Even though I preferred Yuna at the Olympics, I think Mao's performance here was beautiful. And that triple axel even looked like it could have been clean! She is a very talented skater. :)
@@AndreaSapunganPagdanganan-t9y I think they meant at that age. Mao dominated during her junior years and early senior years to 2008. She was better than Yuna then. She was technically superior (harder jumps, not technique). Clearly though, her poor technique caused her to struggle during her senior years following puberty and she had to rework everything. Yuna was better in her senior career where she truly shined and became the queen today. Senior Mao could not match Senior Yuna partly because of the early IJS system which rewarded safe play to more difficult attempts. Yuna’s perfect textbook technique helped carry throughout her career helping her jump with confidence and consistency.

Port712 It really is frustrating that stupid age limit prevented her from competing there. She could have won easily if she skated like that. It was her best chance at the OGM and she couldn't go. They need to loosen it up and bring back the loophole if you medal at World Juniors, you qualify for senior Worlds.
Port712 I don't understand why they made it so rigid, I get they want to avoid injuries to youngsters and burning out skaters, or pusing them too soon but a skater should go to Olympics and Worlds if they so they're ready and Mao was more than ready.
Gorgeous program from Mao. Even at this young age she is still my favorite skater ever. Such natural fluidity, genuine expression, and marvelously smooth skating skills with just the right balance between grace, power, effortless speed and fabulous dancing across the ice with elegant flexibility, symmetrical beauty in her jumps and the totally unique triple axel for her age. In terms of the Olympics, a skater will have more injuries if they don't get to go to the Olympics because of being a few months too young because they will skate for 4 more years to go to the next Olympics, so the official reason is not only wrong but contradictory. Perhaps there was a push to give Americans or Russians a better chance for victory. The Olympic scores are manipulated for favorites anyway as is the scoring in general.
Can't we be allowed to respect and cherish the talent of both Mao Asda AND Yu Na Kim? They both have talent, elegance, style, grace, artistry and technique that most of us can only dream about. Aren't WE the lucky ones to be able to watch these incredible atheletes?!
Has any ladies skater at this age been this good? I highly doubt it. You knew watching this that this was a once in a lifetime skater who should have been allowed to the worlds that year.
its also about the attitude alone.its not being unfortunate that some skaters couldn't make it..there are plans for them..its just by step by step...and also how can you compare yuna kim and mao asada these 2 are the BESTEST OF ASIA!!the are completely unique and gifted..we must be proud for them, because their life is worthy existing in this world ...and after all we in THIS WORLD will helping each other and caring..THANK YOU ICE SKATERS!!!for bringing up your talents..NEVER LOOSE HOPE!!
