Happy new year, hopefully a bit less hectic for you both. I love the new enclosure for Ivy... the consideration about keeping some of the old substrate to reduce any stress of the new smell is a great tip, and thank you for introducing Magic another adorable addition to your household.
Happy new year to you as well! Transferring over original soil/plants/hides def seems to help them adjust quicker, especially when it’s a space upgrade 🥰 I’m excited for her to shed and see how she adjusts to the new space - she’s lived in her old enclosure for years now.
They really are! Ivy has such a wonderful temperament as well - she’s yet to ever offer a strike of a bite, even when she was the tiniest little worm 🥹
@@B-Locke yep! Gnats are annoyingly normal to see in a bioactive - as the clean up crew develops they will eat the gnats and they will slowly disappear ♥️
It’s just regular Gorilla Glue - here’s the link to the Clint’s Reptiles vid I followed to create her old background 🥰 th-cam.com/video/GfZ4uzLSMf4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=HjQYTgDwQK8hwg8l
Just got two 8x3x2 for my two sd retics. I'm going to do them bioactive. Would you care to share your soil mix? I have play sand and leca balls. Just need a good soil to buy
I share the mix about midway through the vid, but here’s the general ratio/materials I use: 1 part top soil (we use Fox Farm brand Ocean Forest Potting Soil) 1 part undied/unbleached hardwood mulch (brand varies) 1 part play sand 2 parts sphagnum moss I also mix in a bit of charcoal (I estimate the amount based on the size of isopod colony I need to support the animal being kept on the enclosure) and leaf litter on the top. Sometimes I’ll add a bit of coco coir as well if I have some lying around. Let me know if you have anymore questions! ♥️🐍
beautiful new enclosure and I love your new pup! I know I wouldn't mind seeing more appearances from your dogs now and then. Happy new year
I’ll share more of the pups here and there - our new girl Magic is a sweetie pie 🥰
Ivy's a lucky girl! Superb content as always
Thanks so much! She just shed so excited to see how she explores her new space!
HNY 🥂🍾
Happy 2025! 🍻
Beautiful snake
@@TheNanze thank you ☺️

Beautiful snake. Colombian rainbow boa is on my bucket list for species I've always wanted to keep. They are like tiny anacondas.

Awesome stuff! I’m excited to see how she grows into and explores her new home!!!
Thanks Jordan! I’m excited too! She’s just about fully grown so very happy to have her in this larger space 🥰
Congratulations on the new puppy!… Ever get nats in your bio tanks? If so do you have any tricks to get rid of them?

The gorilla glue is a great idea! Any particular type?

I’m curious what the little square green thing you have attached to the left side of the enclosure is? Just started watching. Thanks
That’s a Govee brand thermometer/hygrometer - it’s actually white, so weird it’s showing up as green!
@ Oh thank you! Yes it looks like a light fluorescent green, weird. I’ve been looking for a new therm. Awesome!
