Now, this timeless game is coming back with an extremely polished, high-end special edition resulting from a collaboration between Ravensburger and Awaken Realms.
In this special edition, you can expect a complete re-design of art and layout to ensure that every piece will have great art and enhance in-game usability. Only the best materials (cardboard, cart paper, box, insert, etc.) will be used to provide endurance, and a premium feel. Many extra components will bring the gaming experience to the next level, such as double-layered player boards, special bags for hexes, 30% bigger tiles, or metal coins.
The Castles of Burgundy is set in the Burgundy region of High Medieval France. Each player takes on the role of an aristocrat, originally controlling a small princedom. While playing, they aim to build settlements and powerful castles, practice trade along the river, exploit silver mines, and use the knowledge of travelers.
The game is about players taking settlement tiles from the game board and placing them into their princedom, which is represented by a Duchy board that is placed in the Player board." - เกม
The Inn tiles required a poo-ton of rules for the bot to use. There are enough rules as it is and we didn’t want to have one page of rules for just one tile.
Really nice to see the expansions with the Chautoma. I've literally backed this ONLY for the solo mode, and there was really little information given on it during and after the campaign. Glad to see it working with the expansions as well. I got the 20th anniversary edition, and that solo version was really meh.
personally, I think that solo mode is great. And it was confirmed that it works on *every* map, not just the standard solo map.
I just got my pledge and started a solo playthrough. I feel the instructions for it are either poorly written or a bad translation. Game is still great though.
When playing with the “Boarders” expansion aren’t you supposed to use boards 23-30 (as per rule book), that have single colour groups in straight lines connecting the boarder marks on the player board?
In the rulebook, it does say that, since the border posts are on the player boards and not the duchies themselves, you can play that expansion with any duchy.

that's actually what it is...a SHIToma. Classic solo mode is better.
