Best secret is to keep everything simple, take 5-10mins each day to see what is trending or which designs are selling & then create designs around them.
Keep your designs as simple as you can & try to make your own design templetes so you can quickly edit them to fit a new trend or niche. This will save you time & also help you to upload faster.
Finally try & find other people on social media that are designers in your niches. Join groups on social media platforms who are happy for you to promote your designs on. Most groups will have a large followering already so use groups as free advertising ( just don't spam them with all of your designs in one day).
It will take time, just keep designing & uploading, stay active on your socials & in all the groups you join. Once you start getting people into your stores then you will notice a stead rise in followers & in sales. At this point its more important that you stay active & you keep uploading new designs as this will help retain your customers whilst gaining more followers & sales. 👍
One tip I would add : If you have slow (...or NO ) sales.....RE-visit your Titles !!
See if it's still relevant to your Niche.
Sometimes, just re-tweaking the Title will bump up your Design.
The secret is hard work and perseverance.

My sales are still pretty slow, but here some tips I have:
You can use the merchtitans tool for tagging but don't it blindly, many of the tags are not relevant to your design. Your design is unique and you should come up with at least a few tags of something that's very particular of your design
- If you have different versions of one same design, making sticker packs is a good idea because you can increase your number of uploading by using something you already have while also fulfilling a demand (you can also increase your margin by doing that)
- If you use a white text design, it might look good in items like t-shirts or mugs, but it'll look weird in stickers if they don't have a black border (or a border of some other color)
Yes, agreed, research is very important. It's good to know what sells. I fell in the trap of making design that I like. It's not about me.
I think some don't understand what "DEMAND" means in POD. lol

Thanks Ryan, great video! My strategy has been to try and spend an hour a day doing research, creating a few designs and uploading. I do think the next step is to automate uploading, that is by far the most time intensive part, especially if you multiply it out to various platforms. One upload to red bubble can take a few minutes, so it's super draining to do multiple
Not that my results will be typical, but I paid for allsunsets a day or 2 ago. Used merch informer to research a little. Tossed a sunset design up on Teespring and it sold within 24 hours.

As always, an excellent video for beginners :) If you're a newbie like myself, just a warning with Redbubble. I followed all the rules, making certain that all designs were my own or from sites like Pixabay, etc. On November 11, 2020 I learned my account was suspended without warning, not even an email. I did some searching on sites like Reddit, TH-cam, etc. and found that this is quite common with Redbubble. I contacted them, and am waiting for a response. It's a great site for beginners, so take care and read everything, as thorough as I was, I still must have missed something.

Ryan, I've been selling on MBA for more the 2 years, my designs clearly improved quality during this time, I use tools like Merch Informer, but it is extremely hard to sell a few tees per month. In fact, there are 3 months I sell absolutely nothing.
For me, Merch is saturated. I would like to suggest a video on how to promote the tee on google ads or so.
Merch is saturated only for those that create designs for saturated niches.
I'm not big in "pay to play", I promise you can make sales without advertising

So...Teespring is being super glitchy.....I am unable to edit any listing on there b/c requests keep timing out....especially annoying b/c I can't get the template to use Flying Upload.....ugh...I'm now trying to get back into uploading to Teespring.......
Also, I've uploaded to KDP over a week ago and they are still in review.....
I've gotten more sales this week on Redbubble than ever!!
Just try uploading to Teespring today....what a hassle !!!

I just figured out Flying Upload for both KDP and POD...now just to get everything together....(hopefully I'll win the KDP contest you had on your last video lol)....opened a digital download shop on Etsy with designs like Hella Bella.....though I was I had known about all these things before I started b/c now I have sooooo many designs to get online and it's a little overwhelming....haha
Not a bad idea though, is there a way of streamlining fulflilment for digital downloads? I never tried selling them on Etsy (or is it manual fulfillment?)
@@RyanHoguePassiveIncome you put the file they download so unless they don’t know how to do that it’s pretty hands off. Well, except the uploading because there is no automation for that that I am aware of. And you have a ton of designs. I’m still learning at the school of TH-cam for Etsy though.

Remember, kids, PROFIT is more important than number of items sold.
I’d rather sell 20 shirts for $100 profit than sell 60 shirts and make $60 profit.
Saw a TH-camr bragging that they sold 80 shirts in 1 day. Their profit was under $20. I sold 10 shirts that same day and made over $55.
Trying paying the bills with “I sold 80 shirts”.
