Just bought this kit today. Have not really built a traditional model kit and glad I found this video so I can see how the steps are supposed to look like when painted and assembled.

I like your reviews of cars, trucks, trailers, transporters, etc. I've already been able to take a few tips for my buildings with me, it's really fun to watch. You explain things pretty well. I've now built my own prototype. Keep up the good video.
RP, Glad it was helpful. It's our mission to inform and inspire! PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug!
I owned a 1984 Hurst/Olds. Cars are identical except the paint scheme is reversed. Mine was silver on top and black on bottom. The stripes are the same for both years of cars. It had the maroon interior so you can do like I did and just reverse the paint scheme to build the 1984 and last version of the car. BTW only around 3,000 to 3,500 of the cars were built.
Andy, Hmmm you could make them from a small aluminum nail. Find one of the proper size, cut it off about a quarter inch. You can also use rod and tube stock. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already, to help us inspire more modelers! -Doug
I never thought to add flocking and floor mats to my cars. That's a fantastic idea and I think it makes the car look more authentic. The floor polish trick is great too! What do you use for paint application? Are you airbrushing or using paint brushes?

I had an unorthodox idea(love doing that) my first car ever, was a 1978 olds cutlass supreme, they have no such model kits of any Cutlass supreme of any late 70s/early 80's Olds. the Hurst, other than the color sceme and some of the mods is not much different then the Cutlass Supreme. I was going to make a special Hurst to commemorate the car I so loved(even with its 260 engine with only a basic carb) I always wanted to supe It up but never had the cash, my job paid shit for money! my college was out of pocket too. I loved that car! and I wanted it to be even sweeter because of that love! It is flat now, my brother flattened it in a wreck(very stupid of him). The Olds, I want to do to commemorate a memorial to my great car The 1978 Olds Cutlass Supreme. In 1983 Hurst status. So I was going to color this blue(and white roof) white interior. The Engine Block, GM medium light blue engine block(and rocker covers). As in 1978 GM Engine Blue. The carpet(I recall) was a light or medium blue. wood grain dash facing with a blue dashboard top. It is unusual for GM, in the early '80's to have a black engine block, I did the research though, and can confirm you are correct, it is black as pitch!, satin or semi-gloss. I will be doing mine blue, and described as above. if my Olds had morphed into a Hurst it would have been like that and I would have been a happy highschool kid!
Mine didn’t come with metal pins for the wheels what do i do? Im not sure should i just glue them in. Its my 2nd car my first i never completed because the whole pick up bed was warped and I already glued and painted the bed.
IM, You can glue the wheels in place. I always do. If you want, you can cut off some small nails of appropriate size and use those for the axle pins. PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug
Do you recommend a supplier for white lettering decals for the tires? Back in the day, I don't think I ever saw them with out white lettering on the tires. Thanks!
CFL, Cherry is a little bright compared to the original car's interior color. It really was a maroon or dark cranberry shade. You could decant a cherry and add a little black to it for airbrushing but all-in-all - it's close and it's just a matter of what you want to do! -Doug
Right On Replicas Thanks Doug but I don’t have an airbrush since I just started to do model making so I only have Testors paint and that’s it for my area. And I don’t have a way to order online so should I mix the Testors Gloss Black with the Cherry?
CFL, If only Testor's paint is available the do sell a maroon its #1186TT in brush bottles. You can mix paint by slowly adding a touch of black to cherry too! -Doug
Right On Replicas Hey Doug thanks for the advice! I have another model store. The other “model” store I usually go to is Micheals but there is one more model store I can go to and if there is no maroon I’ll use your advice!
WM, Place it in a sink with weight on it to flatten it out. Flood it with very hot water. You might even want to add small amounts of boiling water to the sinkfull. Let it cool then add cold water to set the form. Hope that helps! PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
JG - It's basically a line from the underside of the front and rear bumper strips. But the best thing to do is study online images of the car to determine the best placement for your build! -Doug
Kael - That was a DuPont Automotive paint but you can find a good source in Tamiya TS-11 spray cans. Decant if needed for airbrushing and followup up with a clear flat. -Doug
Kael Testors makes a small vial of maroon gloss. It's 1186tt. You can get it at Hobby Linc. www.hobbylinc.com/testors-maroon-1:4-oz-hobby-and-model-enamel-paint-1186tt

I had one too! The only thing missing on this model is the white letter Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Beautiful cars.
The only thing missing it the top of the air cleaner is chrome but over all great job
Thanks David. That option wasn't included with this kit! PS, please help us reach more modelers by subscribing if you haven't done so already. -Doug
Almost just like my race car.

Do you push the pin all the way in for the wheels?
AC, Yes they are fully seated! Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already, to help us inspire more modelers! -Doug
My uncle has two identical carry fast cars and fun thanks
PL, No Prob - Glad you liked it! -Doug
Where can I get the wheel pins from? Didn't come with the model and nothing noted anywhere that I can see on the box or instructions.

weres da best place for these metal. pins for the wheels n what size is it
