to name Locators?

    Great video as always. I’ve been a follower for years but will start to be more vocal as well as share my experience running Ableton for backing tracks as well as my solo use case. I learned a lot from this and I consider myself a vet. Thanks bro!

    i already have a set with 250 songs and i did it the "wrong way" but's thats more due do time issues i had because the band went from cubase to ableton and i only had 1 week and not the time to arrange each and every song into it's own project and then put the live set together. i simply created the tracks moved the stems in and marked the song with it's name as i'm using the setlist plugin. ist it possible to like group each song with the track only on selection and then have it the way you have? problem now ofc is when i select the track everything will be grouped. what i mean like is select the tracks and highlight the specific song only so it will group the tracks on timeline selection and create new tracks out of it within a new group? i don't want to start over :(

    Helped me a lot with my own live set, thanks dude. Simple question, it happened to me when I am setting up and playing like 1 hour set, maybe 10 songs, why does my DISK signal is blinking ? I am now afraid of running more than 45 mn set in order to avoid crashing the disk on live (that happened to me many times on live). I am on SSD of course, still don't get the reason.

    Side question about 11.3.2 and auto warp (pardon the digression) with the new Autoharp improvements, have you had to to review it and will you still be advocating that we all turn off autoharp long samples as an initial step? How do you feel the improvement impact the workflow you (and everyone else FWIW ) have been advocating all these years?

    Dude, your tutorials are absolutely indispensable. I refer back to these formatting videos all the time. I'm not a staff member anywhere, but an "engaged volunteer" that has a passion for this stuff. I've got a cool set that I built using your method, and we are using it for an outreach shortly. Looking to learn more!

    Hi thank you for sharing this with us. It is phenomenal and very helpful. I have just few questions. In our case, most of the time we don't have a keyboardist. How would you put a Worship Pad "in between" of a particular song to give space for the worship leader to exhort or whatsoever.
    Do you put the Worship Pad between the songs or you have another method to do that?
    Thank you.

      If it's a fixed amount of time-add time between songs, if not, use something like my Pad Player to use MIDI

    Hello. Love your clips, I´m looking for a programm to run Backing tracks live but I´m not into Ableton so far. My Problem is. I have to Manage around 150 Songs on Stage, we need around 60 per Night but want to have the flexibility to have acces to the whole katalog. My question is: should I create that One set with all the songs or should I create different Livesets, lets say per genre, so maybe to have 40 Pop Songs, 40 Rock Songs, 20 Country Songs and so on... How fast could ableton load these livesets or am I on the wrong way? Greetings from Germany :)

    • @fromstudiotostage
      @fromstudiotostage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would try and build one set. It depends on how many tracks you have per song if your computer can handle that, but I have students using Live Sets with 150-200 songs with no problems!

    Only fine for up to like 20 songs for a church gig or whatever. Not like 7/800 in corporate/wedding environment. I’ll have to watch your breakdown of session/arrg. But this is still not super effective. Greet video production though!

    Hey Will From your experience, in the case of having to Handle lets say music for non stop show... around 150songs, do you think an M1pro will be able to run that safely in arrangement view?
    I Understand that each track adds CPU consumption.... I get the idea of having separate tracks for each song... but after lets say 20 to 100.....you will have a huge load of +100 tracks.... and also visually is a lot
    I have had the issue that when I have a 6000 bar session if I have the full arrangement zoomed out, if I click a Locator for playback or cueing... it moves and gets misplaced, you zoom in and you can see in fact that has been moved to another place
    Probably in a Quantization way that is no desired and happens when you have a lot zoomed out
    Do you suggest Session view in this particular situation? I've seen sessions with hundreds of scenes.... working very fast....

    • @danielkim8228
      @danielkim8228 ปีที่แล้ว

      i've done somewhere around 90 songs in arrangement view on an M1 Pro, no issues (running clicks, guides, vocal processing computer MIDI cues, keys computer MIDI cues, and Lightkey all at the same time). obviously is not ideal from a "following along on the screen" standpoint but generally you only really need to see the song you're playing and the song that's up next on the screen.

      @@koleybolen1314 does AbleSet enable mid-set seamless transitions? for example, my band uses interludes at some parts of the set between songs that seemlessly transition to the next one, or hit specific lead ins to the next song out of certain songs

      Juan-a couple important things to point out here. The CPU usage in Arrangement and Session view is exactly the same, adding locators doesn't add CPU, it's all related to clips. So if you have 100 clips playing in arrangement view vs. session view you'll have the same result. If you're struggling to manage LOTS of songs visually, I would consider a setlist management plugin like Setlist, AbleSet, TAZ SP, or the LioBox. Those will allow you to get a "list" view of your content, without sacrificing the time and ease of using arrangement view. As far as can an M1 computer handle it-it all depends on the computer. a 150 song set with 2 stems per song is different from a 150 song set with 50 stems each. You've got to build your set and see how the computer can handle it.
      But-I want to dispel the myth that playing the same amount of tracks in arrangement view takes more CPU than session view.
