How attention do you think it deserves? I mean, when it first came out it was all over the radio. Maybe we can have a "No Leaf Clover" holiday. How about "No Leaf Clover" month? Maybe we can have a weekly parade all over the country - no - all over the world where every float plays No Leaf Clover over their loud speakers at high volume so even if you aren't there, you'll hear it. Oh, I know! We can put a huge "No Leaf Clover" banner that's about 10,000 acres in size on the moon so you can actually see it from earth! Would that be enough attention?
@@SM-1538 I'm not angry. Not at all. I want to solve this problem of the biggest song they've ever made being "one of their most underrated songs". People get on here and say the most ridiculous things just because they have nothing important to say. Every band is the "most underrated band". Every song is the "most underrated song". Everything on earth is the most "underrated thing on earth". After a while, there's just not enough "rating" to go around. So I want to help. I'd like to know how much rating these "underrated things" require. Last thing I want is for ANYTHING to be "underrated". Let all get together and start RATING STUFF!!
@@danroberts9050 pretty sure if you went up to anyone and asked what’s the biggest Metallica song they’d say no leaf clover, just wondering why you’re so passionate about this
@@SM-1538 Thank you! You exactly made my point for me. So if it's their biggest song, how the "F" is it also "underrated"? That's like saying "Everyone says Grandma pecan pie is the greatest thing she makes but it's also the most underrated". By the way, I'm not passionate about this. I'm just making a comment. No different than anyone else. I'm simply making the observation that some people don't even bother to think before they make their comments. To say the biggest, most well known song by a band is "underrated" is really just plain dumb. So, I called out the dumb person. That's it, and that's all.
S&M in 1999 inspired me to ask my mom for a guitar so I could pursue music. S&M in 2019 inspired me to keep towards my goals no matter what. Now I have my first EP released. Thank you Metallica for always pushing me. ♥
Hey, Metallica-when my son was a baby he had colic. After trying just about everything, we discovered your music was the only thing that would calm him. Clearly he had great musical taste, even as a baby. He is now 24 and we all love to rock out to Metallica together. The Simons are fans for life!
For some time, I used to the travel in early morning flights. ADHD does not make it any easier to get up early and get going. Then, I listened to one or two Metallica songs, and bingo, I would be alert, calm, and raring to go. I didn't think others had a somewhat similar experience.
This brought a tear to my eye, I'm 25. Metallica forming such an integral part of my childhood, the band that got me into heavy metal and extreme metal, helped me during emotionally difficult times during teenhood. I honestly thought I'd never see another S and M album, and never this song - properly performed. Yet here it fucking is, in all of its glory. Thank you Metallica and San Francisco Symphony.
@@moderusprime Probably not. There are a lot of haters out there who would hit the dislike button without even watching the video just because it's Metallica. I'm not saying some of these people don't genuinely like this song but I'd wager most are just trolls.
This song was the first Metallica song I fell in love with. My partner had a CD playing in his car; the same 20 or so songs over and over and had some of his favourite songs mainly from ‘tallica, Aerosmith, SOAD, linkin park and others and I knew this song as “the freight train one” 🤦🏼♀️ Always loved Linkin Park and everything growing up but I listened mostly to songs I could sing (now looking back it kinda makes me cringe how little I appreciate everything else). he introduced me to metal & thrash and now I can’t get enough. Love the contrast in S&M and I wish one day I could see it in person. If only they played - human.
This is also the first Metallica song I fell in love with. We were doing a lesson in art class where we could each play a song on the cd player, and we were supposed to attempt to illustrate what we were hearing. One guy played No Leaf Clover and my mind was absolutely blown when he said we were listening to Metallica. I immediately asked him if I could borrow the cd. That day, my love for Metallica was born.
I cant believe that we have now 2 S&M albums. Best collaboration ever. My daughter grew up listening to the first S&M now I gat to share the S&M2 with my grandson. Thank you guys for putting out great music that helps me clear my mind and also brings smiles laughter and even tears of memories.
The sweet old lady banging her head at s&m1 during this song is an image that always gives me joy... But now the image of the boy banging his head in this one is my new favorite moment 😍🤘
It's awesome to hear this tune again. This song was actually the first song i ever heard from them. I was just a little guy when i first heard it, and through them I found the world of music. I became obsessed with music. I couldn't sleep without it, i didn't go anywhere without my disc walkman. God so many memories. With that i became obsessed with Metallica. I had alot of social issues growing up, dealing with ADHD, social anxiety, being on and off medication my entire childhood and teen years, metallica and music made such a huge difference in my life. I couldn't explain why at the time, but i found so much comfort and safety in Metallica. My mom died when i was 17 and they were a big therapy tool in that. Everybody has an opinion about Metallica, but they will always be No.1 in my heart. They have overcome so much over their 30+ year career, and are still juat as active today as they were back then. People say they are overrated, they earned it. People call them sellouts... damn right, they sellout every show they play. If you do what you love and love what you do, how is that selling out. Thank you guys for being there for me through my life. Hope you guys and everybody in the comments are staying safe in these crazy times. God bless metallica God bless Metal God bless music And God bless all of us fans of all 3.
Even if I don't buy the S&M2 box set or Blu-ray, Metallica is casually releasing stuff here anyway! I love it! I can't buy it coz I don't have a credit card haha. For all I know, Metallica truly cares for their fans. Unlike GnR god damn, they released 25 min concert clips. But Metallica did 23 weeks of full gigs!
I was 10 years old and living in Beirut when S&M 1 happened. At 30, living in CA, I was lucky to go to S&M 2. My first Metallica concert and I would be very happy even if it's the only Metallica concert I ever attend. Well worth it!
I've been through women... house's... boats and endless car's then Lost the use of my legs and am wheelchair bound... this band has always given me strength
Out of all the heavy metal bands I love, James still takes the cake as lead man. I've felt connected with this band my whole music listening life. All the way back in 93' when I was 8 years old cutting my teeth on the black album.
You rise and become your best. then you fall and fail. You can give up or you can rise again and become better than your best before. that's the story of Metallica. these guys are legends.
Been a fan since '83, it's astounding to see how far this band has come, just how massive and enduring, yet they are still just 4 guy's in garage metal band, it's been a great journey thus far, BRAVO!
@@tanbenny3386 The purchased version has a lot better mixes on some of the songs. On the youtube moth into flame you can barely hear the orchestra for example
That song, this one did and still make me cry Avery single time . No leaves clover, I looked for 11 days in the forest here in Québec Canada for my dad who was lost 11 days yelling, crying his name as loud as I could to finally found him gone in a river . This song .Thanks guys !!!
It's so nice to hear the proper version of this song performed live again, the way it was intended to be heard. James is also sounding the best he's sounded in a good 15 years here, and it works well for the song. Full credit to the rest of the band too, they all knocked it out of the park. This really is a damn good version of the song, almost as good as the original S&M version.
Awesome. I can see clear differences between the two versions but, as always, Metallica always delivers and delivers the best of the best. No wander it is and always will be my favorite Rock Band.
These guys have honestly saved my life on more than one occasion. When my elderly parents died within less than a few months of each other, this song in particular kept me going through some very bleak days and nights. I’m also certain Metallica have also saved me from the odd homicidal impulse over the years!
When I was a kid, this song was instrumental in shaping what would become my musical tastes and overall aesthetic preferences; I still remember the very first time I heard it and how much it cracked open my understanding of what music could communicate and do for you as a human being. I then threw myself at S&M and all the feelings No Leaf Clover left me with were elevated to the stratosphere. S&M still is - and I dare say it ill forever be - my favorite album of all time. The dimensions I can find within the soundscape of that album are infinite, not matter how many times I come back to it (and I still do, at the very least, once every other week). On top of the arrangements’ quality, the mixing done on S&M is some of the most powerful technical wizardry I’ve experienced. I actually have no idea why, exactly, it sounds as perfect and powerful as it does (I’m guessing a lot of editing in post), but regardless, that album is THE benchmark for live albums - with Floyd’s Pulse and the new remix of Delicate Sound of Thunder being a close second. All this being said, I couldn’t help but be disappointed with how this S&M 2 event was handled; what could’ve been another once-in-a-lifetime concert - if they had made the effort to include new songs for the majority of the album and if they had deployed the same technical wizardry they used on the first one - became, imo, nothing more than a footnote. The repeated songs will automatically be compared to their versions on S&M 1 and none of them even come close to being as consistent, engaging, energetic and, quite simply, orgasmic as the versions recorded in 1999. James saying that Kamen was the engine behind S&M 1 makes a lot of sense and explains why S&M 2 turned out the way it did.
"Good day to be alive, sir" almost made me tear up, thinking of everyone who's left since 1999. James honestly never sounded better, and the whole band, like holy shit.
54 years old and this band had provided the soundtrack to my life. Hetfield has authored the biography of it. The good times, the horrible ones, getting sober, going out, coming back. Good looking out God.
This has got to be the singular most amazing event in music history. Where were the people who picked at kids like me in the 80s? They called us everything saying that this band had no talent and wouldn't be around when we turned 20, and blah, blah, blah. Hey suckers, I'm in my late 40s and they are still here!!!! Still almost 20 years after this night it still gets me so fired up and emotional I feel the tears rolling down my face. Any of you who have loved them from the beginning knows what I'm talking about. Come on man, Creeping Death with a Symphony? LMBO Die, Die, you haters.
In FL in the early 80s my bosses wife came to me and asked me if I would talk to her 10yr old son, said he'd been walking around saying weird, scary things and she thought he might need psychiatric help. I went in his room, we talked, he let me listen to a tape he'd been listening to, it was Metallica, I'd never heard of them and I'm a headbanger, blew me away, became a fan instantly. I went to his Mom, told her not to worry, her kid would be fine, he still is today.
Man, ever since the first S&M, this song has always been in my top 5 metallica songs, and this just brings back all those old-aged feelings that have slipped away from me for so long

@@danroberts9050 what angered you so much to produce all of that ?
This song gives me chills every time I hear it. One of my favorites.
They may be getting older and metal may not be on its best moment, but man, what a song. They are still the greatest
This song is so strong. My life right now sucks but listening to Metallica gets me out of my world. I love this song.
I'm not bashing anyone's opinion, but I can't believe that people are disliking the video during the premiere.
@Daniel Treadwell Or people who have an opinion.
Those are the morons that only listen to Tool and think they're better than everybody else.

If only they played - human.
back in the day, you was an obedient good girl or not ?
This is also the first Metallica song I fell in love with. We were doing a lesson in art class where we could each play a song on the cd player, and we were supposed to attempt to illustrate what we were hearing. One guy played No Leaf Clover and my mind was absolutely blown when he said we were listening to Metallica. I immediately asked him if I could borrow the cd. That day, my love for Metallica was born.
Sorrybu had to listen to limpy biscuits.
KEN the BLOWDOLL still obedient good girl 😌 not obedient to everyone though.
@@itpaynesme that's bad, really :) i like obedient girls !
I cant believe that we have now 2 S&M albums. Best collaboration ever. My daughter grew up listening to the first S&M now I gat to share the S&M2 with my grandson. Thank you guys for putting out great music that helps me clear my mind and also brings smiles laughter and even tears of memories.
It just gets better every time I hear
I was 8 years old when I listened to Metallica for the first time, my stepdad introduced me. Now 33 and STILL a fan. Thank you dad!
The sweet old lady banging her head at s&m1 during this song is an image that always gives me joy... But now the image of the boy banging his head in this one is my new favorite moment 😍🤘
Yep... That's a ray of sunshine right there 🖤
Except it wasn't an old lady on S&M1 it was a young boy with long hair.
God bless metallica
God bless Metal
God bless music
And God bless all of us fans of all 3.
I bought the boxset but I don't have a bluray player so it is nice to watch the videos here anyway XD.
Everything is on Spotify
You don't necessarily need a credit card
@@alejandro0527 well ya know, billing and delivery is kinda hard here in the Philippines
I think a preload card will work for you try it
I was 10 years old and living in Beirut when S&M 1 happened.
What happened to your legs?

He’s the Mighty Het, that’s why.
@Terry Clark damn straight! The best is yet to happen!
Don't peak too early kids! I am 53 and pacing myself, ha, ha!
Mr. James Hetfield ladies and getlemen
Guess you've never heard any Johnny Cash
Out of all the heavy metal bands I love, James still takes the cake as lead man. I've felt connected with this band my whole music listening life. All the way back in 93' when I was 8 years old cutting my teeth on the black album.
1:42 that Symphony and vibration effect camera 🖤
You rise and become your best. then you fall and fail. You can give up or you can rise again and become better than your best before. that's the story of Metallica. these guys are legends.
I’m so glad to have this song being played live again after so loooong with the San Francisco Symphony!! 😭😭
Proud to be one of Metallica family!
I wish they did - Human again as well, but I'm excited
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Minus Human is the most underrated Metallica song and it deserved to be in S&M2. It has to be said and it was said.
This is upsetting, I need to breathe!
-human instead of confusion and it would’ve been a near perfect set list
They didn't
I was at this concert. Little birthday gift to myself. The show was so electric. Enjoyed every moment of it.
Been a fan since '83, it's astounding to see how far this band has come, just how massive and enduring, yet they are still just 4 guy's in garage metal band, it's been a great journey thus far, BRAVO!
They did better and these guys are in their 50's! That's the magic of Metallica! 🤘🏻
I love this song but I can’t wait for The Day That Never Comes and The Unforgiven III
I feel like The Unforgiven III makes a good sequel to No Leaf Clover.
Mr LT1 I can see that
Must well release the whole thing and those who bought it is a waste of money.... Ps: I bought the blu-Ray.
@@tanbenny3386 The purchased version has a lot better mixes on some of the songs. On the youtube moth into flame you can barely hear the orchestra for example
Lars was epic on The Day That Never Comes, my favorite song from the first night, Friday September 6th
This is one of their best, and perhaps one of their most underrated tracks, in my opinion.
That song, this one did and still make me cry Avery single time . No leaves clover, I looked for 11 days in the forest here in Québec Canada for my dad who was lost 11 days yelling, crying his name as loud as I could to finally found him gone in a river . This song .Thanks guys !!!
2.3 billion years into it, James still sounds like a freight train. Unstoppable guitar playing and singing.
It's so nice to hear the proper version of this song performed live again, the way it was intended to be heard. James is also sounding the best he's sounded in a good 15 years here, and it works well for the song. Full credit to the rest of the band too, they all knocked it out of the park. This really is a damn good version of the song, almost as good as the original S&M version.
best live performance of this song ever! best live performance ever!
I still consider this the best Metallica song ever written.
4 symphony yes
Most underrated song in my books!
Nah
Such an incredible song ! A masterpiece!! Just can't stop listening to it 🤘🤘🤘
Metallica, the greatest ever. 🔥
And when I die, I’ll be able to say that I lived in the time of Metallica
Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel..
No band in this world can do what Metallica did ,,, don't mess with the legends .
Metallica always and forever , end of story .
This, King Nothing, Enter Sandman, Fade To Black, Fuel, and The Memory Remains are among my all time favorite Metallica hits.
James looks great and sounds so fucking good. Better than he has in a long time.
This was way before he went to rehab. Now his sound is even more on point than this SM2 (tho he was on fire also when this SM was filmed).
@@veli-pekkakivimaki2633 it wasn't "way" before he went to rehab, this was his last live performance before rehab
@@RyKaB17 Yup that is correct! My mistake.
Still so glad they did No Leaf Clover for the second s&m too
This has got to be the singular most amazing event in music history.
Got in many school fights over this band. They're in my BLOOD.
Man, ever since the first S&M, this song has always been in my top 5 metallica songs, and this just brings back all those old-aged feelings that have slipped away from me for so long
I’ve heard from a lot of people that James’ vocal aren’t as good anymore but this just proves they’re wrong. So much talent here
Have you seen videos from the current tour? His voice is better then it’s ever been.
Metallica, спасибо! Смотрел в кинотеатре 9 октября, теперь и дома можно будет заслушать. Anesthesia мощно исполнили и All Within My Hands тоже и все песни тоже :)
Still sad about the loss of "Metallica Mondays"...been the best part of most of the last several Mondays...
3:25 ... you can see an eargasm.
James voice is great, clear and in tune !!! The song is incredible, perfect, for me
Everytime I listen to this, and I was there for S&M2, I have wept. Metallica and the Symphony, take a bow.
I love this song, and S&M 2 bring back the memories of S&M1
But, I prefer the old version in term of quality sound and solo
same to me.. i miss jason too. :T_T
I agree, the old version sounds much better, not even this song no leaf clover sound as good as the old version

All the power of woodwind, brass, bowed strings and eletric strings |m|
I listen to Metallica to help my mother with her stage four cancer ! They gave her 1 month to live. 3 years ago 💪🏼
I just got my paws on the box set for S&M2 and I just wanted to say Thank You! The vinyl is so pretty and sounds totally balls!!! The added box candy is also righteous. The poster, the guitar pics, the sheet music, the pictures! The whole gig man! I have been listening to Metallica for over 10 years. Metallica taught me a lot about music and had a place for me at the mighty metal table.
I loved the first the S&M and this truly is its equal. I’ve have yet to see Metallica in the flesh, but this does me just fine. It’s like having the whole gig right in my dinning room. It’s fantastic! So again, thank you Metallica for this lovely slice of heavenly music. Thank you for the Metallica Monday’s, thank you for all the wonderful music to keep me sane. I really appreciate it.
METALLICA RULES SINCE 1981!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish -human made a cameo, i loved that one as well. Halo on Fire is solid. The jam session at the end is one of the best. I would love to see Wasting my Hate make an S and M album. I challenge you Metallicats!

There are a few who disliked what METALLICA did with their music at one point or another but the truth is that Metallica's music has evolved so that old and young in this generation will bang their heads with their music
They do no disappoint, James's voice and performance matured ! I always felt they didn't take the first S&M enough seriously, maybe they didn't know how significant it will become later .
I wish they kept the orchestra louder after around 4:14
