Just subscribed. Great video. I love seeing more places to go in Florida. Kayaking I'd not be brave enough for but more kudos to ya bro. Thanks, stay safe with this big system heading our way. From the panhandle, Sandy.
Thank you Sandy, I ended up not doing the Dry Tortuga's this week. Instead I went to Cumberland Island at the FL, Ga line.. I just got home and found out the storm might be making landfall near me. Should be exciting 😁. Hopefully it's just a rain event for everyone and no one has too much damage. Stay safe up there too
Wow the gulf side is gorgeous! When I was there a few weeks ago the shells and sand smelled so bad. Wasn't sure why. I was my first time there. Great video Casey.
There must have been some red tide happening but I can't say that for certain. I didn't notice any foul smells while I was there, just a beautiful trip for me :)
I always make it to the end of your video's! And they are all awesome. Looking forward to the Dry Tortugas sailboat trip. Thank you so much for sharing!
This was a fun trip and something you could probably do. I recommend going with someone else and be capable of getting back in if you get dumped out there but there is a lot to check out on the island and just beautiful views
It’s a great place to visit. There is a daily cruise from Tarpon Springs that I took my Mom to see Anclote Key. It was an absolute pleasure to see her watching the dolphins escorting us! I love your wind powered vessel! Great video!!!
That's awesome and I'm glad to hear your story about your mom and the dolphins. That sounds like a real trip to remember and thank you for sharing. Also, thanks for the kind words :)
Great video. I grew up in Tarpon and much of my youth/teens was spent out there. Day trips in the spring and summer to the sandbar. Fall and winter we'd camp overnight on the main island temperature depending. Those mosquitoes are brutal if it dosnt cool off enough overnight. Think of the film Dazed&Confused and that was basically us only on an island. Chiefing, drinking and climbing the lighthouse by moonlight. Dumb teen stuff but some great memories. Thanks for conjuring them up.
Thanks, I rushed the editing and I saw a couple errors, and I also should of shorted the trip over but I'm happy with it :) I'll be watching your video this evening :).
It really was :). I just checked out your channel and I like that you are getting out there and exploring lot's of places too. If you ever see me out in the wild, say "hi" 😀
It had a little bit to do with camera angles, there were a lot of boaters out there but yeah, at the lighthouse and along the beach it was pretty desolate
Great video, Casey. I camped on Anclote with my step father, and brother-in-law once 25 or 30 years ago. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights, but only stayed one because of the weather and we had some boat problems. It’s a bit of a story. The island looked a bit different back then and the light house hadn’t been renovated yet so it was too dangerous to go inside of it. It’s nice they didn’t give you a parking ticket. Pinellas County doesn’t give warnings. I got a $30 parking ticket for parking at the Bellaire boat ramp while participating in the Ghost Trap Rodeo. We were supposed to be able to park for free because of the event. I called the county that Monday morning and explained it to them and they cancels the ticket, though. Looking forward to your Dry Tortugas video. Hopefully you guys get to go and you have fair winds and following seas!!
Thank you, you should do this trip, it really was a great experience. Maybe better in the winter or at least cooler temps, but a great place to explore
I've never been much of a fisherman throughout my life but I'm slowly becoming addicted. I foresee my trips becoming catch and cook style overnight trips in the near future
Thank you, I'll look into the Mediterranean ones right now and see if I can have them on a future trip out. I know Winn Dixie doesn't sell them so I'll try Publix or online :)
You are not allowed to camp anywhere except the northern part of Anclote island. It looks like you just want to camp wherever you want to. People bring their dogs out there all the time even though they're not supposed to I've seen people throw their cigarette butts and all kinds of stuff out there. It used to be very quiet out there until all the Northerners started to move here and trash everything
yes, on each trip I'm usually able to grab at least a "Walmart" sized bag of other peoples trash while I am out and about. I practice "leave no trace" while making the places better by collecting the broken bottles and trash that people leave behind. I updated my video description to note that camping is allowed only on the north end and added the phone number that campers are to call before setting out on their adventure. thank you for the info
@@sailingslowmotion👍I do that when I go to the beach. Grab a blowing plastic bag and pick up trash while I walk. BTW, I grew up in PA. Not all "northerners" are irresponsible, just as all Floridians are not solid citizens. 🙄 .
Thank you for helping to make places better than you found it. It's a constant battle between those of us that care and those that don't. Keep up the good work :)
@@sailingslowmotion I'm in Suwanee County. We're prepping for Helene. We lost a massive amount of trees to Idalia, and still have standing water from Debby! Stay safe. Wherever you are! 😎
@@tebelshaw9486 I thought I replied to your message but apparently not :). we ended up not to bad here, but my sister (who lives just southwest of Lake City's city limits) got hammered pretty bad. I'm actually about to head up there to help clear debris. I hope you all made it through okay
❤Loving your Videos! Thanks for sharing your adventures! ❤️
Thank you so much!!! Seriously, that means a lot. I hope all is well and you have a quick recovery from the surgery. Love ya
I Love you too, Big Brother! ❤☀️

Very informative video. I always learn something from your videos. Loved the scenery and the sound of the waves.
Thank you for watching and sharing as always :). Glad you liked it

I think Kayaking with a sail is epic!!
Oh yeah, it's a totally different experience for sure

Lol, that sounds like you lived your youth correctly:). Thanks for sharing your memories

@sailingslowmotion mine is a short one this week, but it's pretty cool.
Wish I was there bro looks like a wonderful time

Really surprised at how few people were there - maybe it's the mosquito thing- great trip so close to the Tampa area

As always awesome video about Tampa!

Good spot for a hammock
Agreed, especially in the cooler months when using an under quilt isn't too hot
Id be doing so much fishing on that little stretch of beach! Thanks for sharing my friend. Just got a sub from me!

@@sailingslowmotion Looking forward to it!
I eat those sardines all the time. You might want to try Mediterranean for right out of the can.
Thank you, I'll look into the Mediterranean ones right now and see if I can have them on a future trip out. I know Winn Dixie doesn't sell them so I'll try Publix or online :)
I found some on Amazon and placed an order for a dozen cans, I'm excited to try them, thanks again :)
Dude, I like your kayak with sail...any info on it?
Yes, in this video it's a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 with a 'Falcon Sails' sail on it. It's a great set up and handles nicely
Instead of sugar, try honey, especially Tupelo honey from the panhandle. That honey is special.
That's a fantastic idea! I'll look into that brand and see if they sell it down here or if I need to order online. Thank you
I ended up ordering some on Amazon, it says real 100% tupelo honey from Florida, so it just might be the real deal. Thanks again
