वल्लाह। बहुत दिनों के बाद किसी ख़ूबसूरत ग़ज़ल को ख़ूबसूरत आवाज़ को ख़ूबसूरती नज़ाकत और नफ़ासत से गाते सुना।
I never thought I would be enchanted by any other voice other than Begum Akhtarji on this ghazal. There are certain songs which are enjoyed in one particular singer's voice only.this ghazal was one such ghazal for me.Ghulam Ali, Nayyara Noor and many more but only begum Akhtarji's version was the best.But today when I listened to pratibhaji i think she was at par with Begum Akhtarji. The alap was so brilliant that it just kept me hooked to the entire Ghazal.Thanks a lot pratibhaji!!!and all the best!

This gazal is all about nostalgia, pain, suffering, loneliness, loss.. Mooman Khan Mooman has masterly expressed these emotions in this gazal.. This is one of my most favourite gazals..
you missed muhabbat, sukoon and deewangi. Sorry but they also are what Ghazal may be about to. Just adding so that Ustad Mehdi, Ustad Ghulam ali saab bhi yaad rahein.

Words fail to convey my deepest feelings about your song. How sweet your singing is! How flawlessly you perform. You are a priceless gift from God to the world. You are melody incarnate. Your accompanists are equally superb.
Pratibha means talent... its obvious here . Emulating late Akhtari bai is very hard, it a mile stone song. But it rejuvenates feelings that the poet definitely experienced 100 years ago somewhere in the afternoon in lukhnow or a benares mandi
or in a shabby house of narrow lanes in old Delhi..

Beautiful rendition by Pratibha. Her voice is super sweet and delivery is fantastic. Just wanted to point out that the word in the maqta or last sher is mubtala and not mukhtala as she seems to have pronounced. Here is the maqta:
