The question *is* : just who the *heck* thought to use earwax in the first place? Did they just start randomly sampling secretions? And, if they were systematic about it, I hope they started at the rostral end rather than the caudal!

They probably thought the texture of ear wax could be soothing on a crusty cold sore. Then learned that it also speeded recovery. Also, ear wax doesn’t stink.

Eating apples also lowers the pH inside the gut, allegedly supporting good bacteria (another question).

"In a more recent four-week study of 23 healthy subjects, whole apple and pomace intake lowered fecal pH but there were no changes in gut microbiota composition [18]."

Instead of chlorine in pipes you could use ozone like we do in parts of Europe.

      "
Image result for ozone bad for pex
Ozone can cause substantial damage to a variety of materials such as rubber, plastics, fabrics, paint and metals. Exposure to ozone progressively damages both the functional and aesthetic qualities of materials and products, and shortens their life spans."
However, if the ozone concentration is low enough it should be fine in PEX.

Ever since I was young, I've always had the conundrum of "thou shalt not eat animals with cloven hoofs", being pigs, with the accompanying as to why. I recognized that other animals had cloven hoofs as well, camels, deer, cows, etc. So why is it that religion doesn't tell us to not eat deer or cows? This was all very confusing to me.

U don't eat pigs according to the bible because it has cloven hooves and doesn't chew cud. Deer/ cow chew cud and have cloven hooves
