The damaged Tori Gate is a sacred symbol of something that survived WW2. It’s in the category of no photos are to be taken of it and no permits to do so are ever granted. It’s in the same category as the Golden Buddha statue they have in the game. If Ubisoft was at the TGS they would be ripped apart. This whole situation is insane.

From the trailers for the game having game breaking bugs/issues, religious symbols like a statue that is never in games or photos, the symbol of the Nobunaga family crest on the armour, banners with the same crest being cut off, even down to writing on paper. There are so many childish errors which basic research would have stopped.
The video where drunk japanese react to the trailer shows even more and when you actually hear japanese people talk about the things in the game being wrong on so many levels, it's like no japanese people were even consulted on historical aspects they should NOT get wrong.
Thing is, the games werent about historical accurate, they took parts from history and made it into a story, idk what crack the devs smoked to make THIS ONE GAME based purely and making it 100% historical accurate when its far from it
@Ferixstn i would say it became more scrutinized when they added the TOUR modes to origins, odyssey, and valhalla. A game mode about the history of the region.
I do not thing that the Tori Gate was intentional. BUT it is the absolute bigest F up you could ever make. Thise "consultant" companies rely pay off aren't they?

Ya I don't think it's intentional either but they are pretending like know-it-alls. They're so ignorant that I don't think they even know what a tori gate is orbwhat it represents. If you check their trailers you can see that they used a tori gate as an entrance to a random village and in other random places. They probably think it's just a generic gate.

Now that it got pushed back to February it is cooked. Not even black history month would help sales. Kingdom come deliverance 2 and monster hunter wilds is releasing in that month. Anyone that was thinking about getting shadows definitely isn't now.

The word you are looking for is underhanded. It is an underhanded move. By not sending out review copies they want to keep as many people in the dark as possible. That tells me the game is going to have sever issues at launch and might even be a bad game.

Honestly, I'd rather take IP limbo for everything that Ubisoft owns. It'll be better than seeing beloved franchises being run into the ground by the garbage decision-making of Ubi.
Especially, the entire Tom Clancy/Red Storm IPs needs to be taken away from Ubisoft. They've done everything to destroy it. It's heartbreaking to see everything we've lost.
The last I heard, the game has been pushed back to sometime in 2025.

Ubisoft has put a diversity message in the opens of their games since forever. This is just another case of American white people being offended for other people. Even being Asian myself I don’t care if there is a playable Asian male. Naoe looks cool and Yasuke is an actual guy that actually existed in their time period. As far as changes like armor that’s too intricate for Yasuke’s station, these games have always been stylized or unrealistic. Desmond Miles is an in-universe sci fi Jesus. In Assassin’s Creed 2 we fought a magic pope. In the last three games we played as a demigod and two separate reincarnations of gods. People are blowing this shit fully out of proportion. Does Ubisoft suck as a company? FUCK YES. But if the game ends up being fun I ultimately don’t give a shit about their politics. They need to take this time to fix things like the Tori gate and ensure it’s more respectful, but if criticism and hate ACTUALLY made them step back and reevaluate, this could be a good thing.
