It's a sin to receive holy communion if you're not in a state of Grace or if you go against the beliefs of the Catholic church. If an ordained man gave the holy sacrement knowing that person shouldn't receive it is a stain on the Bishop's/priest's soul that he needs to repent from.

Not giving communion for supporting abortion rights, ok. But not prosecuting the hierarchy who perpetuated the continuous violation of and preying upon of innocent children over decades. The hypocrisy just screams.
It is true that communion is for the imperfect and the sinner, but when one sins with no remorse and with no intention on becoming better, it makes sense that the church feels this way.
Yes, you're right except that Holy Communion cannot be taken by anyone who has MORTAL SIN on their soul. There must be a confession by The Sacrament of Reconciliation and PENANCE and a real turning away from that sin. To take the Sacrament of Holy Communion is punished by another Mortal Sin on that person's soul. It is also a direct slap in the face of our Lord and Savior.
Being in a state of grace does not mean being free of sin, it means recognizing you are at fault and actively seeking to change and ask for forgiveness which would mean you know you’re doing something wrong. That is church teaching, and that same church teaches that abortion is wrong so if a public figure actively supports abortion then he/she cannot be in a state of grace unless they recognized it is wrong and change which would mean they would have to stop their support and condemn abortion. There is no hypocrisy by the bishops here it’s clear if you know the Catholic teaching not just attend church every Sunday because a pew study claims 60% of churchgoing Catholics in the US don’t believe in the real presence which is the very foundation of the church. That's wrong completed twisted, Catholics believe in reconciliation that prepares one for receiving the Eucharist if one has many sins they should be taken care of through confession with a priest before receiving the Eucharistic that includes all sin.
America’s Founding Fathers did not seek to eradicate religion. Indeed, an overwhelming majority of those who signed the Declaration of Independence counted themselves as religious men. It may come as a surprise to learn that nowhere in the Constitution do the words separation of church and state appear. The idea of church/state separation came from a letter penned by Thomas Jefferson. Again, contrary to the propaganda from the revisionists, Jefferson’s cause was to protect religious liberties from an intrusive government! In no way did Jefferson or any of the other framers of the U.S. Constitution seek to restrict Americans’ religious activities. Americans live in a constitutional republic rather than a theocracy-and for good reason. State-sanctioned churches have historically become puppets of the government. In countries with state churches, the edicts of fallible man take precedence over the inspired teachings of Scripture. When the state is the head of the church, the integrity of the gospel is all too easily compromised. Christians are glad for the separation of church and state, as the separation is designed to protect religious liberty. The first of the Bill of Rights says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” That wording is the result of lessons learned from the dictatorial Holy Roman Empire and King Henry VIII’s power grab in the 1534 Act of Supremacy. The point of the First Amendment was not to rid the country of religion but to ensure that the federal government did not select a religion and give it exclusive support. Americans are free to worship as they please.

You cannot put God, (who is IN the Blessed Sacrament of THE EUCHARIST...called Holy Communion) into a vessel full of sin. We all sin, but we must be repentant of it to receive Our Lord in Communion. These politicians are not repentant as per their behavior which can be objectively judged. They are therefore not in the state of grace required for someone to receive the Sacrament. To allow them to receive the Sacrament is to allow them to compound grave sin on top of grave sin. Any serious Catholic understands that. Helping someone to procure abortion is grave sin that results in de facto excommunication.
Excommunication is Catholic paganism because you’re not doing what we told you to do. Not biblical at all! Communion is a personal thing with personal consequences if you are in the wrong.
Being in a state of grace does not mean being free of sin, it means recognizing you are at fault and actively seeking to change and ask for forgiveness which would mean you know you’re doing something wrong. what happened to the separation of church and state?
The separation of church and state only applies to the us government. There is no separation of church and state in the church

@@romerojuniorarts Great but not all Vatican II Catholics do truly understand the significance of the Blessed Sacrament. I believe that Christ is truly present also in the Eucharist. The Orthodox Christians receive Holy Communion on their tongue. That is why the Eucharist is so sacred. They believe in the reverence of the Mass. Mass is not just an obligation to them it is a way of life. Just like traditional Catholics when they attend Latin Mass. When you say, of course we believe it, it's God between us, - there are Vatican II Catholics who view receiving Holy Communion as an automatic obligation. They do not believe in the supernatural presence of God in the Blessed Sacrament. They believe they are automatically saved by receiving Holy Communion. They don't regularly go to Confession. Some are not in a state of grace before receiving Holy Communion.. Some run out of Church after receiving Holy Communion. They view Holy Communion as a symbol only. As a whole, Mass needs to have more reverence and that includes more reverence when receiving Christ in Holy Communion. That reverence extends to how we are living our lives outside of Church. Are we doing God's will on earth? Are we living the life that He wants us to live? We cannot be duplistic. We have to be in a state of grace to receive Holy Communion and not have grave or mortal sin on our souls without going to Confession first. Confessions need to be more frequent. That is why the bishops are coming together to remind us and teach us the significance of the Holy Communion. We are not worthy to receive Christ in our hands but rather kneeling before God and receiving Holy Communion on our tongues. "If we but paused for a moment to consider attentively what takes place in this Sacrament of the Eucharist, I am sure that the thought of Christ's love for us would transform the coldness of our hearts into a fire of love and gratitude."
