@@GoodWorksTractors I had the 47" snow blower and it worked awesome. My neighbor has the plow on his X730 and it works great also.. Messicks sold my X739 in minutes after trading it in.. I'm surprised your not able to sell it..
I did sell it about 18 months ago, haha. My neighbor bought it and then had a job change that required him to be on the road too often so he had to have a lawn and snow service handle his yard. So, I asked him if I could rent it from him last spring to mow and plow. He put .1 (point one) hours on it in the year that it sat in his shed. The plow works great. I added Superior Tech 9" extensions to it. I still want to add a rubber edge to the bottom as the steel left marks on my driveway that lasted until mid summer.
thanks for your video i just purchase one full set for $80 dollar for my troybilt bronco the guy just had it laying around perfect condition worth $380
I do similar leaf cleanup with a John Deere X300r. This is a smaller German designed John Deere rear discharge mower that has a large impeller built into the top of the mower deck. It has really good vacuum ability, almost impossible to plug. When the bag is full, the mower blades automatically shut off and the dump light comes on. I back into the compost bins and dump the rear bin without getting off the machine. The bagger is designed to dump in a few seconds without removing the large single bag. It cuts and compresses the material such that a full bag is around 200 lbs when full of grass or wet leaves, less with dry leaves. It doesn't seem to matter about wet or dry, it just sucks the stuff up! I like that there is no apparatus hanging off the side of the machine and also the dump feature. Very clever design!
@@GoodWorksTractors They are a great little machine, not everyone knows about them. Only thing is they are only available in 42" last I looked, so not for everyone. My yard is a half acre with lots of places where the 42" deck just fits, so it's an ideal size. One other advantage to this machine, it can run right up close to an edge on either side of the mower deck as there is nothing protruding, even though you are bagging. Here is the video from 11 years ago when the machine was first available. Instead of designing a mower to add to a tractor, they started with the rear bagger mower deck and designed the tractor around it. Apologies if this is all stuff you already know! th-cam.com/video/SzNDBYYSBUA/w-d-xo.html
Do you adjust the mower deck closer to the ground for leaf pick up? I usually have mine at a "3" setting for grass cutting w/o bag, but find it too high for effective bagger pick up. Thanks. Great vid!
It’s a beast. Seems very well built. They use a metal fan blade so you don’t have to worry about small sticks and such. Hope you can get your hands on one!
Good Works Tractors I just thought if using mulching blades, they would chop up the leaves before the power flow and that would save on the amount of times needed to dump the bins. Does the power flow chop the leaves any?
Looking at this same tractor to get around my mulch beds. Is that a 54” deck or 60”? I don’t really need a 60” but I am questioning if it would be better for getting around beds so I’m torn.
I'm planning to dethatch my lawn. I need to know how to pick up the loose thatch afterwards. Is this device good for picking up loose thatch? If not, what would you recommend? (Looking for pull behind solutions, preferably.)
I have a JD 2520 with a 62D deck and power flow bagged like the you used. I really don't like the way it tries to pick up leafs! There seems to be a lot of blow out coming out from under the right front side of the deck. I'm using high lift blades. Don't like the way the power flow meets the deck. Very poor connection. Seems like there a lot of vacuum loss.
Good feedback. I haven't used one on that old style deck nor have I used one on a 2 Series. Yes, leaves will always blow out. I've used John Deere, Scag, Toro, and Exmark baggers and never found one that didn't blow some leaves or fail to pick some up. As far as the how the Powerflow mates the X7 and 1 Series, it's an excellent fit. I have no complaints there.
You should do a tug are war with that x739 and idk like a 1023e or bx2380 something you have I kinda wanna see the outcome 😂😂😂 but anyway keep up the great work I love the channel
I had the 700x with the same bagger and worked very well. I traded it in for a 2032r now stuck using a leaf sweeper. 😠 Should have kept it at just bought the new tractor with no trade in.
I published them in the order of importance 🤣 However, I'm staring out at a snow covered lawn covered in a thick layer of oak leaves. Grrrrrrr! Need this snow to melt off quick!
I lived in Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor for 6 years ... the leaf sucker will get used at least one more time in 2019. Here in Vermont I’m not so confident.
Nice! Go Blue :) Yeah, I was gonna put the plow plade on the x739, but I didn't want to transition over from bagger to plow when I know I'll need the bagger again this fall.
You're son already has a good throwing arm, I'll bet he will be into sports in a big way..... Leave it to John Deere to come up with 1 of the easier to use bagger systems on the market.
@@GoodWorksTractors I have the John Deere x330 with the mulch kit. My lawn looks just as good after the first pass and mulching it is better for the lawn. I do appreciate your videos.
There's always varied opinions and everyone has a different idea of what they want their lawn to look like. I've got some pretty unrealistic goals that will be even crazier next year as I start lowering my mowing height under 1". Mulching up leaves is simply not going to help me get me the desired result that I'm seeking. Thanks for watching!
I took delivery of my 1025r a week ago. I mulched my leaves with the 1025r and then broke 'Frankenmower' out. (It is an old, cheap Sears mower with a bagger.) My JD dealer talked me out of the MCS for the 1025r since I mulch grass clippings. To do leaf cleanup, I got a Terra King Leaf bag for the old Sears mower. It is a bit like a big drawstring laundry bag that holds 54 cubic feet. Instead of dumping my 3 bags 30 times each, I dumped the big bag 5 times. JD MCS for the 1025r is about $3000. Leaf bag was $95. th-cam.com/video/OdPw6cTJLYE/w-d-xo.html
I ended up emptying out 3 times for my entire yard. Not bad for a 3/4 acre lot with nearly 3 weeks of heavy leaf drop. Looking at the bag system you mention, you still need to have a bagger system of some kind similar to the one I have on my x739. You simply remove the individual collection bags and replace them with one big bag that you tie around the lid and chute. Plus, you probably can't back up with that bag, looks like it's tough to navigate tight areas, and seems like it would have holes torn through it if anyone uses it in a woody area with lots of sticks or other debris on the ground. Definitely a good, cheap option, but inaccurate to state it's $3,000 vs $95 as you have another mower with collection system that you installed it on. Plus, I believe the last new MCS I was quoted for a 1025r was around $2400-2600. I also don't sell these systems so have absolutely no skin in the game.

Thanks! Not as flat as I'd like, but plenty good for us to play around in!
The best of the JD X700 series IMO.. 4x4 & AWS is an awesome combo

hello, how much area do you mow in one hour?
I've got the same collector on my X590. Only thing Deere needs to do is work on the blowout from the deck, that's my only complaint.
