You might be wondering what is Substance and why should we, as Rhino users care about it. Well, simply put, Substance is the industry-standard software for creating realistic custom materials, both procedural and scanned. This software gives you full control over the tiling of your textures and patterns in an easy straightforward way. You'll be able to just move sliders and get new materials each time. That's why procedural materials are really important as they save time and the best thing is that they just became available for Rhino users.
Today, we are going to talk about a workflow that you can use to create realistic 3D materials in Rhino using Substance software. You will learn how to create many different procedural materials with a couple of sliders and how to implement these materials in your Rhino scenes.
In the extended version of our tutorial which is available on our Patreon page, I'm going to show you a couple of tricks on how to create composite materials that are made out of a couple of different basic materials. All in all i hope chaos group (Vray & Corona) guys do sth dramatically about RHINO.... by far this 3d software is one of the forward-thinking and unique 3d apps & popular between Engineers (product/industrial designers same as Architects)💡

Can these materials be modified or allocated with grasshopper?
this could be a deal for me changing from KEyshot to Rhino (and creating a material library for my needs)
Out of curiosity, why are you making that change? I’m in a studio working with vray and we are considering getting keyshot, to enable animation and get better seamless material repetition across polysurfaces.
@@iESCAP1SM well keyshot costs too much, and i was just after the alternatives... still a good software.

So,do you think is there a different between the materiau SUBSTANCE and materiau vray?
I mean M SUB+RENDER VRAY is as good as M VRAY+RENDER VRAY ?
It depends how you look at it. In terms of finding materials (not wasting time) and having a big library to choose from, substance is better. You also have great sliders to make thousands of materials from a single original piece. In vray, that's not the case, you'll have to do all of this manually, making all of these maps separately in Photoshop, so it's very time consuming. I wouldn't argue which one is better, but rather which one is more efficient in your particular workflow and I would go with that one :)
Have you figured out how substance materials work with rhino mapping? They don't seem to work mapping.

Substance was recently acquired by Adobe, so now you have to get Adobe subscription in order to use it :/
