Beautiful Boeing 747-8 what a nice gigantic amazing airplane. Hey everyone guess what if you haven't noticed yet, Microsoft is coming out with the most realistic, fantastic, next generation flight simulator this year in 2020 on XBOX console and PC. Can't wait, it's gonna be amazing.
At 12:10 it looks like they’re high on PAPI glide slope with 4 white lights because the 747 cockpit is considerably further in front of and above the main gear compared to every other plane.
Glad you enjoyed it and it was a busy day at Schiphol. It’s always busy but holding this long with their 5 runways is rare for us and we’ve filmed dozens of arrivals into that airport.

As for me it's difficult to understand controller holding instructions at the beginning of video......Join over Sugol approach at 22.....It's better to say- Hold over Sugol expect further clearance at 22(or expected approach time at 22).What does standard phraseology say about it?

Captain uses his wrist for a touch of extra flare at 12:20 and again at 12:28 hints to the first officer with a hand gesture for lowering the nose slower but still comes down with a slight thump...only noticing...nothing more..
Is there an advantage to using V/S over FLCH in descent? I always thought FLCH would be better otherwise if V/S is too steep you increase speed and have to use soeedbrakes, if not steep enough you have to add power using more fuel? FLCH controls the speed by adjusting the rate of descent so would have thought it would be ideal?
I’m surprised pilots wore “Cargo uniforms”. It usually wear regular uniforms by pilots. I guess it’s special uniforms for pilots. It seem to me that this uniforms are for military.
They wear both. This trip had 3 flights and for 2 they wore civilian uniforms. Not sure of the exact reason. This was a night flight. Perhaps this is more comfortable 🤷♂️
Figured it was a private cargo carrier by the headphones and uniforms. And it looks like the company is cheap tight wad by the looks of those headphones. I bet the pilots aren't making much either.
This was the same cargo plane that smashed into the threshold lights at the same airport in Jan 2017. Cause was continued flight below glideslope and to fast of a descent. Rookie.
The first-officer is in control but too taciturn for my comfort (very little confirmatory rapport), even though the Captain is in active communications with ATC.

I like the revised flight deck and new avionics in the 747-8. Nice step up from the 400 and earlier versions. Very smooth touch down by the Pilot. 👊😎

Not sure. Maybe the noise was greater than the actual touching down of the nose wheel

JustPlanes , it was hot in cockpit. I think pilots turn the air conditioning on. It’s thick uniforms.

The Russian pilots are doing a good job, constant changes and flying in circles due to the traffic hold. It must be very frustrating!
this big bird always gives me trouble in the simulator..rather heavy and coming down fast on approach..but this was a good landing..
Oh that’s nice that you’re able to fly it yourself in the sim. Wish I had time to try that our. Maybe when I retire 😆
