Very disappointed in you. You rushed through the lyrics and dissed them. This classic song deserve to be given greater TLC by you. Sometimes I find your covers better than the original. Unfortunately I am unable to say that this time, in fact, on this occasion, you have failed to even meet a bare minimum of quality. Do it again. This time take it slow on the first round of lyrics. This was fast and forced, and no where near what you are capable of. All the best.
@Stefan Schleps that's how I talk to my teenager when he does a bad job on his chores lmao.. literally never talk to anyone else like that ever, what a weird comment
I stumbled upon them some months ago and was blown away. Esp. the War Pigs cover live at Red Rock is crazy good. But even the tunes which are not totally my taste I can appreciate and admire. This band has the ultimate smooth groove!
Back when we used to go out to hear actual music, this band could have ruled. I'd have stood in line every weekend to see them. Musicianship is a dying art, but there are still a few unsung guerrillas lurking in the underground keeping that fire burning! Hopefully, the smoldering ashes of music will produce an inferno again. Dig you Main Squeeze!
I was just totally blown away when they did a Pink Floyd cover '' Have A Cigar'' and I see the guitarist is wearing a Pink Floyd t- shirt. I gotta love this band, only found about them this morning.
This is one of those moments when you just have to be still, turn it up and soak it up. How they are not headlining a multi-million dollar SOMETHING SOMEWHERE.... is unfathomable. THIS band, playing with a soul and passion that is genuine and ferociously real....... Give me that ANY DAY over these plastic, modern 'mo-town', regurgitated, ticket clipping, tick box, sex based 'Bands', and I DO use the term 'band' very loosely referencing these creations. Real Music played by passionate, gifted, authentic humans (no more divisions required right?)..... so real and in the moment you can feel in your core, their communal heart beat weaving the groove into a jaw-clenching, hair prickling sonic rollercoaster that just makes you want to throw your hands up and shout in rhythmic solidarity..... What more could we possibly want here & now? Nothing. What more could we possibly demand from mainstream music. Shitloads! If nothing changes, nothing changes. Who makes change? Us. Get the picture? Make some noise. Kudos Gentlemen...Well Played.
Never heard this cover before. Never heard of this band. They're great! And they sing this song so masterfully. No one could've covered this song better.
Read down the comments for a bit and can't believe no-one else has mentioned the fact that the second half of the song is absolutely the bastard son of Manfred Mann's Earth Band, particularly the synth sound and use of modulation, but also the arrangement and use of dynamics in general. Maybe me getting old has it's uses! Love it! Come to the UK guys- I'll be at every show.
I’ve been playing piano for 22 years. I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years. I’ve been playing bass for 12 years. I like to think I’m pretty good. But just imagine being THIS good at an instrument....
Absolute perfection unbelievable chops one minute you’re crying for absolutely mesmerizing vocals then for beautiful guitar then wicked drumming and bass and piano sick sick piano.
OMG! I found you guys by accident in the wee hours of this morning.. and I can't stop listening... I think I'm in love with the teddy bear in the booth lol. The guys in keys give me so much joy watching him... the curly head one on the guitar makes me feel like some making loving is going down on that thang! They way he feels when he plays is just awesome to see.. The other guy on guitar is just so easy going with it.. the drummer is having a party of his own.. I AM DEFINITELY A NEW FAN PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET AN ALBUM.. YOU GUYS ARE MARVELOUS TO WATCH. THIS IS MY KINDA MUSIC... I MISS THIS LEVEL OF SUPERBNESS IN MUSICANS... THE WORLD NEEDS YOUR BAND! ♥ :)
None of this works without the exceptional work of the drum player laying down the foundation. Such precise playing demands perfect time and timbre. Thats my two cents ;)

That was insane. I felt like I was watching an anime of band just absolutely killing it! Loved everyone’s performance, you’re all amazing. And great camera work 🔥
Got linked to them for a Pink Floyd cover which I cant even remember what it was anymore, they absolutely kill the covers and their original stuff is SO funky.
Just ran into this group via No Treble... Whoa! I'm an old guy, and I continue too be perplexed when I hear from some of my peers that there are no good bands anymore. What Bull! In the last 5 years of avid You Tube surfing I have unearthed a whole treasure-trove of new talent, and this band is a perfect example! Come on, fellow geezers, shake the sand out of your ears and listen to the present... and the future!
@@MainSqueezeMusic You're so welcome. I played War Pigs from Live at Red Rocks for my son & he said, "You wanna go?" I think I converted another fan for you.

@Stefan Schleps that's how I talk to my teenager when he does a bad job on his chores lmao.. literally never talk to anyone else like that ever, what a weird comment
Either this band is huge already and I'm just old and out of touch, or The Main Squeeze is criminally underrated.
they are. i guess it is more because they didn't spit out any commercial hit, but they are incredibly talented as musicians.
maybe because they are primarily a cover band.... very talented none the less
I stumbled upon them some months ago and was blown away. Esp. the War Pigs cover live at Red Rock is crazy good. But even the tunes which are not totally my taste I can appreciate and admire. This band has the ultimate smooth groove!
The latter unfortunately
sm1353 they aren’t primarily a cover band... do some research before talking out of your ass
Vocalist is absolutely, absurdly, brilliant.
They all are. Many lockdown hours spent enjoying their work.

Have a Cigar was the 1st cover I saw them do, about the same time you made your comment on this track. Been binging since.
I just found this band today as well totally awesome
me too !
Had a cigar myself...today..can't stop listening!

I still remember waiting for the album to come out. A long time ago..
Pink Floyd t-shirt and a Miles Davis poster in the background. No wonder these guys are so f**king awesome.

Yes, this is a part of America's music history that gets overlooked on the remake side. Thanks for remembering it. I was raised on this.
hands down my new favorite band! that keyboardist killed it
Yes
Smiley is the man!
Those hairy forearms channel the vibe fo sho
Is that moog ?

Keyboard Cat does it better,...
You could velcro some shit to his arms
Damn i was gonna make a wolfman joke, but caveman waaay better

Totally awesome band . Great choice
These guys are just magnetic. I can't stop watching them. Talented and radiating energy.
Can't decide what's better- the keyboardist's playing, or how into the music the keyboardist is!! Love it, you all groove so well together!
his nickname is smiley for good reason :)
Im convinced your guitarist and Keyboard player are one person inside two bodies
right on
We all are.

When the video starts and Max already has the stinkface going, you know it's going to be good.
A different level of music. Thank you. Smiley's keyboards is like listening to Keith Emmerson for the first time all over again. Mind blown...
These guys are awesome! Everything they do is perfection. Class act in a time when class acts are rare.
Nice Billy Preston dude. You guys rock, soul, blues, funk, all at the same time. All outstanding musicianship. Bravo.

Gold, I've never said this about any cover of this song but I think I like it more than the original, beautiful update of a great classic!

Did the tempo pick up when the vocals started?
Relax! It's groovy at the beginning tempo.

it speeds up at 1:18 when they go "papa was a rolling stone" but that's how it is with live music...no click track stuff here...great version
Amazing talent! All of them. Why haven't I heard of them before? So glad I found this band.🎸🎶❤️

Momma just hung her head and said, son

Papa was a rolling stone (my son, yeah)
Wherever he laid his hat was his home

Hey Momma!
Is it true what they say that Papa never worked a day in his life
And Momma, some bad talk goin' round town sayin' that
Papa had three outside children
And another wife, and that ain't right
Heard some talk Papa doing some storefront preachin'
Talking about saving souls and all the time leechin'
Dealing in dirt, and stealing in the name of the Lord
Momma just hung her head and said
Papa was a rolling stone (my son)
Wherever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died, all he left us was alone
Hey Papa was a rolling stone (dad gumma it)
Where ever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died, all he left us was alone
Hey Momma
I heard Papa called himself a jack-of-all-trades
Tell me is that what sent Papa to an early grave
Folks say Papa would beg, borrow, steal
To pay his bills
Hey Momma
Folks say Papa never was much on thinking
Spent most of his time chasing women and drinking
Momma I'm depending on you to tell me the truth
Momma looked up with a tear in her eye and said, son
Papa was a rolling stone (well, well, well, well)
Wherever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died, all he left us was alone (lone, lone, lone, alone)
Papa was a rolling stone
Wherever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died, all he left us was alone
Wherever he laid his hat was his home
And when he died, all he left us was alone
My daddy was
Papa was a rolling stone (yes he was, yeah)
Wherever he laid his hat was his home.

Another fantastic performance...really tight playing especially between keyboard and guitar...but all of you are gr8
That priceless moment when Max hits the second epic harmonization and a quietly proud David Gilmour stares out of his chest.
Awesome! Love the break with the synth & guitar and the comeback after the break, guys!
World class musicians and vocalists. You don't hear much better than this.
I wish I could be a part of this music... do you need a triangle? 😅
Cowbell!
Cowbell, they need more cowbell.
One of the best uses of TH-cam is to find this great talents
Outstanding job as usual.... Great vocals... excellent interpretation and scoring of a classic....love you guys...

I don't have words to describe how good you are, guys. Even amazing or fantastic are not enough.
Who decided the arrangements of their songs? What cohesion...
What you guys do to already great tunes is nutty good. Wow. I’ve been listening to your work for an hour.
Would love to hear the bassist sing more - he's got such a sweet voice!

Excelence.....this is pure gold, all of you so tallented guys
