Did y’all notice that Joe said “ no.. we’re the king of the hill. We got a team, brother.”
Yup I bet In the 60s the whole team did mushrooms 🍄 together to get that chemistry maybe some weed half time to calm the anxiety with a cig before and after the gams
Yessir!
@@SwapMeet_SportsCards and a couple of shots of Jack.

If any athlete was made for New York it was Joe Namath
Joe Namath made the NFL as we know it today. He was COOL! SB III combined the old AFL with the NFL. Women loved him. Men wanted to be him. He was equivalent to football's Elvis.
Austin powers wanted to be him
I’m a huge Namath fan. My favorite athlete by far. He came into tremendous fame when I was 10. That was 1970. Saw him play many times in those days. My friend had season passes. He became most important man in football for the merger.
Me too. I was 8 when I became a fan in 1969. Of course my dad didn’t like Joe but he still took us to War Memorial Stadium in Buffalo to see him play.
Joe wasn't a thug. Joe wasn't a rebel. Joe wasn't a hoodlum. Joe was a rascal. And America is so much better for it and for having him. He was The Beatles of American pro sports during his generation.
We're king of the hill.......we got the team brotha
Someone needs to make this into a movie
I agree, a nice 30 for 30 would be great.
What Baldwin said at the end; man don't I remember. At times as a kid we would have 4 or 5 namaths on our little yard field. I'm Namath, no I'm Namath. Both qbs were Namath. Hell yeah.
When you look at Namath's career stats, it might seem like he has no business being in the Hall of Fame. But younger fans don't realize that if Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Brett Favre and other legends played under the same rules that Namath did (which made the passing game much more difficult) they would not have been able to put up the numbers that they did.
QBs back in those days were lucky to get out of the game alive.
If Tom.Brady played under the rules in Namath's day, he wouldn't have lasted one season. As far as overall statistics, the 1978 rule changes so altered the passing game that you almost have to compare before 1978 to after.
@wvu05 thank you and the other fellas for these comments. I get tired of hearing people go on an on about Goat this and Goat that. The only thing that can be quantified is who was the greatest of their era.
@@TheAutumnWind_RN4L Exactly. Everybody thinks the top dog of their generation was the GOAT. . . . .There are too many variables for there to be a definitive answer (but I do think it might be Brady, and he is NOT of my generation.)
Griese, starr, staubach, bradshaw, dawson, lamonica. They all played in that era, and they all had great stats. Proving namath can't throw a football
To all Jets quarterbacks, Broadway Joe Namath is no doubt the number one Jets quarterback of all time!!
So cool to see such a great collection of super fans say such incredible things about JN.
Lol right, what an all-star cast of interviews
Still remember going to Shea and seeing Joe throw the ball around the yard. It was amazing
Take a look at Unitas...then take a look at Broadway Joe. Then you'll realize why all us kids back then went absolutely wild over Namath. He was the coolest ever. He actually had 2 inch long ends on his Fu at one time till Rozelle made him shave.
Johnny Unitas. Now, there's a haircut you can set your watch to!
@@wvu05 True and the ironic thing is that Namath idolized Unitas growing up and still does to this day. As for Johnny U's haircut, he actually let it grow into a combover in the 1970s.
@@wvu05Haha! That’s my haircut today!
Joe says "Ah likes futh-bawll". He is the coolest dude ever!!!
Our all time Legend forever #12 Joe Willie! 💚
I miss those days so much!
"Just tryna get by.....look at that shot...." CLASSIC!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This super bowl upset was so shocking, so unworldly that even at half time, no one would take the Jets on a bet. And the line I think was 17.5 points. No one could believe what was happening.
Wasn’t gambling illegal at the time ? How did people place bets ? Just curious
@@junoir55123Yeah if it was illegal it couldn’t happen. If only they’d make murder illegal.
He was the real jet.
From Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania!!
The brothers love Broadway Joe
The most important nfl player of all time
If Namath played today, he would throw for 6,000 yards.
he almost certainly wouldn’t
@@bighomiechanga9972Maybe 5,000.
Joe Willie Namath was the real deal with the Jets delivered on his epic words we're gonna win the game I Guarantee it 2:15
Broadway joe the G.O.A.T
Montana>Namath
L.O.L.
@@dumisatonyjohnson8145In football stats-yes. In terms of importance to professional football- no.
Many millennials who criticize Joe Namath have never watched one full game from the 1970s.
Statistic #1 - Joe Namath retired as the NFL ALL-Time passing leader at 197.6 Yards Per Game.
Statistic #2 - Went to 5 NFL Pro Bowls (would have been at least 8 without injuries)
Statistic #3 - Twice led the AFL in passing
Statistic #4 - Won an AFL MVP Award
Statistic #5 - Won an AFL Championship
Statistic #6 - Won Super Bowl III to literally create the NFL with the merger.
His TD passes and interceptions are meaningless, because his coach usually ran the ball into the end zone, and he often threw long passes on third down to count as punts instead.
Broadway Joe “The Greatest “ QB ever conceived
happy happy birthday great myth from italian green gang.
0:13 hair like that convince you all around,
Didnt expect to see G.R.R. Martin
Well he's Santa Clause now, whose cool also.
Legend. He reminds me of John Travolta from Grease lol
I can definitely see that.
Roll damn Tide
Cool Ass Joe! The younger generations will just look at his stats and claim hes overrated, but they just dont know!
I didn't know Aaron Rogers played back then. Lol
joe da g.o.a.t. Namath , no player changed the game on and off the field more then joe
Joe with the girl at The Gault Ocean Mile Hotel prior to SB III
He reminds me of John Travolta and Russell Wilson lol
My children went to Alabama so I love Joe…..I was a Baltimore Colts season ticket holder so I hated Joe ! ROLL TIDE. !!!!😂
I became a Jets fan in 1969. I became a huge Alabama fan once I learned Namath played there.
@aaronrodgers Tryna wear #12?
He's the better QB, but he can't
Sam's turn 🤔✔✈✈⛼⛼✈✈
...
Wilson’s turn
Joe was the fifth Beatle
And he was on the Simpsons...Twice!! 😃
Joe's stats? I wonder they ran alot then.
Joe Flacco quarterback
Namath had a face for a helmet.
Namath looks like he got whopped in the face with a shovel
@@lendrury2771 Hard to believe that his knees looked even worse than his mug.
@@drbonesshow1 I've seen better heads on a stale mug of beer than namaths face
Yo is it me or does he look like Aaron Rodgers as a young guy?
You mean Rogers looks like Joe.
as baldwin is finding out now, humans arent Gods.
Who's the girl with Joe at 1:40?
She's a cutie!
I believe her name is Suzy Storm. I think she was a singer back in the day, but I can't find anymore information on her. That era was before my time.
Just imagine leading the league in interceptions 4 times?
Different game, throwing mostly bombs. No West coast offense, a third down interception was the same as a punt.
Just imagine trying to downgrade a legend like Namath.
Joe Namath should have played for his hometown Steelers, that would have been fitting.
instead they got Terry Bradshaw? from Shreveport, LA? which is much closer to the Cowboys by the way.
Yeah then they could call him Scranton Joe. Oh wait- some moron already calls himself that.
The only player that should be in the jets ring of honor is Namath but ever since the Butt Fumble that ring of honor got bigger.
Don Maynard absolutely belongs as does Joe Klecko.
Women loved him and kids wanted to be Broadway Joe.
Baldwins presence ruined the clip.
Agree 100%
It's odd that Trent Dilfer was never able to milk one mediocre Super Bowl performance into this kind of fame and notoriety.
So odd that a vegan wouldn’t understand a meat eater like Namath, or his fame. Obviously no soy for that boy 😎
Dilfer wasnt a highly touted athlete coming out of college. Namath was
William Justice 😂😂😂
@@ewc58 Technically, all those 'liquid lunches' were vegan. 😉
Dilfer wasn't the only QB to throw for 4000 yards in a 14-game season with those rules, and he wasn't one of the first to truly change the dimension of the game.
nice video until that meathead Alec Baldwin showed up at the end.
The NFL has been rigged since the beginning.
No way sorry ass Jets should’ve beat Johnny Unitus
Unitas didn't play until the very end of the 3rd quarter and by then the Colts were down 16. Morrall was the NFL MVP that year and played great until SBIII when he threw three picks.
The Alec Baldwin quote is typed inappropriately. The word GOD is capitalized. In the context of the quote, it should not be capitalized. When capitalized, it is a reference to the one true GOD - not ANY man.
LOL
The most overrated QB in history .. and 100% not a hall of a famer
Statistically maybe but his role in the history of the nfl cannot be overstated
More rings than Marino and Kelly...
