I feel like I can't really judge because I don't know some of these shows, but I think Come From Away would've won it. I've been so obsessed with Come From Away, it fills me with so much joy, it's been my go-to quarantine listening for the past year. I think if I knew Hadestown better/had seen it, that might've surpassed it, but alas, it is not so. And I also love Legally Blonde. It wouldn't win for me, but let my love be known!

Omigod You Guys, I'm currently in rehearsals for a production of Legally Blonde! It's so high energy, I love it so much. The music is phenomenal, the book is hilarious and heartwarming, it's such a good time even at rehearsals. I'm very lucky to live in a part of the world where theatre is returning, sending good vibes to everyone who still has to survive on cast recordings and slime tutorials 💕 Theatre will come back and the world will be So Much Better, we've just gotta keep thinking Positive! Singin' in the Rain is literally my comfort movie, but I just can't get into it as a stage production. My finally two were Legally Blonde and Hadestown. Hadestown won!

Fairly certain the La Mirada Carrie production you saw had one of my former show choir classmates as the lead! I also work with her mom, so whenever she pulled out her phone I could see her daughter in full bloody costume on her lock screen, haha. Now I'm wishing I had seen it 😞
I appreciate your whole tangent about Mamma Mia so much. I was in a production at school two years ago and I’d give anything to be in a musical again. Kinda makes me sad thinking about it. Doesn’t help that the show I was in last year, Pippin, got canceled almost exactly a year ago. Thanks for getting me all sentimental I guess.

I am definitely biased towards some of these shows, but Kat, you killed me with your choices. The fact that it wasn't Phantom vs Hadestown for the final is just.... idk. But again i'm biased. Keep up the great content.
I loved the variety of shows you chose! I had such a hard time choosing between Carrie and Legally Blonde!! I love both show and their scores plus I have a connection to both. I won a superior my senior year by myself for the first time in a theater competition for a costume design, I was so passionate about, for Carrie. And I did Legally Blonde my senior year and got to be Profesor Callahan, which was the best time, and got best actor for it. Both those shows mean so much to me and I’d have such a hard time choosing in a round of March madness.

Maybe unpopular opinion but out of this group of musicals i would have had Little Shop Of Horrors win!
I feel like its a really well known show but its totally underrated and under appreciated!
It was the first show I ever did at school and I was cast as Chiffon and its the only show that I’ve done that I wasn’t low key tired of the soundtrack afterwards.
Little Shop of Horrors has a special place in my heart and is absolutely my winner!

I’m a huge lover of Beetlejuice & Phantom, but if we’re being real Legally Blonde has such a diverse cast with each character having so much deep development that you can’t help but love even the ensemble. It’s such a good show 🥰
