I kept seeing "ODD ____(insert class here)" and wondering what kind of deck it was because I just back into HS and am not too keen on the terminology. My only deck right now is even a Baku deck and I didn't realize until that 2nd match where the other mage was also an odd mage and it clicked instantly. I felt so dumb.

I liie the deck my dude. I myself am trying to create a new Paladin deck. Not quite done with it. Also am short on the cards. But pretty hapoen on what I want. But to actually incorporate it is a bit tough. But eventually... Kick buns my dude! :)

I run a similar list like trumps opponent. Aggro odd mage, secrete package + elementals and Azalina, Flamestrike,F. Jaina as enders. Azalina is hugely underestimated i won a fair number of matches by stealing quest warrior weapon or becoming DK Warlock when low on cards.
If he had a flametongue Shaman would have won.
Odd elemental seems like a bit of negative synergy, since you might have to awkwardly float mana in order to keep elemental synergy going

it wasnt that shit, the deck was clearly designed around flamestriking to set up the random damage burst from cinderstorm and magic missle, hell thats 16 damage if your opponent has no minions left, it aint bad.

It blows my mind that he couldn't tell what the second opponent (odd mage) was doing simply because it wasn't a net deck.

The reason I quit hearthstone. Litteraly pay to win if you dont have 25 hours a day grinding for gold AND net decks appear even in fucking casual...
This drives me fucking crazy too. Constructed meta (in MANY games) is just so damn constrained that even smart people are completely railroaded in their thinking, because it's so rare someone might deviate. Trump is sitting there going "there CAN'T be burn because the ones I always see aren't allowed!" I mean jesus Trump go to a DB site if you have to remember what spells deal damage that you don't see every 3 games, but the guy is pretty transparent he's going straight for your face.
To be fair there's not a ton he could've done, maybe try to push through the Tar Creeper earlier...

Trump wasn't considering those burst cards not because it's unusual or not from a net-deck, but because it's freaking stupid to put those cards in your deck. It is an unreliable, unefficient source of burst. The chances his opponent didn't know what he was doing were higher than him running those cards. Hell, the chances his opponent was baiting him into playing safe were higher as well. Trump didn't consider this because it's so bad it's highly improbable it happens
Your conclusions are well understood, but you're not listening to what Trump is SAYING. Yes, it may be stupid, inefficient, and unreliable for the deck to be built that way, we get that. And yet the guy had clearly built it that way, and in this situation that build was capable of killing Trump. Trump needed to recognize that as soon as possible, yet he took longer than he should have to acknowledge it. Again, the key to me that indicates what a railroaded mindset he's using is that even when Trump is considering about burn, he's listing cards that CAN'T be in the deck rather than those that CAN. Can't get out of that box even when his instincts tell him he needs to.
Might one inquire why tinkmaster?

I never feel hate filled when facing mages. Their decks seem fair and it makes it a decent fight till the end.
Paladins, on the other hand... I hunt them. With explosive traps, unleash the hounds, and deathstalker rexxar. Used to run bloated bat, too. Because fuck the lowest common denominators XD

So is it worth running DK and odd/even for the greater power consistency?
It looks counter initiative at first, but losing the Hero Power late game is worth it, as Jaina is what you need to survive into late game - where the Odd hero power loses a lot of value anyway.

The name of the song is called Witchwood just like the Hearthstone expansion and it's played in Witchwood, that's why he uses it

Sudden Death tyrant is key for cheating out stuff, other stuff replaceable by mindcontroltech imo

Barnesrino Kripperino even shaman is pretty good, it's winrate is surprising high.
It's not a cubelock level deck but good nonetheless.
im guessing we just didnt see much of that deck, because what ive seen of the deck is pretty bad

The deck is odd
There is no point playing Odd Mage its weaker in every way compared to other mage decks.
I am hopefull they will be adding some cards in the future expansions that supports the archetype.
As a player who legit plays Odd mage in rank 4-3 this really hurts to see how poorly he is using some of his cards
How are those players at such a high rank I don't understand. You can find way better players/decks at 10-5
people usally use top tier decks like cubelock. and then once they are legend rank they just start trying out random decks they don't know how to use and meme decks etc. so bad plays happen a lot in legend.
Pretty much what Michael said - If you had Cubelock on Day 1-2 you didn't even need to buy any Witchwood packs, just the Pre-Witchwood Meta Cubelock destroyed both Shaman meme decks and Aggro Paladin, which were basically the only relevant things being run those days.
That let a lot of people get to legend where they could then bust their Witchwood packs and meme it up from there.
