Forgot to show how you can adjust the Brightness, and also the Red, Green, and Blue saturation if the photo's colors look a bit odd. It helps a bit with some, but on really old discolored slides they are still difficult to color correct. Takes longer to adjust each one, but on important slides like I was doing for a museum it was nice to have that ability. I am using the 7" model of this scanner.

What is the quality of the images for slides? Previously I used a similar product from Wolverine that was very quick but photo quality not great. Understood that great quality may not essential and strategy can be to scan at lower quality for review and then p 2:48 ay professional for the high res scans when needed. In my case I have a very large library of family slides. I have also looked at using Sony A7iii camera with macro lens but lens is extremely expensive.

I think the quality is very good and an excellent option for most people. It's the best I've seen at this price point. However, when you jump up in price there are options to get a higher resolution, auto dust cleaning and an auto feeder. Those are much bigger investment, but if you are looking for the BEST quality that could be worth the investment for you.

i can jump in on here and also say that for the price, the quality is respectable. Im not sure I would feel comfortable using the scans from this for say, "professional" portraits, but to just archive some old film or use it as a casual photographer, the quality is excellent

@@seamusthedawg2456 Thank you. I have Camera Scanning with Valoi Easy 35 going. Was a rabbit hole figuring it out. I did try a similar Wolverine Titan and it worked well and simple but quality not great.

Is there a similar scanner for 6X6 slides?

Will it work with the plastic slide mounts such as Fuji used?

Yep! I've used it with slides in plastic mounts before and it worked great.

Can this device scan slides mounted in frames with glass? They are thicker than slides without glass, that you are scanning in this video .

Hi there. I kind of doubt it. The case that that slide fits into is pretty snug. It could fit a slightly thicker slide to be scanned, but I think glass might just be too thick. If you do try it, I'd love to hear your feedback on how it worked out with the glass.

Thank you for this video. Many years ago I purchased a slide scanner and the results were terrible. Technology has definitely improved since then. I’m looking forward now to finally get great quality images that I can view on my TV. Thanks again. 👍

I just bought this scanner, so it is brand new. I have it plugged into my computer. As soon as I power it on and the home screen shows, it powers itself right back off. Anyone have any ideas? Any clue why it won't stay on? Even if I immediately press the ok button to select film type, it will shut off no matter what I try to do.

Try a different cable. You may be using one that is data only, versus one that is data and power. (I have this scanner; it's working fine with the cable I'm using.)

I’ve been scanning negatives that are 30 years old and the color is off when I use this to scan them

There is a button on the top that says "RGB" if you hit that and then move the arrows up or down you can adjust the colors in your scan. I typically don't adjust that for slides, however if you are seeing colors different from your originals it is possible that was accidentally changed.

But main thing is, what quality do we get?
Any way you could give us a link to a few samples?

I have a KODAK Slide N Scan. It takes me 20 minutes to digitize 20 color slides. This includes the time it takes to remove the sides from their glassine sleeves, the time to blow off the dust from BOTH sides of the film, the time to center the slide in the device and capture it (after deciding on the best exposure) and the time to put all the slides back into their glassine sleeves. There is NO WAY I can scan 10 slides per minute!

For sure... With those steps it's definitely going take you longer. With this project I was working from slides in a box that were luckily pretty clean. In my case I was able to slip them through pretty fast, but you are correct when they are stored in sleeves and need a good dusting, that will add a lot of time to any scanning project for sure.
