La marche était trop haute ce samedi pour Jasmine Paolini en finale de ce Roland-Garros 2024. Malgré un départ intéressant avec un break pour mener 2 jeux à 1, l'Italienne a ensuite été écrasée et n'a pu sauver qu'un seul petit jeu contre Iga Swiatek, victorieuse 6-2, 6-1. Cela n'enlève rien à la superbe quinzaine de Paolini, éblouissante jusqu'en finale. Elle sera d'ailleurs logiquement dans le Top 10 lundi, à la 7e place.

Great interview. It shows that she hasn’t yet fully realized what it meant to be a GS finalist and rank 7. She won’t face Iga on rounds 1 or 2 anymore !! She definitely showed strength and bravery in this final and should feel encouraged to keep pushing, she has more potential.

She didn't have the same fighting spirit because it's Swiatek. You could tell from her pre-match interview. She was ready to lose. I mean she'd lose anyway, but the fighting spirit wasn't there.
